LD21 — Escape

Escape the Space Nazis by Staggy 2011-08-23T17:21:00

Fun little game :)

Hello?? by Jhelle 2011-08-23T16:12:00

I really dig the style and the fact that objects appear as they are described. Could have a bit more of a challenge to it.

Escape! by DivideByZero 2011-08-23T15:51:00

It's a good start but would have been more fun if you added in new mechanics and symbols as the player progresses.

The Power of Escape by BurnZeZ 2011-08-23T17:32:00

That's the second time a game requires me to push the magic key and I couldn't find it. Can't believe I fell for it again!

Forever Running by Fenmar 2011-08-23T16:42:00

I like the fast pace of the game. But gave up on the first level because I got killed a lot due to weird hit detection.

Sunrise by Miasmir 2011-08-23T16:37:00

Good concept, but the sunrise was too slow to be a menace and I was dying constantly due to slippery controls on the little platforms. Still managed to finish it :)

"Get to da choppa!" by itsarabbit 2011-08-23T16:47:00

Couldn't find the choppa.

Lost In the Shadows by JoeCool 2011-08-23T18:21:00

Couldn't really get into it. Died a lot mostly due to pure luck and never figured out an effective way to find the exit.

You've Seen This in the Movies by matt9837 2011-08-23T17:41:00

It is really annoying that my in-transit ball disappears if I fire a new one. I never get a feeling that my balls connect with the enemy.

Bubble Jump by onefineline 2011-08-24T21:01:00

I tried to play it in Xcode iPhone Simulator but it seems to break it. I 'win' by doing nothing, as soon as I touch the ball veers off and I lose.

Asplosions! by blahoink 2011-08-23T17:52:00

Love the game, especially his facial expressions and the introduction of new mechanics.

The Grind by Deraj 2011-08-23T16:06:00

Love the idea, but I feel powerless to really get an effective strategy going. The suits move more or less move randomly so I end up hiding at one spot for a long time.

Office Escape by PaulWagener 2011-08-26T18:48:00

Thanks for all the great feedback so far!

The Sonata of Crayfish Jeff. by shockham 2011-08-23T15:42:00

The final win condition made me smile, very clever. Though I hoped the raft building had more of an effect on the game.

Damn My Stubby Little Legs by oatsbarley 2011-08-23T16:22:00

I love how the game can flip so easily from peacefully floating and dodging platforms to manically struggling to catch up with the water.

Red, The Dragon by Kiloku 2011-08-23T15:36:00

Probably could be clearer on what projectiles are harmful and which are just background. I like the 'Playing tennis with the boss' mechanic.

DarkRun by dotslasch 2011-08-23T15:55:00

I'm at a loss at what the controls are. Couldn't get the second cube.

Cave Escape! by Natedog9145 2011-08-23T15:59:00

Could have used a lot more work. Really needs a better level generator.

AWAYGET by mklee 2011-08-23T16:48:00

Very nice, like the art style.

LD22 — Alone

Bomb Defuse by Kaphonaits 2011-12-19T18:55:00

Nice concept, but is there a way to lose?

Alone in the Ark by PaulWagener 2011-12-20T12:33:00

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
I've researched what would happen if you would actually try to go outside. Contrary what movies would suggest you won't bloat up with bulging eyes and than explode in a fine bloody mist. You could actually remain conscious for up to ten seconds and make a full recovery within 90 seconds!
The more pressing scientific issues are of course why he wasn't just blown out of the airlock and how he could change his direction in space by just flapping his arms.
Answer: Future technology!

Alone in the Ark by PaulWagener 2011-12-20T12:58:00

For those interested, there is actually a backstory to the game. If I had some more time I would do the exposition in-game, but alas you will all have to do with this comment:

All our protagonist knows is that thousands of years ago the solar system was stricken by a horrible disaster. Mankind build a giant arkship to send a population to the nearest hospitable star system. As he wakes up due to a power failure he finds that all other pods are empty. The big question then becomes wether he was abandoned or if his fellow travelers are in dire need of saving.

I ran out of time when I finished the power failure part and never properly introduced the mystery of the missing people.

I Need Someone by Tony Coculuzzi 2011-12-25T10:15:00

Loved the ridonculous depth of field setting you used.

G is for Grue, likely to eat you by veloc1 2011-12-25T10:03:00

Seemed a bit unfair and repetitive to find the exit, but otherwise very nice and oddly scary game.
