Fun little game :)
It's a good start but would have been more fun if you added in new mechanics and symbols as the player progresses.
That's the second time a game requires me to push the magic key and I couldn't find it. Can't believe I fell for it again!
I like the fast pace of the game. But gave up on the first level because I got killed a lot due to weird hit detection.
Couldn't find the choppa.
Couldn't really get into it. Died a lot mostly due to pure luck and never figured out an effective way to find the exit.
It is really annoying that my in-transit ball disappears if I fire a new one. I never get a feeling that my balls connect with the enemy.
I tried to play it in Xcode iPhone Simulator but it seems to break it. I 'win' by doing nothing, as soon as I touch the ball veers off and I lose.
Love the game, especially his facial expressions and the introduction of new mechanics.
Thanks for all the great feedback so far!
The final win condition made me smile, very clever. Though I hoped the raft building had more of an effect on the game.
I love how the game can flip so easily from peacefully floating and dodging platforms to manically struggling to catch up with the water.
Probably could be clearer on what projectiles are harmful and which are just background. I like the 'Playing tennis with the boss' mechanic.
Could have used a lot more work. Really needs a better level generator.
Nice concept, but is there a way to lose?
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
I've researched what would happen if you would actually try to go outside. Contrary what movies would suggest you won't bloat up with bulging eyes and than explode in a fine bloody mist. You could actually remain conscious for up to ten seconds and make a full recovery within 90 seconds!
The more pressing scientific issues are of course why he wasn't just blown out of the airlock and how he could change his direction in space by just flapping his arms.
Answer: Future technology!
For those interested, there is actually a backstory to the game. If I had some more time I would do the exposition in-game, but alas you will all have to do with this comment:
All our protagonist knows is that thousands of years ago the solar system was stricken by a horrible disaster. Mankind build a giant arkship to send a population to the nearest hospitable star system. As he wakes up due to a power failure he finds that all other pods are empty. The big question then becomes wether he was abandoned or if his fellow travelers are in dire need of saving.
I ran out of time when I finished the power failure part and never properly introduced the mystery of the missing people.
Loved the ridonculous depth of field setting you used.
Seemed a bit unfair and repetitive to find the exit, but otherwise very nice and oddly scary game.
