Can't run cause I have mac :(

markavian 2012-04-23 08:46

Struggled to get through the battle system, difficult to understand how some of the menus worked. Good layout for the battle system, but initially hard to understand.

predominant 2012-04-23 09:04

Hard to understand.

frankthetank 2012-04-23 15:30

Thanks for you feedback! I am sorry that the battle system is that confusion, I added a better description and a few examples how the battle works.

madball 2012-04-23 16:47

The battle system was easy to understand for me. At first I wondered how can you create a balanced card game in 48 hours.

omaha 2012-04-23 17:55

can't run on my linux/mac machines :( looks pretty though

justinmullin 2012-04-23 22:11

Hrm...clicking only works about 20% of the time in quick play, and clicking doesn't do ANYTHING on the world map.

rhy3756547 2012-04-23 22:19

Cool concept, I love that you've made a card game; but it's sorta confusing. I think some more pointers on the UI would help.

frankthetank 2012-04-23 22:31

@JustinMullin: I am sorry that it's not working for you, I think this happens when game window is too big for your resolution. A possible workaround is to click a bit lower where the actual icon / card is. Again, sorry about that.

@RHY3756547: Thanks for your feedback. You are totally right! I should have spent more time on explaining the game ingame in hindsight.

verrazano 2012-04-23 22:43

I once I got a hang of what I was a supposed to do it was pretty fun

vigrid 2012-04-23 23:43

Couldn't understand the rules. UI is a bit unintuitive.

jungorend 2012-04-23 23:47

Fun game, the merchants never seemed to sell anything to me, but once I got down the combat it was fun.

hallway 2012-04-24 00:22

Very fun once I understood how combat worked.

mildmojo 2012-04-25 03:57

No windows here. =/ Good to see a card entry, though.

kitch 2012-04-25 04:38

Not really a card guy, and it took me a while to figure it out, but it was really fun once I got into it. Good work!

radthordax 2012-04-26 05:15

... I just realised I played this for 3 hours straight... I think it was a complete success! The only gripe I have is minor, and it involves the slow movement on the world map. But everything else is fantastic! Suprisingly well thought out and balanced. However once you realise what element decks are more common for what town, its easy to modify your deck and abuse the poor NPCs who dont know any better.

Also, I seem to also win a card even if I lose a match.

frankthetank 2012-04-26 19:40

@RadthorDax Haha I am really glad to hear that :) That you get a card when you lose is a bug, but let's just call it a feature! :P

xblinkedx 2012-04-27 06:25

This is actually a REALLY good game. Wow, I really enjoyed this. I would love to see something like this remade into a full game. You should really look into that :)
Thanks for this!

artefon 2012-04-28 03:05

Couldn't run on linux.

izzimach 2012-04-28 03:53

The energy mechanic adds a lot of strategy to the overall choices made in combat, and the background music is suprisingly catchy. I really wish I could drag cards around to build decks and buy/sell though.

angrygeometry 2012-04-28 17:21

not bad, a little tricky to understand at first, but a nice effort nonetheless. always cool to see a CCG game

scoopsy 2012-04-28 19:45

Sorry, can't play - on a Mac!

someone 2012-04-28 19:54

Nice to see a card game. Unfortunately I use Linux so I cant play it.

31eee384 2012-04-29 00:50

Interesting ruleset, although I agree with everyone else that it could have been introduced better. Graphics were simple for the cards but did their job. I liked the combination with a world map, too. Theme didn't tie in very well, I think, although it does work literally.

fireblend 2012-04-29 00:51

Pretty cool to see a card game being submitted! I liked the game itself, mainly because it's pretty simple and yet allows for a great deal of strategy. Good job :)

brotherst 2012-05-04 20:22

No one else seems to have the problem, but oddly I couldn't run this on Windows XP. It just crashed at the first hurdle, giving an error report dialog.

dagothig 2012-05-04 21:04

finding exactly how to play the game was not so easy, but once I actually understood how stuff worked, it was a fairly fun game

johnicholas 2012-05-04 21:59

Relation to the theme?

frankthetank 2012-05-06 23:44

@BrothersT: Sorry, I don't know exactly why it crashed at your machine.
Johnicholas: Well, the mini map should represent a tiny world. Of course there are games out there, which have more relation to the theme than mine ;)

rvmook 2012-05-09 17:59

Some more explenation of the whole system would be nice. Didn't understand I had to click 'fight' to play but other then that the layout and controls were very intuitive.

lawrence-esswood 2012-05-09 20:54

I won XD. By the end I just played a x5 card with 10 energy and won on the first move! Just a quick question (not going to read the source), does the AI pick a card at random? If so I'm really unlucky.

frankthetank 2012-05-10 13:50

Yes the AI picks the next cards randomly, could be smarter but hey, it works :P

raptor85 2012-05-11 22:12

can't test, on linux and XNA4 doesnt work

airrider3 2012-05-13 20:58

Hey! Try to make a web/Mac version next time ;)

yselftool 2012-05-13 21:18

Ah, like it really much! Thanks for this! The only one i saw of this type, really enjoyable!
