It runs really slow in firefox, don't know about other browsers, but it looks nice and the music is interesting.

I like the aiming feel of the game.
But for some reason, the game is very laggy, not matter what browser you use.

Game is laggy (because its bloated with terrain objects) and almost entirely made of built in assets from unity. Try some creativity.

Thanks for your feedback. I have fixed the performance bug. Regarding creativity, This was a part time entry, I have a new 2 week old baby :). I did use some unity assets, as they are part of the engine and everyone has access to them, i didn't think they broke the rules. I spent what time I did have 'creating' a game.

I'm slightly worried about the use of such assets. It's not that they break the rules, but for a game with which the best feature (imo) is the nice setting (and audio I may add), that you didn't create that kinda defeats the point. The aiming didn't feel too natural to me. It seemed to aim at the center of the screen, and if you there should have been a reticule. Because the way the spear is held does not look like it would be thrown in that way.
I also think that your link to evolution was tenous, upgrades is a throw away method of getting the theme into an unrelated game.
Sorry to sound so negative! Its still a great effort, any ludum dare entry is. Good luck with the baby!

I think actually you're supposed to create assets from scratch in the 48 hours. You can reuse some code that everyone has access to (unity's built in scripts and shaders) but with textures/models/sounds/etc you should at least modify them in some way. I originally meant for the creatures in my game to be furry, but dropped that idea because I just couldn't make my own textures that would work properly with the fur shader I found in the asset store.
