Good for you! For a first game OK.
It really is short and simple, but I like the beam (don't know what it's for).
I can't blame you for being ambitious (my idea was also too ambitious, I couldn't make it in 48 hours either).
Good job on your first game entry. Unfortunately it's a bit too flat for its own good, but the gun was kind of fun to mess around with.
I know its your first try so I guess you deserve points for trying and "finishing" something. You could have added a few simple things to improve it and increase your rating a bit.
Some kind of enemy, even a static one that doesnt move to shoot with the gun.
A way to die would have been good and maybe some collectable coins or something.
GMS has some very easy to use in built score and lives features that you can impliment very easily.
I encourage you to use this entry and build on it to learn some more about GameMaker. Try the inbuilt tutorials and hit youtube for some good vids on how things are done.
