Very fine prototype. It made me feel a bit sick after a while but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Very fine prototype. It made me feel a bit sick after a while but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Great art, good luck for the full featured version =)
I think the core gameplay would be much better with a wider track. Impossible situations arise very often with only 3 tiles.
No bugs and interesting 'look back idea'. This is still a very decent entry, especially for only 8 hours of work.
Gameplay was somewhat buggy and I think slowing ennemies down triggers the wrong feedback loop. Waves are dangerous only when they spawn and become trivial after a few ennemies are shot. It would be more challenging if killing ennemies made the other ones FASTER.
Apart from this, the story is very pleasant. I havent seen many games putting so much focus on it. Great job with it =)
Very good gameplay mechanic. It becomes very fun to play after mastering the wall sticking technique.
*Thank you* all for the precious feedback. The compliments make me feel warm and fuzzy =)
@Andrew
Valid point. I guess I implemented double jump because I like providing players with more possibilities to get immediate feedback following input. I should have made a better use of it in the level design and maybe save it for the later levels.
@RichMakeGame
Don't worry, there were only 15 of them (+ the ending screen) so you did not miss much. I love Stratus by the way !
@DrPetter
I wholeheartedly agree with your analysis of the jumping mechanic problem, thanks a lot for helping me putting words on it.
The collision bugs are much more fun than a timestep problem, the issue is that the moving platforms were coded using a display hack of my framework, and they're not actually moving in the game's world. This is what lead to issues for collision detection with them. Sorry about that.
The black screen bug can be worked around by waving your mouse over the applet. It is triggered when you move your mouse out of the game during a level intro and then press a key to skip it. It has been fixed in the post-compo version though.
Great humor and use of the theme, I loved the dialogs. Difficulty was good too, neither too hard nor too easy. The blocky graphics and (lack of) sounds could use some post-compo love =)
Not working here for me. Here's what happens when I launch the exe : http://i.imgur.com/SV9mv.png
I'm using Windows 7 SP1.
Solid entry. The written comments and the smell sound are the highlight of the game for me =)
The respawn was a bit confusing when it happened but great job anyway.
Kudos for using Arch Linux, my favorite distro.
To be honest I thought it was a bit frustrating to play because level 2 and 4 are way too hard and because there's very little feedback on your actions in all of the levels.
I love the idea of escaping the game and it's great that there are four games to play though. It's a good take on the theme.
FANTASTIC art, great execution. The level design is really badass. Snowboard backflips ? check. Jetpacks ? check. Rocket Launchers ? check.
It's very spectacular. I wish players were more encouraged to use the rewind feature to build stylish sequences, but it's already great in this form.
*EDIT :An epic music with wobbly guitar would have been a nice addition too.
Very original entry. I loved your take on the theme ; good job.
I think it's so short it's funny. I adore the cute pixel art and sounds in this game <3
Gameplay felt very clunky but I liked the horse.
Super annoying sound effects but good writing and mood =)
Good iea to make a stealth game with the theme. No bugs here but it was so hard I did not manage to reach the end.
Excellent take on the theme. Too bad it is so short and also a bit lacking in the art department.
Thank you for playing and leaving comments =)
I agree about the physics being tricky to handle, this was on purpose but it seems I went overboard.
@dr_soda : I figured it would make sense to do this kind of jump because I think that's how you do it to achieve maximum distance. Maybe it doesnt work with a full plate armor though >.<
Regarding multiplatform, I can not export it to other targets because I used the Flash9 drawing API (the one in Bacchus, my basecode) rather than a generic one like NME. I hope one day I'll have time to switch Bacchus from Flash only to NME.
Nice graphics, cool music (even though it wont loop in Firefox).
The game was very hard to understand at the beginning (even with the instructions) but when I finally understood and turned it into an epic battlefield it became much better =)
Great graphics and audio. I like that there is a lot of feedback to player input, it feels good.
My main concerns are the broken physics (stopping mid air) and the randomness of the difficulty (level 3 is much easier than all others for instance). A solid entry anyway =)
Is there anything to do when I can see the wooden bits ?
Looks cool anyway, nice sounds too.
Last minute rating. Good ending!
Great idea, cool radar sound. I thought it was super hard because I'm a bit stupid and the game mechanic was a bit repetitive. Solid entry overall.
I liked the swarm mechanic a lot. Camera needs some love =)
Nice game. The game mechanics are a bit strange because the more you play the easier it gets.
I think part of the control's clunkiness is due to the character's low speed in comparison with his animation (very fast run cycle).
Fantastic soundtrack!
Crashed on me after I put down some horses and went to breed new ones. Was fun before that (but it's hard to tell horses apart) =)
Nothing happened when I clicked "Come in!". I was enjoying the story =)
All I get an error message saying "RPGVXAce RTP is required to play this game" =(
Nice take on the theme. I was going to complain about zombies but I see you had a good reason for it =)
Interesting concept. I think it could be really great if it was slightly harder, and some sound would help too =)
Very very frustrating but great humor.
Brilliant! I loved every moment of it.
What's the boardgame in the submarine called?
Finally I game I was able to finish!
Great mechanics and good execution (except music). Balance is a tad off but good enough for a 48 hours effort =)
Troll game?
@turnip > If the loading bar was still on screen it means it was still loading. Some files are bigger than others so the last bit may take a while. If you were on the title screen you just have to click it.
@camdensegal > I was considering adding an electric eel that would kill you if you touch it but I didn't want to make the game confusing by blending ennemies and objectives. I like the idea of different environments, underwater caves could be fun. Thanks for your input.
@others > Thanks for playing!
Very cute dodo and difficulty very well-balanced (this is very rare in LD games!). Audio is a bit disappointing.
The audio is nerve-racking but the concept is promising. Couldn't beat level 3 =(
Some good fun, some great writing and tons of cats. Very solid entry, congratulations!
My only complaints would be that the game may get a bit tedious if you don't control the population very strictly and that overlapping cats are hard to manage.
I like the drawing mechanics but I felt the game was becoming easier over time instead of harder. Cool game!
Staying small is the way to go!
Found a bug, when I lose and try to play again, it says game over straight away.
Interesting idea but it got tedious after a while because the gameplay was always the same.
A bit clunky and very hard but I like the idea of changing character with just a keypress.
Not much of a game but I liked seeing the packs of dots herding =)
I did read the readme.txt but this was still a bit too complicated for me =(
I can see there is potential though, it probably needs some polish and more feedback on player actions to become enjoyable.
I loved the walrus model!
Very cute game, I like the funny speech audio.
OP strat: tell customers you are giving them complementary cheese sticks after you fix they order.
Very funny concept and solid art! The laser part was a little slow and unfun, but I would love a longer version of this with more cows to deliver!
Great mechanics and love the polished level transitions!
Very cute! I liked the chill vibe and no-fail-state exploration.
I struggled a bit with the controls but the art is outstanding!
Solid game loop and very cute art. Also loved punching the nabbers to get packages back.
