oh noooo! java game, made in LWJGL, but no linux so's!!! oh come on!
Wow... can't believe you made an GBA game... but I cant get the emulator working... :(
Drabiter: Yes, its a pity, the time wasn't enough in the end :/
J0n, no mouse is not involved in the game, you need to press enter to start the game.
Kvisle, thank you :D. Yes, you need to get "the trick" out of that :P my personal tip: just wait for trees to grow, and then cut them and put them all into the Builder to build up your defense for your first night, after having alot of towers, its really easy.
De10ter: don't forget to leave trees to grow. If you haven't got any trees left, there will never grow any new trees...
uprightpath: strange... cant reproduce that bug...
Seppi: Erm... did you start it with the .bat or .sh files? If you're not on a windows or linux system, try to start from commandline with java -Djava.awt.opengl=true -jar WhoStoleMyPixels.jar
ChrisWhitman & omaha: Yes... its impossible to win the game, if you have no trees. During development, i realized that, and what I tried to do, was, if you place Grass blocks, you have a chance for trees to grow on them. But unless you have some, you can't do that (and you need wood to crate grass :/).
tequibo: Haha :D. That post is really awesome! :D I'll try to improve at that point. I'm not a native English speaker, and I'm not too old, so it's not really easy for me...
vrigrid: yes... I acctually figured that out after having finished the game :/
bastiandantilus: fix coming! :D
10WonXero10: Huge comments are the best! Also, that was a very constructive comment, and I really love to hear, that people like my game :)
Currently I'm struggling on developing this game further, but it might get victing of my multiplayer-testing :D
(That means: multiplayer maybe coming!)
jrasmussen24, thank you for your comment.
1. Restarting:
Maybe you walked close the border, if so, you won, and just accadently clicked the screen away.
2. The Instructions:
I think I wrote it into the instructions, but I'm not sure :D
3. The Turret rings:
Yeah... got that too, AFTER the compo <.< I kind of have a post-compo version, with some very little changes, for example, the circle around turrets is NEVER drawn. When you carry a Turret, a circle is drawn around the player. That makes it fun to build huge islands with lots of turrets ;)
Also, for example, I added the ability to remove Turrets, and some more things just like that...
Fun game, but It hardly playable for me, because I'm on linux and flash is really slow for 3d... But graphics were good and gameplay was kinda ... how to say that... lol? :D
Amazing graphics. Really good, you created that in 48h!!!
Strange end of the game for me:
I just built a shrine on top of a wood tile, upgraded it, and suddenly I won...
I really like the light effect. But that game needs more action. You just look onto the screen to find ungrown plants, and then you keep watching... I think you need more experience, but other than that: Keep it up! (I love light effects :> :D)
I don't really got how to play that game. It seems you are only able to watch... But I won. And I got less Points then my enemy... which is strange...
I like it, but I don't get, how it fits into the theme. Also, its kind of really short. There are no more levels...
would be fun, if you would have continued that graphical style.. but as I read it seems that that was, because of your missing time...
One of the best entrys played until now :)
Lol... already that "Insert Coint" made me laugh at the first moment :DD
The Graphics are really nice, that must have taken a lot of time, but i think the main Idea for that game is missing... something that makes this game unique from gameplay perspective... (Also liked the "glass" effect alot)
Loved the look of the SUN and the MOON. That music on the title screen reminds me of something... Have I ever heard it already?
I really like planet physics, but I think it is missing some other "features"... But best of this game is the MUSIC! wow... really...
I don't get what it has to do with a Tiny World... maybe you should have mentioned that...
I think, this acctually is a really good game. The thing is, as Terra already said, I also thought that the red sqare would represent my position in the world. Also, I think the Graphics aren't really that good. They should have been better. And (I know for a game of that "kind" it would maybe be not that good) you should maybe have added more kinds of Tiles... Overall acctually not as bad, as I thought in the beginning.
But everything was in the taxi... haha :DDD
Really good game. Bad it's only for linux, and you also need allegro.
You could have added something to the story like "The world exploded and then there were only many little parts of the world left.". That'd be fun.
Oh one more thing: not very much content... could have been more.
Really liked to be able to crush the Glass of the sphere :D
Really nice graphics!
I really have had no Idea what to do there. I only shot sometimes, heard shots and zoomed in and out, watching what happens...
Really fun and well made game. I didn't acctually got, how to build houses, ... :( though I have read your description. Maybe I missed something... Also, art style is fun :D
Nice Game,
I really liked, it was done in LWJGL, that gave me up to 500 fps :P, but I found it really hard to concentrate on both the upper ones and the lower ones and I didn't got, how to make a phone call... Also, after loosing, I want to be able to skip the "introduction"...
