My Kid Dropped The Planet by MadGnomeGamer 2012-04-28T19:33:00

I like the premise, but trying to kill all the Whos on a given level can get repetitive. The graphics were simple, but there was enough variety to differentiate the levels. Overall, it was fun!

(It wouldn't register choosing "evil" after finishing the last level, so I could only see 'Ending B'.)

Secrets of The Universe by Hazematman 2012-04-29T04:08:00

I didn't realize you could shoot until the boss either. The second time around, I killed the zombie on WPlanet only to find it had been just the one zombie the whole time. Secrets!

Hmm, 'adb install' is saying it's an invalid apk. I'll work on fixing that. I might also try porting it to LÖVE this evening (assuming that's allowed under 'porting' in the rules).

I targeted Android because I was fixated on the idea of controlling Pluto by tilting the device, which I had to drop because it's something the Corona Simulator doesn't simulate. I should have stuck with what I know, but at least I've finally tried Lua.

Seems Corona only supports the ARMv7 processor. I was able to install and run successfully using an emulated ARMv7 device.

I've ported the Corona code to LOVE and added links to .love and .exe files. I kept the port as faithful to the original as I could manage, so they should be more or less equivalent.

I appreciate the feedback! This was my first time participating; I ended up biting off more than I could chew, but it's been a fun experience.

@MadGnomeGamer, Jiddo: In porting to LOVE, I had to use a more permissive test for attachment (I couldn't get the original method to work), which seems to make large assemblies much less stable.

@Lawrence Esswood: The planets are supposed to spawn more or less continuously just off-screen, but I have noticed it gets difficult to find any as you get larger.

@Ovno: Your suggestion of adding music immediately brought The Planets to mind, then I remembered Pluto isn't in The Planets. Holst!

Haxe Planets by jfroco 2012-04-29T04:37:00

Nice take on one-button control. Walking-man's head collides with more than its fair share, but I think the constant jump-height added nicely to the puzzle element. That floaty guy at the top of level two needs to be tried for crimes against humanity.

Poor Pluto's Revenge by DavidErosa 2012-04-28T16:47:00

Fun! Dodging to capture asteroids in order to attack was a nice twist and the opponents' patterns really need to take advantage of that when you expand on this. Great humor!

Our Small World by TellusE 2012-04-27T17:36:00

I like the animation for the farm and the music fits the mood well. The upgrade system is too broken to get a sense of how I should be making choices (the number below each is a wisdom threshold rather than a cost and wisdom generally grew faster than this threshold) and there doesn't seem to be any reason to make use of the bless/punish events (does luck affect a building's wisdom output?). It could be more engaging if you provided more feedback to the player (e.g., actively indicating when an event is available at a building).

Moonmen: Journey to the Giant World by Daisuke909 2012-04-29T03:09:00

Fun little platformer. You can't jump if you're moving against a wall, but it seemed easy to control otherwise. Bullets might be moving a little too fast to really dodge effectively. I liked the little ditty at the end after the rocket launches.

Tiny World God by Lawrence Esswood 2012-04-28T23:42:00

That was fun! I didn't know what to do at first, then saw Chaoseed's comment about the hidden menu at the bottom. I was playing the web version (filefactory wouldn't let me download it) and had to scroll down to see the bottom, which didn't help. Once I got past that, the controls were pretty intuitive. I like how asteroids increase the size of what they hit; it helps keep things from stagnating.

Count me in as one who'd like to see you expand on this.
