Great game. Only problem is that it's too short. Also I always pressed the wrong keys, because the view is angled 45º >___>

bumpkinrich 2012-08-27 07:22

Thanks Doft. I wish it could be longer too. Depending on feedback and workload / life I hope to flesh it out a bit. The 45 degree angle, I changed from top down early on as it was hard to see the puzzles. Thanks for the feedback.

vigrid 2012-08-28 21:59

I like the visual style, audio style and level design. Everything is great apart from the controls. My brain couldn't switch to isometric. Thanks for sharing the sources, I'll have fun learning from them! :) What does it have to do with evolution anyway? ;)

zamando 2012-08-28 22:19

Nice game!

starmen 2012-08-28 22:25

Really well done. The puzzles are so well designed in this.

bumpkinrich 2012-08-28 23:04

@vigrid - I have updated the game slightly to hopefully make the controls easier to use.

I don't really want to explain the connection to the theme. Think it's fun to let people find out.

Awesome, this is one of the best entries I have got to play, and the first 3D game polished enough to make it really enjoyable. It's just humbling to see what you made in 48 hours!

The only suggestion I have is, rather to put the camera at a perfect 45° angle, setting it to ~50/60 would make the controls way more intuitive, I think. It's just to help the brain figure out when is the front and where are the sides!

rhysvdw 2012-08-29 01:21

Very attractive and well executed game. I had the same problem with the controls, but got the hang of it after a bit. Nice work.

hamster_mk_4 2012-08-29 03:30

The I pressed the wrong key a few times due to the camera angle. Other than that it was a very solid entry.

aceria 2012-08-29 18:20

Pretty well done, cute art style and didn't come across any bugs. The controls were terrible though. If you decide to continue with this you should change those first, it just doesn't feel natural at all.

michax 2012-08-29 18:21

Nice level design, didn't bored me for a second!

bumpkinrich 2012-08-29 18:46

@Aceria - could you try the updated link (finished after the compo). Would love to get some feedback on if the updated camera angle - see if that solves the problem.

dedhedzed 2012-08-30 12:39

Yeah, I got to the end and thought "Man, you can tell this guy ran out of time", which was really kinda sad because what you'd got going was REALLY bloody good. I, too, struggle with the isometric controls, but that's not really your fault - It's just me being a derp.

I really liked this. Please, continue to make it into something further.

imef 2012-08-30 20:53

Wonderful game! A bit short though.

galman 2012-08-30 20:55

Awesome game! Great puzzler! Really really liked it! The graphics together with the music and puzzles fits really well :-)

vladp 2012-08-31 23:43

Cute puzzle game. Well done :)

codexus 2012-09-01 13:54

Great little puzzler! The graphics are simple but effective, the audio is good, a bit repetitive but fine for a 48h game.
I really liked the puzzles, they were well designed and made me think.

matthias_zarzecki 2012-09-02 00:46

Lovely puzzler! Idea is good, the execution too. Gameplay feels solid and punchy.

The best thing though is the sound-slider in the menu. It's just /so useful/. No irritations about volume. No reaching to the speakers. Nicely done!

azurenimbus 2012-09-02 04:19

First Ludum Dare? Very good entry! I really enjoyed it.

The cubeness reminded me a lot of Edge, have you played it? Nice job with the puzzles, especially in such a short time!

brassawiking 2012-09-02 17:20

Great game! Good variety of puzzles and mechanics. The graphics are so clean and beautiful. It felt however not logical that you cant drop two levels unless you already are standing on something. Other than that, all was straight forward.

fadobo 2012-09-03 07:23

Fantastic game. Hard to believe it was created in such a short time. Very funny as well. "Praise a key" :)

Jeremias 2012-09-03 20:50

Very nice graphics and audio. Liked the way god is talking to the player between the levels.

Yumdub 2012-09-03 21:58

Truly interesting how this game gave me the feeling that it was complete just because of it's polish, even though it was lacking more levels. It must have been a little frustrating to create a game like this but only get in 10 levels... note to self.

rawbits 2012-09-05 04:33

Good game! I didn't find a bug in it. Pretty nice music and gfx for a puzzle game like this. Puzzles are too easy though. It was 4 am when I played it and I got it beaten on the first try. :)

bumpkinrich 2012-09-05 10:21

Just want to say thanks for the comments folks :)

@Zed - I'll be doing some more work on it soon.

@Yumdub - I wish it was 10 levels. Only managed 9 :( More soon.

@azurenimbus - yep, played Edge for the first time the day before the compo.

the-jack 2012-09-10 05:08

This was very refreshing, well done with the visuals & tone.

I think a 2-block fall could have been OK not to kill the player.

Great job.

adventureislands 2012-09-13 08:07

Really nice work, levels and graphics were well done, only thing I had trouble with was the controls, I don't know if it was the angle or something, but I had trouble adjusting to the directions :D

pardue 2012-09-16 21:22

Great game, well done for 48 hours. I had fun playing, and it felt pretty polished for just the weekend.
