you dont need a static compile, just pack these .so files with it in the zip

liballegro_image.so.5.0 => not found
liballegro_acodec.so.5.0 => not found
liballegro_audio.so.5.0 => not found
liballegro_primitives.so.5.0 => not found

So this "Linux"... is it a console or what? :D

waschnick 2012-04-25 19:27

It's the 25th and I'm stilling missing the win-version :)

pixel_3 2012-04-26 22:45

most people use windows or mac(even though linux is best imo)
next time, try making it available with more Operating systems.

naufr4g0 2012-04-27 18:45

I'd like to try this game, but I've no linux distro installed. I'm trying to compile the game for windows from source.

remeh 2012-04-28 10:13

Hey guys. Sorry about the Windows build, I didn't have any free time before... I'm on it right now but I've a segfault that I don't even understand... I must have done something really bad somewhere because at the moment I can't even find the source of the problem...
I've succeed to setup (on linux) a cross-compiler for the Windows build, but well, I must code and compile on Linux and try the result on a Windows vm and look through printf to find the bug :D
I have one more hour to spend on it but after that, it could sound like the premature death of the ludum dare galactic taxi...
Next time, I'll make sure that my toolchain for different OSes is ready before the LD... lesson learnt.

r3ason 2012-04-28 17:39

Couldn't play it and rate it as I sadly only have a Windows machine at the moment. Watched the gameplay video, though, and I really like it! Lesson learned for me: have a Linux box setup for next LD so I can play cool games like this!

vrld 2012-04-28 18:08

Overall a fun game, though a little too easy - I played to a score of about 5000 and then decided it was more fun killing the customers. Maybe a time limit for delivering the customers would have been good. Other than that: Solid entry. You should really try to provide a windows build so that more people can play it. It's worth it.

mnem 2012-04-30 12:00

It looks like a fun little game from the video :) Unfortunately I'm on a Mac, so I can't play it.

pdyxs 2012-04-30 12:30

sadly, linux is the only OS i'm not currently running...

davedobson 2012-04-30 12:31

Can't play it - no Linux - sorry...

angrygeometry 2012-04-30 12:56

i'm afraid i only have windows! sorry

speciesunknown 2012-04-30 14:25

How about I do you a deal - ill port it to windows for you, if you put a nice link to my game somewhere in your description :P
I've looked through it, and it looks like apart from statically linking allegro, everything should compile on windows just fine.

remeh 2012-04-30 14:50

Thanks for your comments, again, sorry about the missing builds...
speciesUnknown : if you take the time to even try, you have a deal ;)

matheus23 2012-04-30 16:07

But everything was in the taxi... haha :DDD

Really good game. Bad it's only for linux, and you also need allegro.

You could have added something to the story like "The world exploded and then there were only many little parts of the world left.". That'd be fun.

matheus23 2012-04-30 16:09

Oh one more thing: not very much content... could have been more.

tourgen 2012-04-30 16:29

I love these kind of games but I don't have a working linux box atm. Couldn't rate.

jeffalisk 2012-04-30 17:57

Sorry, no Linux so couldn't rate.

raptor85 2012-04-30 21:41

looks cool and would still like to try it! read my top post, just include the listed files in the zip and it'll be runnable without trying to install the full allegro chain locally!

jeffalisk 2012-04-30 21:46

Sorry for the double-comment, I just need to clear some unplayable games off my list.

rhburrows 2012-04-30 23:32

I thought this was a fun game. It wasn't too difficult if you take your time but my own impatience definately made it harder

heychinaski 2012-05-01 20:27

Ah! I have linux but it's 32 bit and I don't have the allegro libraries. :(

speciesunknown 2012-05-02 23:05

I've started getting this to build with MSVC10, ive got it compiling but not linking - need to work out what allegro dependencies there are. Watch this space.

naouak 2012-05-06 14:52

Can't play it. On a window machine and I don't have any virtual machine available to test it under Linux.

dcolgan 2012-05-07 18:04

Hey, I just happen to be one of the >1% running 64bit Arch Linux! Cool little game. The graphics are simple but effective and very clean. Nice 8 bit music and sound effects. I accidentally murdered a customer, but didn't know why - is it only based on how fast you are going when you pick them up?

davidwparker 2012-05-07 18:06

Sorry, I have OSX and wasn't able to get it running.

asfdfdfd 2012-05-07 18:45

I cannot run this game and video file does not work too. Also you can try to use crosscompiler.

robcozzens 2012-05-10 07:27

I would try it if you had a Web or OSX version.

machinas 2012-05-12 23:15

no linux, sorry.

maxman43 2012-05-13 05:12

I would have played if there was a web version. Looks interesting

omaha 2012-05-13 18:19

Very fun. Audio was perfect. The linux community needs more games like this.
