Some instructions would be nice. I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to be doing.

Some instructions would be nice. I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to be doing.
There is a read me :) Would have made a tutorial, but not enough time unfortunetly
***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***
When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.
Please consider making a browser game next time.
I managed to move some red guys to the white moon and won... I guess that's all there is to it?
Nice start for an RTS - I see you could have used a little extra time! For some reason I had trouble selecting my little people from my planet, but then it seemed to work fine. Maybe I was just doing it wrong?
So you hold q/w and left click on a planet to select dudes right? I sent my miners to a planet on the 3rd level (where your opponent is introduced) and then they stayed there and I couldn't select them to make them come back with their gold.
Oh also the audio sounded like a naked guy sliding down a 45 degree angle roof and a car engine. Not sure if that was intentional. But I think it's a good commentary on how awful war is.
*glass roof
I liked the game idea, but the audio was really grating. For next time, I'd very highly recommend putting together a basic html page and hosting your flash on Dropbox - that way more people can play your game (and Mac users are not deterred).
dans laughed at your comment describing the music :D I learned a lot from this LD, will surely host it somewhere online next time and make some music in LSDJ.
If that audio was intentional, you'd deserve zero rating :/
Also, when you made flash game, why don't you post it somewhere online so we don't have to download and extract it? even dropbox would be enough.
Was 4 a clock in the morning, wasnt thinking straight
I really liked this entry! I do wish it had more levels, though.
The gameplay was pretty interesting, although it seemed quite buggy. Clicking to select or buy units seemed okay occasionally but randomly didn't work sometimes.
The audio could've done with some more variety, but I actually loved the ambient soundscape approach you took. It sounded like something out of a weird, scary sci-fi film and really helped to set the scene.
Certainly if there had been more audio along those lines (and more levels), I could've happily played for hours.
It also would've been cool to have some very quiet sound effects for game events, like distant laser shots or mining sounds.
Overall I was really drawn into the game universe you created, and I'd love to see this game get fleshed out!
Web link doesn't work for me..
Had a lot of issues with the selection of units. Seems to work randomly some times but not always. The sound is better left off. But the idea is good and I have seen a few titles that implement it which I have found fun. ^^
I like the art, especially the little guys orbiting the planet. I had real trouble selecting units, maybe because I'm on an older laptop.
The theme is strong here and there's promise, it looks like you just needed a little more time.
"The Lump"
Web version appears to be bugged--as soon as I get past the first screen, text appears that seems to be the first two words of the title but the screen resolution cuts off the last word... And I don't know how to get past that screen...
I like the theme and I think I can see a neat idea, but there wasn't really any game here. Also, the soundtrack made me want to claw my eardrums out :/
Yikes, the audio made me flinch every time it spiked up. Good ideas here, and pretty nice animations and things, just seems like you needed some more time to put it all together.
I like the concept and core mechanic of the game. The controls could have been stated a little more clearly (I didn't know to click the planet while holding Q/W). But the game concept is solid, I'm sure you could polish it up with time. The music was creepy, I think it would fit in a horror game.
Also the game bugged out for me and all of my attacker went off the screen into nowhere after I told them to go to a planet. After that It wouldn't let me buy any more units and my miners were mining a planet forever without ever returning.
Took a lot of experimentation to get the units to buy / select, but cool 48 hour attempt at an rts!
I eventually figured this out and managed to beat all 3 levels. The controls were really unintuitive and the game seemed quite buggy. Sometimes the attackers would just keep flying past the planet off into space. The miners would automatically come back the first time to drop off their resources, but after that they would just keep mining without returning (and I sometimes couldn't select them to make them return with their resources).
This was a good start and I think if you fixed the bugs and made a good AI for the opponent this could be a really fun game!
I couldn't play this because half the game was cutoff by ads and "share me!" links.
The web link is fixed
Basically unplayable since there are no instructions! What am I supposed to do?
]:-(
I passed the first level by chance. I think this might be a decent game if I knew how to play it. The audio is wild.
Jeez, the audio is painful. Good game otherwise though.
Instructions instructions instructions! I like the idea, but the horrendous screeching in the background and the glitchyness when all my units flew off screen kinda ruined it for me...
Game has potential. Plenty of bugs though.
In the first level, on of my attackers decided it didn't like the target planet and wanted to leave the universe.
Also had problems sending miners to a planet.
I managed to get to the third level, but the controls were a bit buggy, so I had a hard time selecting the ships at times, and eventually got stuck with two selected miners, but was unable to make them go anywhere. Reminds me of a game about seeds that I played on the playstation, though it was a bit different from the levels I played, in that it had an enemy.
My whole attackers unit leave the map for a better place :( I think the game mechanic seems cool, but the opponent is not moving and there's a lot of bugs where I can't perform actions I should be able to ( can't select attackers/worker when they're present for example )
The mechanics are there, but everything to do with units was terribly buggy, mainly on the last level. Their was hardly any content, only three levels that seemed like introductory levels. And once I'd finished, it just kept playing level one.
The audio was... horrid. It sounds like some sort grinding wheel, with a motor in the background and then a guitar of some sorts shows up for a few seconds.
Also, in-game instructions would've been nice. I eventually figured out how everything works by the description on this page.
I'm not trying to sound overly negative, this is just what I'm observing.
RTS made in 48 hr, it's pretty cool I think.
Nice idea, but needs more polishing. Indeed, I can imagine it being a full game.
Sometimes selecting works incorrectly. And sometimes units headed to a planet simply miss it and fly into space.
+ the sound! twas really really eerie (5/5)
+ simple graphics
+ Eufloria-like feeling
- the control scheme is cumbersome
- 1 pixel particles are really small to see
- don't use primary colours - they're bad!
