I liked the Half Life theme. Movement felt a bit awkward, in that you kept moving quite a bit after releasing a key. Otherwise nice engine. You should continue to work on levels even though the jam is over.

pjarosak 2012-04-23 20:17

Great start.

shelby 2012-04-23 20:18

Not much game here. I agree that the movement was weird, but I understand why it was there. A beeping noise kept playing after I quit and had to re-boot my computer.

vigrid 2012-04-23 20:26

Reminds me of HL a lot. This engine has potential, the game had quite nice feel to it, too.

mrpiglet 2012-04-24 06:11

A lesson for next time is if you only have 48/72 hours, half-life the rpg is probably not the best choice!

Reading messages with space and closing with enter was rather frustrating. Still, every hung together pretty well tech wise.

zamando 2012-04-24 10:33

The beeping sound in the end kept on going when i closed the game. I got rid of it by killing java in the task manager.
Not much of a game, and interacting with things but then closing the text that pops up with a different key is annoying.

jesterblue 2012-04-25 01:35

Tried to play but it was too much for my computer (2ghz .5 gb ram winxp) too bad. I liked the snippets of music I could hear though.

johnfn 2012-04-27 07:15

Nice start here. I got stuck in one of the rooms and couldn't interact with anything for some reason. Not sure if I made a mistake or not. Perhaps you should have some indicator on top of interactable items.

Despite what everyone else was saying, I was feeling more metroid-vibes from this one. The thing about a problem in sector 2 was giving me flashbacks :-)

moop 2012-04-29 08:36

Good start.
Please fix the bug were the sound continues after I quit.

Don't want to be one of -those- people but it's spelled 'enough' not 'enaugh' (just nitpicking sorry). Sad to see that you ran out of time with this, hope it goes better next time! A couple of things I noticed when playing the game was that the menu controls were arrows keys only but the in game movement was with WASD. Likewise the interactions were with space but closing them with enter. I think that the game could benefit from more consistent controls. Sorry I don't have much more positive to say but there isn't too much of a game here yet to really comment on.

jezzamon 2012-05-01 08:23

Interesting, although clearly next time you have to focus on TIME.

When the game ended, the sound kinda glitched out for me (ie beeping about a minute after I closed the game), FYI

And yeah the movement seemed quite clunky.

alex-k 2012-05-01 08:53

Maybe a bit too ambitious, it's sad that you ran out of time!
The controls feel strange (movement is not very precise, and using enter after space is not intuitive).
I also had the sound continue playing after I quit the game.

stromchin 2012-05-01 09:27

too bad you ran out of time

geekygenius 2012-05-03 00:10

The beeping at the "To be continued" scared the shit out of me.

robcozzens 2012-05-08 06:33

Interesting idea. Not really my cup of tea.

machinas 2012-05-10 06:28

when i hit the red button, it says 'to be continued' and then my computer makes infinite beeping noises even if i close the browser. finally stopped when i killed java in the task manager.

galman 2012-05-12 11:51

Nice game engine.
Sadly not such a game :-(

make-a-game 2012-05-12 11:52

Same as Zamando and the scrolling should start way before you reached the corner of the screen.

valeour 2012-05-12 12:43

Definitely worth working on afterwards, don't give up on it!

brighterorange 2012-05-13 23:28

This played the opening screen for me but then the game itself never loaded. :( Chrome on Windows.
