Hmm... The controls aren't very intuitive.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD23 → Scorched Earth

Hmm... The controls aren't very intuitive.
I'll edit the description, looking back my title screen doesn't say nearly as much as it should.
All alone here :_{
Interesting multiplayer game. Would have liked to have some sort of AI though.
The concept of destroying your own tiles was interesting, but it took a while to figure out all the controls. Something a simple as changing cursor color when making a legal move/selection would have helped a lot.
Controls need work, Good music.
The music was nice. A little confused...you say that you can make 3 moves with the soldier, but I was only able to make one before I had to switch turns. Not super clear what the objective is - you say that I need to destroy all the enemies, but I don't know what an "enemy" is or how to do that.
Congrats on finishing your first LD!
The user interface was somewhat confusing, and it would have been nice to be able to hold down the arrow keys to move the cursor rather than tap tap tapping :P.
Nice hotseat game - there should be more games like this.
I missed two things, though: change the cursor's colour to match the colour of the player whose turn is active, and move it to a closer position to the new player instead of having to move it across the screen (or, better yet, have a key to move from unit to unit to make the turns much more dynamic).
Congrats on your first LD
I'm not much of an RTS gamer myself, but for a 48 hour game, this is great
Congrats on your first Ludum Dare! I like the idea behind this game quite a bit! I think it'd be a bit better if the cursor moved a bit more/faster, as it took a long time at the beginning to get all the way from blue to red. Overall, though, I'd be excited to see where you can take this!
Very interesting game idea, but the controls make it very tedious to playtest. At the very minimum, the pointer should snap to a player's character (or a factory) when their turn starts. Mouse controls could also help alleviate this.
Again, I really like the concept, but it's hard to get into it at this state. Still, it's a nice start and shows a lot of potential.
Same here.
Nicely done. When testing by myself it is kind of annoying having to move the cursor between the teams every turn. The idea is good tho and the gameplay as well.
The game works perfectly fine on Linux if you just rename Theme.wav to theme.wav (lowercase T), change the backwards slashes (\) to forward slashes (/) in the manifest file and include the Linux natives in the zip file. (Tho you have to set java.library.path manually on the command line. I don't know if you need to do that on Windows as well.)
Would be an interesting strategy game with a little polish.
Some interesting strategic elements at work here. Loved the music.
