LD23 — Tiny World

Farming Simulator by spacechase0 2012-05-13T15:22:00

Needed a lot more content. Otherwise, respectable

A Tiny Planet by PabloAlexandre31 2012-05-05T17:17:00

He moves so SLOWLY - and the turning is worse. It also felt a little repetitive. The best bits were actually the bits inbetween, and the sound.

WTF World by Misfit 2012-04-28T19:32:00

Perfect Title. Really. Weirdly the thing I liked the most was the music...

Petri by Tomalla 2012-05-10T15:43:00

Loved it - really sad it had to end so quickly. Felt so polished. I think its simply a case of needed more time, but thats what ludum dare is about eh?

Battle of the Worlds by bigbass1997 2012-05-08T18:23:00

Im not sure what was supposed to happen! I ended up on sort of brown background, I could click a white rectangle and sound text whizzed past. And I could move around in four directions. Nothing else (I did try for a min or so?).

I Should Clean My Keyboard by cmo7 2012-04-24T23:21:00

You had me at the title. Seriously.

Around the World in 80 Seconds (or less) by gormio 2012-04-26T21:35:00

A good start, if you do continue, try not to make it just another racing game. Bring in something new.

Pocket Strife by josefnpat 2012-05-08T18:43:00

Very good! I made a nice square of attack towers and slowly crawled out (with about 15 research into them). I didnt take the whole map but I feel I could have done!
Few points:
I think you got something the wrong way round on the help menu, with the research/storage.

Otherwise what everyone else said. Sound, UI, and AI were what needs polish.

You're still getting a seriously high score.

Enlargement Issues by Vez 2012-05-13T14:47:00

A very nice game, but frustrating to play. It's not worth it to restart every time you run out of potions.

Obviously there were issues with clipping and such - but I would say that was caused by the short time frame in which you had to do this (and it is very impressive for that much time)

Something you could have done was give the player some kind of indication that as to what was going on. What I mean is when you pick things up, or open things, you need either a visual or audio indication that this has happened. Also - what on earth were the black balls XD?

Atomic Galaxy Factory by MrBarnslig 2012-05-07T19:49:00

This was fantastic. Really one of the best.

Quantum Entanglement by icefallgames 2012-04-24T22:57:00

A nice idea - REALLY well put together. I managed all ten levels, nearly got tricked by the colors in the last one though. Thought it looked too easy. On level 7 you only need one of the pairs of mirrors however, intentional?

Last World by Jiddo 2012-04-24T23:14:00

My Favorite one I've played so far! Need a score system to validate my ninja dodging skills.

A Drop of Water by canary40 2012-04-28T19:45:00

mmm - did lack in terms of gameplay. Just adding a 'score' for how long you evaded the evil glob would have given it some progression.

On the other hand, it made me shout "No No NOO!" at my screen as the glob got close, so I guess I had fun XD.

Tiny Contamination, well almost by demogia 2012-04-26T20:50:00

I got 131. Any good? Nice simple game, very cleanly made.

Micro Warfare by CaanonFodda 2012-04-26T14:09:00

I thought it was great idea! It's nice not to have just another shooter or platformer. The only way I can fault it is thats its still in early stages (more time is all it needs). A larger 'body' of cells, and multiple cancers developing would easily make this game progressive, and thats all it needs. Well done!

Exciting Electrons by Tumaini 2012-04-28T17:33:00

A nice idea, but not really a much challenge to it. You simply excite the electron to its highest energy state and wait for its random path down to give the correct wavelenth to 'complete' the level.

One Small Step for a Man by Sup Dood 2012-04-25T10:41:00

Seriously considered moving on because of the size, then I thought it might be really awesome for the same reason. I DL'ed. Give me a few hours XD.

One Small Step for a Man by Sup Dood 2012-04-25T10:52:00

Although I enjoyed this, I quit after being sent back to beginning a second time (I assume this was not the end as I had missed most of the puzzle)

The Tiny Gryphalope by bytegrove 2012-04-28T17:36:00

I don't really see how it fitted in with the theme, very pretty but a bit dissapointing otherwise.

The Lump World by Kralle 2012-04-24T22:39:00

Nice start for an RTS - I see you could have used a little extra time! For some reason I had trouble selecting my little people from my planet, but then it seemed to work fine. Maybe I was just doing it wrong?

Honey Heist by CappaGames 2012-04-24T23:07:00

Sooo difficult to control the bee. Rage quit.

Tiny Card World by Pisti 2012-05-09T20:54:00

I won XD. By the end I just played a x5 card with 10 energy and won on the first move! Just a quick question (not going to read the source), does the AI pick a card at random? If so I'm really unlucky.

Solar Thief by JellyFame 2012-05-13T15:02:00

Great visuals/audio. It was a little too easy to play however. Also, did you know your audio does not loop? (I'm on firefox)

Pluto's Revenge by Hattered 2012-04-28T20:03:00

As others have said - the physics were brilliant. It needed something to work against however, something to rip your collection apart. Also, after a while I lost all the planets and couldn't find any more =(.

hALWAYS by willemhelmet 2012-05-13T15:09:00

Ok? =p. Well, I'm not sure I got the message, but at least it wasnt another platformer.

Tiny Chtulhu by Chtulhu 2012-04-24T22:29:00

Wonderfully silly! A good improvement would be a choice of attack - space mash hurts my thumb. Nice going!

Solenopsis Invicta by CoffeeOnimal 2012-05-13T15:15:00

Could have been much better with a bit of fleshing out. I wasn't sure if I was doing well, but the number in the top right went, so win?

Tiny Huge Planet by Jesper Oskarsson 2012-04-28T19:53:00

I don't have anyone to play this with so I can't rate it. I think however, you are a marvel of a human being. Kudos for you sir.

Tiny Galaxy by Robert Swan 2012-05-05T17:10:00

I really liked it. I felt that there should have been in game 'hints' as to where to find everything, instead of trial and error.

BioBattle by Budda 2012-04-28T20:10:00

It didn't work for me =(. Nothing seemed to load.

We're going to need another Gnomy! by Ghoul159 2012-05-05T17:26:00

mmm - It's shame a few mins were not spent testing it XD. It seems to take 5 gnomes to kill a giant, and you get three more for defeating one. This should be at least that same, or there needs to be a second source (time is got good enough, because the amount of time you have reduces).

LittleEarth's Last Stand by jmf 2012-05-05T17:33:00

Bullets only exploding at the area where you aim is a little wonky imo. I also had nearly voted before I read the comment (Thinking the hit testing just failed). Otherwise, not bad.

Glue Galaxy Rescue! by kirbytails7 2012-05-07T19:24:00

Planets were a little buggy (and I had no audio! I'm in firefox). Otherwise nice game.

Tiny Toy by Meedoc 2012-04-26T14:15:00

I. Have. NO IDEA. what just happened. I'm going to try again, and understand whats going on this time =p.

Tiny Toy by Meedoc 2012-04-26T14:21:00

Sorry, still didn't get it. It may just be me being thick. I learnt a similar thing with my game, that what may be obvious to your way of thinking is very different than for others. At least it looked nice, and I could understand the story!

Tiny Monk by Krisjet 2012-05-10T16:46:00

31450 points (I beat the big boss on my second go.) Made a floor of heal blocks, floor of normal blocks, and then on this island a little house to recover if I needed too. Loved it!

Downsize by Jwatt 2012-04-28T14:28:00

Finished in just over 900 moves. That last level!!!. Nice one, when I first saw it I thought "Oh this idea again", but you really did something new with it.

Downsize by Jwatt 2012-04-28T14:37:00

did it again in 400 XD

Curse Of Grimwood by sorceress 2012-04-26T13:56:00

The graphics were phenomenal! Would have been nice to know I had limited mana XD. There I was spamming away on space, realising about 30 undead through I was out of healing. oops!

Tiny War Of The Worlds by galman 2012-04-25T11:01:00

166 points! Circling your enemies ftw.

Science 101 - The Sewer Chronicles by mrainwater 2012-05-07T19:18:00

MAD XD. I loved the sound, and I was pleased with the mechanics, not just another platformer.

Life in jar by Simple Ghost 2012-04-28T14:04:00

Great little game - played it to the end. Would have been cool if the rocket had shot off. Otherwise one of the best I've seen.

SimHamlet by Thief 2012-05-10T16:10:00

Really needs some work. Menu was annoying, wasn't sure what I was building.

Invasion of the Planet Snatchers! by icefox 2012-05-10T15:57:00

Got me a few planets, sent us spinning into oblivion XD. Nearly had a seisure. AWESOME!

TinyWorldGods by colincapurso 2012-04-26T14:03:00

Had to try this out, being a fan of god games (maybe not so literal?). A funny idea, liked the vocals on the tune.

Just a note, I'm not sure how others feel about this, but I REALLY don't like installers when I'm going to play 50 odd games. Just copy the 'bin' folder and any assets that your game uses and upload that. Thanks

Zombie Fish by Ethanh59 2012-05-08T18:48:00

The fish turned too slowly, and then moved too fast. A little frustrating. Otherwise, solid effort.

The Cube Realms by Zoomyzoom 2012-04-24T22:32:00

I still get the same error as stated above. Sorry!

A Minecraftesque Adventure a`  la Rogue by leedo 2012-05-10T16:04:00

Sad there wasn't anything to do, but a good start!

The return of The Lost Viking vs Tiny Predator IIX by lasseastrup 2012-05-10T16:59:00

When I saw this I thought of The Lost vikings on GBA. It wasn't =(. Could have done with some more variety.

Naos by Sean Hogan (anodyne/even the ocean) 2012-05-05T17:46:00

I'm glad I'm not epileptic. Not sure what just happened, but I think I liked it. I made a green blob!

Archipelago by scottychips 2012-04-24T23:03:00

Scary control system =S. Otherwise nicely done, needs a few more features and it could be a fun game.

The world of Marceline by Pitoum 2012-05-07T19:09:00

I'm not quite sure... what?

Pixel Progression by pighead10 2012-04-28T13:21:00

Played untill CTD. Little confusing at first, but I got it in a after a few goes. Had good fun, I ended up carving out a nice sqaure for myself, letting the enemies come back me, hitting once, stepping once, hitting again. Return to center of square. It would have been nice to have some kind of pause feature, and it wasn't nice having enemies spawning RIGHT on top of you.

Tiny World God by Lawrence Esswood 2012-04-24T10:36:00

Sorry, hosting site was down. please try again!

Tiny World God by Lawrence Esswood 2012-04-25T10:30:00

Fire another planet at it, or use the shockwave spell!

Tiny World God by Lawrence Esswood 2012-04-25T10:53:00

Planets with life sell for more stardust, get a few K people on a planet and you will be laughing.

Tiny World God by Lawrence Esswood 2012-04-26T13:31:00

What about... THE SCRIBBLE TUTORIAL. No I have no idea what came over me to do that. A lot of my friends had the same gripe that you have to guess a bit as to how to play it. Thanks for the feedback, means a lot!

Tiny World God by Lawrence Esswood 2012-04-28T17:16:00

There is a tooltip - use the '?' on the menu.

The Lost Isles by Nilmrots 2012-05-05T17:11:00

404 as well.

Bacteria by tmanrules97 2012-05-05T17:38:00

The inability to choose where to shoot, and not being able to shoot means that the game is too hard. So I wish I knew what happened after getting enough food to evolve. Also, I agree, needs a background (or a movement animation?). Funny ending!

Rat Conquest by Canard Sauvage 2012-05-08T18:55:00

Loved the graphics. Did not love the slow movement/progression. I gave up after I got shot INTO a bulding, killing me off.

trapped. by noddy2006 2012-04-25T10:37:00

As somebody else said, I liked the sound (I can appriciate it al the more for how bad my background tine was...). Enemies do need to jump though - and maybe a little more spawn chance for ammo? Well done!

LD24 — Evolution

Azyle by Darkwater 2012-09-01T14:07:00

An interesting mix of some old ideas. I don't think it matches the theme though.

A scientific experiment by sirGustav 2012-09-01T14:18:00

Skunks can fly?!? I'm not sure what meant what, or what was going on, or who I was or... Skunks can fly!?!

On a more serious note it was fun, but I started out with the rat, had no clue how to hurt the blow spodges o doom apart from a kamikaze headbut. Had more success with the cat, but failed to work out what mating would achieve (I think I killed my sexual partners).

A final note: I loved the graphics, they were pretty swanky XD.

Evolve & Conquer by Ponte 2012-09-01T12:33:00

I couldn't really get into it. The list of text is just too much to read through while trying to play a fast paced game. All the player can really be concerned with is the number on each planet, and it was hard to work out how that actually affected things.

Tad's Adventure by dalbinblue 2012-08-27T21:28:00

Fantastic, a great use of the theme. I too loved the graphics, nothing like nostalgia.

Grow by kevincorrigan 2012-08-27T22:47:00

Originally I felt very negatively about this game, but it grew on me XD. It's sad you didn't have to make more.

A few comments:
A little bit of text saying which keys to press would have been a life saver. The mouse pointer should also move as the user does. When you complete a level, the game lags horribly when trying to click the 'Yes' button. You can just wonder of the green square and get lost.

I was going to say the music was great, but I noticed that you wrote 'Music Provided'. Does this mean you did not author it? I'm not sure if this is against the rules or not, but I personally feel it defeats the object, even if you do have rights to use it.

Neural Nodes by Kmad 2012-09-01T13:18:00

Wacky game! Loved the art style, short but sweet and matched the theme.

Coin-Operated Afternoon by Pierrec 2012-08-27T22:17:00

I didn't really get how it involved evolution, but it was highly innovative anyway!

A side note - I also did not hear any sound.

Unnatural Selection by goffmog 2012-09-01T13:25:00

So wait, we evolve the creatures to defend themselves and then they can't. Whaa.. why? Nicely built I must say;

"Natural" Selection by r4m0n 2012-09-01T12:28:00

I got a score of 568. However, I never really saw any upgrades (I got a lazer at one point). In terms of naturel selection, If I killed the stream at the top, they would go down the bottom, and the other way round. There should really be something to stop me just flying through the middle.

Pulled Out by atlantian 2012-09-01T14:26:00

I'm slightly worried about the use of such assets. It's not that they break the rules, but for a game with which the best feature (imo) is the nice setting (and audio I may add), that you didn't create that kinda defeats the point. The aiming didn't feel too natural to me. It seemed to aim at the center of the screen, and if you there should have been a reticule. Because the way the spear is held does not look like it would be thrown in that way.
I also think that your link to evolution was tenous, upgrades is a throw away method of getting the theme into an unrelated game.
Sorry to sound so negative! Its still a great effort, any ludum dare entry is. Good luck with the baby!

Evolving Empire by Spaceoff 2012-09-01T13:57:00

CONSTRICT HORDE XD. Bashed 20 of em out and swamped my island. Did some building, got all of the techs.

A fantastic effort considering the time, I was blown away by how much you had done. The only thing that was not fantastic was the right click menus, but then what can you expect given all the time making the game? A*.

Mutasite 1991: Attack of the Mutagenic Parasites by Cake_Catastrophe 2012-09-01T12:16:00

A solid game, I got about 6 levels in before I could progress no further.the problem was how you got the mutations. Although you are correct strong mutations should stay with the player, this only works where you have a group present actively competing against each other. Otherwise you just get a mutation that was good enough for the easier level.

I ended up with no con, no life, and no speed. Yet an ungodly range. It basically made it impossible. If you wanted players to really evolve, you should give them all the traits, and then permenantly assign the one that made them complete a level the fastest. This would give a better 'natural selection'.

EVO - X by GFM 2012-08-27T22:28:00

The damage system ruined it a bit, I mostly got hurt by attacking more than I hurt others. Otherwise, a nicely put together game.
