Couldn't play, don't have XNA installed or admin rights on this machine, and MonoGame version crashes. :( Looks nice though, congrats!

The ratio fun to dev-time is really good here. :) I also love being able to use the flames from the rocket as a weapon.
I'm sure these are corners that were cut because of the super-strict deadline, but for the sake of due diligence:
- I need sounds!
- No EXPLOSIONS?!
- A way to see that I'm damaging stuff would be great, like flickering or whatever.
- Not really any way to dodge or combat the Death Star. :(
But a great first entry on such a tight time-budget!
Going through the effort of building in the menus, story and music was a nice touch, but not enough to offset the monotony of the gameplay for me.
Congrats on another game under your belt, though! :)
This is another really good entry, I can totally see this being a darn successful game provided that the mouse controls are repaired and the AI is put in its place. :)
Congrats!
Can't play - no XNA or admin rights on this machine. :( Looks nice though, congrats!
The glob-nomming was simple, but drifty and zen-ish, so still pleasant. :) I kept playing through to the end, hoping I could somehow evade/defeat the meat-demon and progress. No such luck!
Can't play, for the same reason as everyone else. :(
For anyone confused about how to run this game:
- go to love2D.org
- download the version for your system
- drag Jail-By's *.love file onto the love.exe file from the download package
Props for having audio, and for participating.
The two biggest building blocks of a game are its goals and its obstacles. As far as I could see, there was no significant goal, and the only obstacle is random death.
But congrats on making something playable!
I think I see where you were going with this, but it didn't quite get there for me. The mechanics and mood look like they have potential, congrats on getting something done!
I could see this working as the foundation of some future game, assuming the source is nice and pretty. As game it's obviously got issues, but as an engine I'd say enemy number one is performance - FPS dropped to ~15 by the time I had enough resources to buy the tower.
I did like the 3D though, and watching tiny people toil their lives away is always fun. :) 'grats!
An interesting mechanic, something the tower defense genre needs more of. If anything I wish it had been a little simpler, more polished.
Congrats!
I thought this was quirky and funny, though it did die down really quickly, there's just no way to continue after multiple giants start spawning together. Music/audio was good, congrats. :)
My favorite so far! The interactions were intuitive and smooth, and the visuals were very effective.
When I saw the puzzle with only two antimatter particles, I knew this was a solid puzzler.
Altogether, though I'd love to have some audio/music, it's very playable and feels complete, a great job in 48 hours. :)
Couldn't play - I'm on computer without XNA and I don't have admin rights. :(
Definitely one of my favorites, I really liked the visual style and the idea. I'd like to see some more variety (surprises), some music and a more gradual difficulty curve.
Congrats! :)
This is really fun! I played alone, but the AI was lively enough to keep things interesting. I liked the balance between arcade-y gameplay and the slow turning of the tanks, it made for an interesting challenge. :)
I thought the theme was a bit missing, but it's good stuff anyhow! Congrats!
This is a fun little strategy game, it ran well and was easy to pick up (though slow at first, until I started guiding through multiple moves at a time). The music was nice, and the text-based sections (while kinda hodge-podge and random) added mood and humor that I thought worked out great. :)
Congrats!
I really liked how there was audio feedback for every action in the game, I think that helps tremendously to sell the simple graphics.
But this game is hard! It might be that my keyboard sometimes glitches out, but I found that running out of fuel was very rarely a concern. I also found collecting fuel/money to be a little difficult, more often than not I would die trying to reach one of the two.
The appeal of games like this is to progress via upgrades, so you don't want too many rounds to pass without an interesting upgrade (at least before you get the player hooked). Making money easier to get (like rewarding based on the height reached) would hopefully help with that.
I thought application of the theme was a little light, I'm thinking the helicopter/house-looking-thing is the avatar's 'tiny world', but it doesn't affect the game.
But you made a game in 48 hours, good job! :D
This does 'casual strategy' pretty darn well, it's interesting to place little 'tribes' and see how they fare. :)
I think some ambient audio and a bit of music would've done a lot to support the simple graphics, but what's here feels neat and whole.
Congrats!
A nice idea, but by the third level I still didn't know how the circuits worked. It looks like you spent a lot of time making levels, so I'd definitely suggest trying to more deliberately introduce the circuit logic (I got through the first few doors by guessing).
'Death' is lenient, which I think would be a problem if not for the collision/control issues.
The sounds are effective, which is nice.
The concept is good, and moving around on the surface works really well. Unfortunately, the gameplay stops being interesting really quickly.
The minimap is a nice touch.
The sounds are good, the title screen loop is good aside from the harsh looping.
Congrats on getting something out there. :)
