Note that engine will be released soon :)

Clever little twist on Asteroids! Main suggestion I have is the bullets could be more visible.

Let me reiterate to other players that you NEED to install the font in the zip. The game will appear to run properly, but the HUD won't show up, and you won't know your score or ship health.

Thanks ! And yeah, the font is very important as you said

Good concept! Unfortunately I didn't notice that I had to install the font until after playing through. Couple of other things that annoyed me were not being able to reload after dying and stuff spawning right near me when I first started. Movement also felt a tiny bit off. Looks like it could be a pretty fun game with a bit more work though.

Sorry but I've seen these things after submission, I can't fix them, but I have said to install the font in the description. I don't know if I can fix these bugs without breaking a rule...

Cool little asteroid game, usually those game have a lot of inertia, playing without it feels a bit strange at the beginning, but it's eadier this way and still fun to play . The color choice for cells is kind of psychedelic :)

Was more fun once I realised you needed to install the font!

Not bad... interesting take on Asteroids. I didn't like left/right click for fire because it kept making me think I could aim with the mouse cursor. Requiring me to install a font on my system is a bit odd. I like the colors!

Pretty fun game, nice work!

Nice pun on asteroids. I like the graphics and the movement. My suggestions are that you add more sound to the game (how about a soundtrack?) and shrink the ship in size.

raptor85 2012-04-30 23:17

doesn't run properly under WINE, maxes around 1fps and there's no transparency in the images (everything has a giant black box around it). can't test.

vertebro 2012-05-01 00:14

@Raptor85 : It's normal, AutoIt language use native function of windows and the GDI+ library to display graphics, Linux isn't support it :/

Hmmmmm. Reading your post-mortem, it seems that your pre-compo engine does most of the heavy lifting in your game (collisions, inertia, animations, debugging, etc). In that case, you need to release it before the compo starts to be within the rules.

The game was cool -- I think the spaceship should be a bit smaller - at its current size, it contrasts too much with the other sprites in the screen. The lasers and missiles were a nice touch, as well as the progression of difficulty.

It would be nice if the ship turned around a bit faster.

A fun take on Asteroids!

I can't play your game because I don't have Windows. Perhaps another member of my team will find and rate your game.

Sorry, can't judge since I don't have windows.

asfdfdfd 2012-05-09 21:07

It will be more cool if i'll be able to shoot from the keyboard.

maxman43 2012-05-13 04:52

I'd totally play this if it had a web version.

lorancou 2012-05-13 22:21

Whoah! Those colors! Ouch! Hum, apart that, smooth game, nothing really special but it's working well.

masterhyjinx 2012-05-13 22:28

This reminds me of a shareware game I played a long time ago. Except you made it in 48 hours, congrats! Isn't technology great? I think the application of the theme was pretty good. When I played this game I thought it was a good start and would like to see more, like enemies coming out of the background and into your level instead of popping in. An adventure as you travel through the blood stream could be very cool.

Nice asteroids clone. That sound effect drives me nuts though :) My suggestion would be to make the main character smaller so that you don't get insta-ganked when shooting at a nearby asteroid.
