My Kid Dropped The Planet by MadGnomeGamer 2012-04-26T00:19:00
Loved the take on the theme and the humour. Only thing missing is the subtle cries from the inhabitants of the planet

It got boring pretty quickly, I don't understand why it kept saying "the world's too big"?
I gave up when I died and it became impossible to carry on if you die as the boats stay across the water.
I like the effect of walking around the planet though
Found it really difficult to calculate the jumps, felt like there needed to be a variation in the power behind a jump plus maybe a different/more of a guide to the jump trajectory.
Loved the concept though and the visuals
High five MadGnomeGamer. Does that mean it's you who steals the 'Skully' user names on sites? :P
to the people struggling to complete it: It's definitely possible to complete, remember to keep the bacteria away from the sides as that's where they go to spawn at a random location, they bacteria will begin to group together
cheers regardless though for giving my game a shot
Yeah, I was tempted, but then I managed to complete it on hard, consider it a challenge to those who refuse to be beaten by a game ;)

Get 7zip, tis a beast
I am green with envy. Great game and entertaining timelapse
gutted:
Got a snippit of music while the window opened then hit with a message informing me that my implementation of OpenGL wasn't supported :(
don't suppose you could upload a less pretty version?
Really fun concept, loved how the levels zoom out to scale with you
Good concept, though the gameplay needs slight refinement, the change in momentum from jumping and colliding with the evil lemmings makes it seem jerky and unpredictable. The collision was also making it not possible to jump or even move in some cases. Other than that, twas a great game
Great game, but brutal if you make a mistake it would be good if you could drag as well as push
Sounded like my kinda game
Played it: my kinda game.
Love the kick mechanic, makes stealing a fix that bit sweeter.
Great concept and fun implementation
:O what the hell?
just got weirder and weirder lol
gutted the video didn't work though, said I didn't have one, was ready for a murder movie
great look and sounds
loved the Jam cameo
wouldn't consider it a game as such, but certainly a very good looking application, was really mesmerised and immersed by it.
Congrats on your first LD
I'm not much of an RTS gamer myself, but for a 48 hour game, this is great
looks very pretty, but gets hard pretty quick
It was abit vague, but I got to the last room, really enjoyed the concept, very clever. Took a while for me to find the pot though.
Addictive game indeed
Love the virus infecting the cell and using that as a mechanic for getting across passages.
Also spot on having infinite lives: encourages continuous play and stops it getting frustrating (or at least less so!)
great job
I like the discovery feature of your game and the teleporting, but it is hard to look past the lack of animation and sound, makes the world feel really empty.
Jesus, going into that game and starting it up, I had no expectation there'd be a slight horror element to it!
Was genuinely fearful of them creatures, spammed the light like there was no tomorrow!
Took me a while before I realised it wasn't completely gravity based: that you could infact roll up walls, which ended up being a cracking mechanic.
Great game, well done
"if you press space you can shoot yourself" Jesus D:
I couldn't get it to run
I ran the batch file and tried the exe but it says it isn't compatible with my windows, it's not designed for a x64 is it? as mine's x86
Was more fun once I realised you needed to install the font!
Pretty fun game, but I don't get why it doesn't just automatically eat the cherries?
I'm a sucker for classic game style music and sfx though ;)
Love the idea and the quirky art style.
Not to diminish your ability as a coder, but I'm amazed you pulled this all off within 48 hours.
Nice job
Well done for getting such a deep game within such a short amount of time!
Can't imagine how you pulled it off with all the text and story navigation.
Great job
Thanks for the feedback :)
the "ooo, shiney" game was made in 3 hours because the game I wanted to make wasn't working and I was fast running out of time. There was a bug where if you stayed on the start screen too long the player would fall through the bottom and thus end the game. I've since fixed that. Though you also need to get all 10 gems to complete this level but I suppose that makes it a little too challenging vs the other games. Nice score btw :)
Yeah there were a lot of mistakes in the text, I did read over everything I put but I was running on 5 hours sleep during the 48 hours haha
The 2nd was your favourite because you had a hard time controlling it? haha
And I'm afraid it doesn't even tell me off for having a naff gfx card, it just instantly comes up with a unresponsive error box :( I have a decent PC but I'm not home atm, will try it at a later date :)
Currently my favourite game of LD27 compo.
Great ideas and very well executed.
Only crit I can give is put "press z to choose" on the menu as I had no idea how to do select at first.
Great job
Very simple but fun and humours, the art's spot on for the mood of the game.
Using the entire keyboard to move about made me laugh. Was a fun game
Love the reuse of previous attempts mechanic
Didn't realise that the objects move, that fixes the issue that I had that 10 seconds is actually too long.
Good job
This is very smart. There's a few games where you use multiple play throughs, but this is the best executed.
10 seconds... I like your take!
It's a nice concept and well executed
Yeah, I can't run on Win32
Good game, moving in integer position makes this work well. The UI broke though after a few levels, it asked to go to the next level but had the highscores drawn over the top
Doesn't run on 32bit windows OS (I'm running 32bit Vista)
Nice concept, would be good though if the area was infinite so you didn't have to keep flying into the same spot to get flies. Well done though, needed minimal instruction to play
Your game makes better use of the title :P
The game is very nicely put together with the cutscenes and the like. The art's great too
Great concept, was fun to play and very funny.
short, simple and fun. The way a good 48 hour game should be. Seeing an explosion wouldn't go amiss however.
I'm assuming you also used Gosu?
You need to include "OpenAL32.dll" or else it won't run.
The generation part is really cool though
Really addictive and well made, great job :)
The mechanics are well executed and it look marvelous, however I felt like the old man needed more things to do as I found myself waiting to turn back into the ninja most of the time. Still, great job
You need to sort out your submission so it's less of a hassle to run, seperate out your application so people can go straight into it, and make sure your .dlls are in the correct folder as I had to move stuff about to get it to run, which most people won't
Nice little game, I like the increasing difficulty :)
I'm just getting a black screen that shows the framerate :(
Couldn't run due to my (lack of) graphics card on my crappy laptop
A simplistic game that's actually quite addictive!
Also great job on making so many various builds so more people can enjoy it.
Nice concept, would suggest making the orb collision more 3D, it's slightly frustrating when it looks like you've got an orb but you don't get it because your not in the same depth.
Other than that, I really enjoyed playing your game.
Although 4 hours? not bad. I had a similar issue where a platformer I was trying to create wasn't working and I only had 3 hours left so decided to scrap it and build another game from scratch. It's not particularly fun with the deadline looming but glad you managed to get a game out
Laughed out loud a few times, loved it. And it looks great too - even if the ring stain stressed me out. Love that you added in sounds for poking the things on the desk too haha.
Great job!
Thank you for your kind words!
@gonutz - Good spot on the typo! Fixed, thank you
I'm not quite sure what you mean about the swing. It will only be able to thrown prisoners a certain distance, but that's just the physical limit of the catapult. Also not sure what you mean about the graphics not being recognisable, but one thing I'm aware of is the mattress is a little difficult to see, so will be trying to fix that post-jam.
@Lojchin - Thank you!
@Mordokay - I believe humour is actually one of the marks that you can give a game during judging! Glad you enjoy the ragdoll, it was fun to create.
There actually is a scoring system (check the end of the newspaper!) but we might consider making it more obvious while you play. We've other things that we'd like to do to improve the game, just need to find the time!
Thanks again for your kind words, we're really glad people are getting enjoyment from playing
It is fun to play, love the music. The difficulty seems to spike towards the end of the 20's and then after about level 30 ships seemed to stop spawning. Did the enemy just realise that we have a huge heat-ray? haha
Good job :)
