Nice and original game idea!
Also fits well with the theme.
Quite difficult though and it lagged a bit on my computer (Firefox 11, Ubuntu 12.04, Flash 11.2).
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → Users → Tumaini

Nice and original game idea!
Also fits well with the theme.

Nice but very difficult! :)
Or maybe it's me who's bad at aiming.
I managed to jump to another droplet once and got a whooping score of 239!
Very well made game that goes well with the theme.
The end was a little weird, but it was interesting figuring out the combinations.
Nice game and great that it's cross platform.
One bug I noticed was that if during a game you go to the menu and then click on New Game, it will not reset all things. E.g. there will be lots of enemies, you statistics are not reset and there can be larvae in the ground.
The best game I've rated yet (10 others at least), though I'm a big fan of the Settlers "genre" of games.
I had some bugs with a few houses not working on a later level (was it 10-11?) - they couldn't be turned off and noone worked in them.
Very well made game mechanics and run really well!
Thank you all for trying it!
There was a critical bug with a shader for OS X that should now be fixed - it could perhaps explain the crashes on "Start".
@De10ter: Unfortunately I started on in game docs too late and never had time to finish them properly. This is also why the Credits button does nothing.
@caranha: Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed, advancing to the next level depends fairly much on luck, but you have a greater chance if you excite the electron to certain levels.
Unfortunately there are only two levels, so after you complete the second one, it just loads that one again and again. If it had only been a 49h compo! :)
I will most definitely work more on this, as I had several more ideas on how to make it better and more research to do and I didn't have the time for it during the compo.
This game will probably be a mini-game (along with other mini-game ideas I have) in a larger game I'm working on, in the next version.
@MarekkPie: It requires OpenGL2.
@Raptor85: Yes, the tutorial was thrown together in the last minute and was unfortunately not finished.
@piterlouis: No, credits are not working.
@ComaToes: Thanks! I agree that the game mechanics can be improved quite a bit and I hope to be able to do that soon. A fully-fledged version will be available at a later time! :)
@Mach60KAS: Thank you! Indeed, only two levels, that was the thing I think I would do differently if I did it again - set aside time for making more levels.
I hope it can in the future become a small educational game to be used in schools (and elsewhere) to get more people interested in science.
Nice, played it to the end.
No lag in FF on Ubuntu (that I noticed).
Fits well with the theme.
The game ran well and the controls worked fine, although I was unsure of what to do.
After getting a yellow key in the first room, I went out to the right to explore and when I got back I couldn't open that door anymore (it was not closed again).
The sounds were a bit random (not everytime you jumped e.g.), but a nice game none the less!
Fun little game!
Well thought-out game.
Works well on FF (though no sound, as stated).
It's fairly challenging and could probably be replayed many times while still being interesting.
It looks very nice, but unfortunately not runnable on Ubuntu 12.04.
There's no Unity Web Player for Linux and the Windows executable doesn't work in Wine.
Nice game mechanic, though I'm not sure of the end goal.
Nice casual game, though I wasn't very good at it, I must admit.
Interesting goal and nice that you succeeded!
Nice game, though very difficult.
Once I figured out the controls and that you had to stand on the middle of the queen to feed her, it became possible to venture outside (and get fruits), but those cats/rats were fast!
Very nice and simple game mechanics!
High casual replayability value.
Yay, I won! :)
It was a little difficult to grasp the aim of the game at first, but when I got the "see everything" item, I noticed there was actually an enemy that was hiding from me.
I then read the description for epidemic (of which I had 14) and that was it.
It was actually pretty fun to play, though it could be elaborated on to provide even more interesting mechanics.
No flickering here on Ubuntu 12.04 Firefox 11.
Perhaps you could include an .sh file for Linux.
This should do:
java -Djava.library.path=. -jar Rockland.jar
I really like that you used Java though, as it's cross platform! There are tons of games here I can't play on Linux (mostly Unity ones).
Overall a pretty well made and scoped game in line with the theme.
