I loved it! Congrats, very funny to play and read :)

oxyoxspring 2015-08-24 13:30

That was absolutely brilliant!

rakholl 2015-08-24 13:38

Introducing the mechanics of running an election campaign while managing resources? The monster bit brings a smile to play, and I can appreciate approaching politics as something else than magic reserved for other monsters.

It's a fine clicker, and seeing what happens next and with the different actions you take was a good enough reward to keep me going to the end.

sepharoth213 2015-08-24 13:41

It could use a better interface, but I really liked how it presented itself as a normal twine story until the campaign started! The premise was incredibly clever and the game itself was surprisingly engaging. I'll definitely come back and give this another playthrough to see what happens if I actually win the election.

Overall, excellent writing, imagery, concept, and execution. Congrats on the entry!

The best game I've played so far. It took me awhile to realize that I had a staff to manage, so I had a bunch of idle monsters.

You had an amazing variety of content. Good work!

dotteri 2015-08-24 18:49

This is funny and well done

realize2d 2015-08-25 01:40

I was terrible at it, but I really liked the idea, and the texts were funny!

inurashii 2015-08-25 02:00

Earlier today I made some minor tweaks that made the game more possible to win! It's still rather difficult, but those of you who couldn't beat it before should try again :)

inurashii 2015-08-25 02:01

also, thank you so much for all the comments! I'm very happy that people are enjoying my morbid little campaign game :D

madameberry 2015-08-25 02:34

I wish it was more clear what it even took to win. Still it was really fun!

inurashii 2015-08-25 02:36

yeah I definitely plan on having the post-comp version be more informative.

marekkpie 2015-08-25 02:58

Recount! Oculent clearly greased some bloody palms! Fartolotocus had plenty of votes in South Nastylands, but those hanging flesh chads!

crowbeak 2015-08-25 12:21

I like the subtle character creation page. Good job making a strategic game in Twine.

nikteddy92 2015-08-25 15:41

HAHAHAHA Great fun and deep mood..
That's the real way elections are made, right? xD

peterthehe 2015-08-25 17:02

Some instructions would help. Otherwise, AMAZING!

inurashii 2015-08-25 20:41

peterthehe: I do plan on putting more info on the activity screens, but there are also already instructions next to each activity heading -- is there anything I can do to fill those out or make them clearer/more obvious?

mozz 2015-08-26 01:38

fantastic! I may have lost the election, but a new monster will rise from the fallen body of Abby the wing'd horror

tweedle 2015-08-26 05:31

A lot of wit went into writing this, and it is appreciated! This is the first text based game I've played for the Jam, and it's also the first simulation type game I've played. It goes well with the theme too!
Good work!

keyboardmonkey 2015-08-26 09:45

I played this through a couple of times, and I really enjoyed it! The approach to improving your political campaign is especially creative, the theme is spot-on and the duality of playing both the monster and the politician is a most cunning twist. Love it!

crucknuk 2015-08-26 12:45

Nice work! You should add the "check poll" view in the main view for more visibility. Being a politician is probably what suit best to monsters :p

f1ak3r 2015-08-26 19:13

That was pretty in-depth and featured for a comp game, well done! I'm probably going to have to play this one through a couple more times at least, and not just because I lost the election first time round. Reminded me of "Long Live the Queen", but with fewer horrible deaths. The prose was excellent, full of personality and not a word out of place.

If I can make one recommendation, it would be nice to see the poll stats on the main page instead of having to check it separately all the time.

thedashdude 2015-08-27 02:40

Great game. It would be nice to know about how you tell if your campaign was good enough, or how close you came to failing. This might be my best rated game so far.

guoboism 2015-08-27 09:42

OK! It is nice game about monster election campaign! I like the concept very much.

hotboxgames 2015-08-28 22:05

Awesome! :D Loved this idea, quite a lot of content for a compo entry. Very funny! :)

cjke-7777 2015-08-31 05:30

Very interesting - outside of the square thinking. Well done

freaknarf 2015-08-31 08:09

Cool text game!
Still I could'n beat it, this seems quite hard indeed... Some more instructions could have been appreciated, but that was part of the fun to try new combinations... Well done and written :)

franklins-ghost 2015-09-04 11:49

Great concept with the campaign and the writing was really well written. Made playing smooth because it was interesting to find out more. Also liked that you had to manage things.

abcdef65g 2015-09-05 01:26

Your writing style is a killer one, very creative idea, and I really like the structure behind your idea. I understand very nicely the connection in between monsters and politics. Side by side I tell you.

Your writing style is oddly appealing, I can't tell why but I really enjoy it, so much I played the game more than once just to see how you worded everything.

inurashii 2015-09-08 16:50

Thank you so much for all the kind words! :D I hope people are enjoying the post-comp version too!

mahalis 2015-09-09 16:02

This is great! Loved the writing. It seemed like some of the “you don’t have enough resources for X” screens also consumed a day, which didn’t seem right, but if I’d kept better track of which things needed what resource it wouldn’t have been an issue. Nice job!
