Very nice game. Reminded me of anti chamber with all the story^^
Fast game had much fun! I want highscore! =)
Nice enjoyable game. Multiplayer with multiple controllers would be really nice =)
Keep going
"Justice Was Served" Yea that gave me a good feeling!
Very nice and mood and graphics. The audio was also quite right for this game. You got the theme very well! I wished there was a bit more explaining about the ending.
Enjoyed this very much!
So Amazed Very Woof!
I installed XNA Framework from the link you gave.
But when I start the game it just crashes. Debugger gave following error (sry for german, but you see the keywords):
Eine nicht behandelte Ausnahme des Typs "System.InvalidOperationException" ist in Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll aufgetreten.
Zusätzliche Informationen: Song playback failed. Please verify that the song is not DRM protected. DRM protected songs are not supported for creator games.
But I want to play it, screenshots look fun.
I really! want to play this. But I can't start it.
When I try to start with "java -jar RUN.jar" I get following error:

Absolutely awesome! This really fits the theme and the sleeping dev made me laugh a lot.
First though: Nice music!
Its sometimes rather hard to take a turn, because you have to do it in the right time. Otherwise the player just moves past a turning. Some tweeking here would be nice. Maybe only move when holding key down?
The medieval look for pacman looks very promising!
This certainly isn't finished as you stated. I know that feeling; had a similar problem with wasting time on stupid stuff this LD. But with this experience we should perform better next time^^
But at the first look I like the feeling when moving tanks!
It moves fast and clean. I would like to now shoot around ^^
Add the ability to shoot, randomly moving targets and a score and you have a playable game =)
GJ on shipping anyway and not just giving up as others may have done.
This kept me playing a long time. So much fun! It is really nice how many thing you can do, and all in one screen. I think you got the theme really got! The music fits really well in my opinion. The graphics are as good as the rest.
Good work! 5 Stars from me
I like the graphics and game concept very much!
But please let this game be playable with other keyboard layouts than english. I had to end because of this.
interesting idea with the food. gave the old pacman a new twist. the controls where sometimes exhausting though.
frequently the (hilarious looking!) pacman would run past turnings I'd like to take in a straight line. sometimes it worked to turn, but not always.
i had to chuckle after reading about the gluten enemy. funny =)
The snowball physics are somewhat awkward. I like this.
I guess you though the other theme would win, huh? ^^
+1 for LISP-based language ^^
The graphics remembered me of old games I liked to play, e.g. crime fighter. This is a good thing.
I would like to hear some fitting sounds and see the snowmans drop snow that you can use to build snowballs or something like this. Would be some dark kind of funny I think^^
That description was so ridiculous long it made me laugh.
The graphics where very nice. Together with the light and the story it got me in the right mood.
But it could be a bit more fast paced for my taste.
Good game!
very nice game! sorry i didn't find this earlier, but i comment anyway. i love the concept. the quest system gives a solid motivation and intetgrates well into the setting. together with the graphics and music and the soundeffects!
i really like the idea to play with different dices. especially that you see the the probable outcomes of using this dice is neat. you did a nice work further improving this in the post-compo version.
the graphics feel kinda clean and its enjoyable to play a round or two against bots. the feedback you get when (e.g.) landing on a -1 field is very nice. overall are the roumble effects creating a good immersive feeling.
post-compo: some nice polishing. the music is enjoyable and quite appropriate for this kind of game
Very polished! Was a lot of fun to play. Great use of Voronoi! But whats a bit frustrating is when all cells are taken by someone its pretty over. And with (bad) look you can get initial positions that puts one of the players in an advantage.
I dont see how you can improve other than decreasing the defense of fortitudes. Or what would be much more fun: Three parties and a little bit increased grid resolution to make room for the third party. Would love to play that in an additional game mode!
Great Game!
uhh! the character animations are really awesome <3. the visual style creates a nice atmosphere, which would really benefit from the right sounds and music
Nice Particle effects.
I had problems with the controls in the beginning. Could find how to stop the permament movement. But I got it after a while.
I like the setting "Your are a solo turret in the middle or nowhere".
Very nice game. The changing level is a nice interpretation of the theme and its very enjoyable to play. The music is both relaxing and motivating. The small levels gave lots of repetitive feedback and I experienced no unwanted frustration through deaths.
GJ!
reminded me of kerbal space program. but the controls seems flawed to me. the graphics are nice
I simply love idle games.
The presentation is nice.
I like the way you show how to unlock things with population size.
Water, Iron and Hunter are not implemented yet?
Too bad - would like to play more!
Nice game, keep going!
Damn Java 8. I am scared it brakes my system. But your game looked so good in the screenshots and the description I had to risk it.
Glad you made me do it.
Really good hit on the theme!
Awesome music!
The graphics are very fitting.
I especially like, that the ground you can walk on is made out of news.
But the movement physics feels a bit off. But that is maybe only because I am no platformer fan.
Is there any way to restart other than closing the game and starting it again?
good sounds and music.
the controls are too hard for me. but its kinda funny to watch how the pea-like car rotates while i try to control it.
Good hit on the theme! I especially like that you see the screen you see in the screen you control. Screen-ception.
Gameover looks awesome!
The gameplay itself wasn't very special though.
I loved the graphics and animations. The cute little legs of the screen - lovely!
Interesting hit on the theme. Very cool indeed.
Nice game. The graphics, resolution and sounds fit together very well creating a nice retro mood. With this the theme worked good for me.
Nice concept. I always like to explore games with changing rules.
Awesome music! But it was kinda challanging without finding the Shop with Escape. After that it was a breeze and awesome. Nice game!
Very good hit on theme!
Nice music!
This is really innovative and fun.
Awesome game!
That game had some funny moments. I like that it is complete and even has multiple endings (succubus ftw)
Nice writing.
Simple but nice. I like the idea and the setting. The shadows are kinda cute and funny.
Very cool idea. The graphics are really nice.
But as Chaoseed said, its hard to determine which crates are valuable and which not.
The power of the force field was ok, I just tried to put everything in one corner so I can control it.
I could imagine other kinds of controls that are unlocked during the game. Would be very interesting to play.
Great game!
The graphics are absolutely great! I luv this style. But the font is unreadable. I would like to play it much more, but its too exhausting to read.
wow - really cool hit on the theme!!
Nice hit on the theme! Too bad there is no KI and noone around to play it with. Good idea.
The graphics are okay. The text could be in higher resolution.
Nice game!
omg that game was very funny. I really like the sound effects. But it might be a little bit inappropriate (which I dont care about^^) as it reminds me of a recent discovery regarding seals, penguins and their interaction.
The introduction where awesome. Also so far this is the best hit on the theme I encountered, very good.
Too bad I am bad at platforming games and get frustrated by them fast. But it got me addicted for a few minutes anyway and I DID want to go further. But didn't got the end.
Is the story from the beginning continuing? If so, a video walkthrough would be nice to see it.
Very good game!
Nice concept. The sound and effect when I hit something with high velocity gives you absolutely the right feeling.
Too bad I have to play from Level 1 if I die, bcs I am not patient enough for this.
But this really is something I like. Good job, keep working on it and get it out into the wild!
The setting is great. I like that the place gets tainted with blood more and more.
I started to hate the color blue^^
The charakter images are really great!!
Cool idea - a little hard to work out the controls. "Failure is not an option" - I laughed^o^
Nice music!
Interesting concept to present the controls.
But it felt flipped - am I right?
Nice hit on the theme with the screen around the game!
Good puzzle concept. I like that you can see the whole world _somehow_ in the background. Useful to decide to see what a button is likely to cause. The many doors remembered me of Monsters Inc. Your brain must have hurt a lot after setting up that complex door world.
Too bad, I got lost somewhere. But its definitely fun!
The controls are not correct for me: Instead of W/D for Moving it was A/D for me.
I would love to hear a door sound when entering. Something like youtube.com/watch?v=k3v37Ac_CvI but self recorded from the doors in your house, or something.
Great Game!
Nice graphics and cool idea.
Lots of levels
I like the bird movement. Really felt like the bird was flying. It was lots of fun to be a little bird and life its life - lol. Good Game!
I would like to try this with my phone and google cardboard.
I dont like to play mazes and my resolution is too low.
But the idea is hilarious! Also it's a nice interpretation of the theme.
I get "MSVCP120d.dll missing" error, even after installing vcredist_x86.
As it seems to be the debug version (http://stackoverflow.com/q/21707992/798588), this could may be fixed with a release build instead of debug.
Please fix this =)
Nice graphics and lights! Gives a god damn good mood. Sound would really add a lot to this. I like the concept with the changing level
Very cool idea!! But it was really annoying to switch channels. Make it somehow smoother please.
You did exceptionally well with theme. You gave the whole thing right feeling with fitting retro looking graphics and the choose of sounds (you may not made it yourself, but you choose the right one!).
I really enjoyed to play it.
I like the music. Can you point me to good literature about how to procedurally generate music?
The music and graphics style fit good together.
Interesting game concept with the shape matching. But I don't understand why you can (only) shoot the enemies that give you score.
Because of the speed of the enemies when fleeing from you, it's actually quite hard to score.
Overall: nice game for the short development time!
Nice game. Had trouble figuring out the controls, but it worked. Some UI polishment (e.g. score) would be nice.
Score ~ 220 - Had fun =)
Nice music and graphics. Took a minute to figure out that you have to hold down the mouse button to shoot. At first I only clicked to emit single bullets (trying to be economical..) but that didnt work. Maybe you can fire a bullet with the first click or tell the play to hold down to fire?
I like bacteria/virus inspired games. Funny game - good work!
Cool graphics.
The hardest part of the game are the controls. It would be much faster to play if the maze would rotate with you. So you dont have to switch the key controls every now and then.
The mazes are not that hard, which I like.
The background sound is quite relaxing which fits very good with the game concept. I can imagine to use this game to clear my mind. Unfortunately the controls prevent this.
Overall good game!
Very nice hit on the theme!
The creatures where very cute.
But I didn't know what to do with them. All I could do was watch and let them eat. A game I cannot win, I guess?
Feels more like a screensaver. Lol. Somehow a contradiction xD
Overall the graphics and glitch effects are amazing!
But the fullscreen was very buggy for me and nearly forced me to restart my computer. I don't know if this is on purpose but it kinda fits the game. Wasn't really sure if feature or bug. ^^
I really like the idea! Too bad its not really playable yet, I want to explore a pop-up world now! =) The music is nice.
One could do some awesome storytelling with this as foundation - post-compo please :]
Awesome! Very nice interpretation of the theme! I like the short tutorial with the WASD around you. And oh yea! it was so bloody. Great graphics, sound and atmosphere
Excellent idea and execution. It was very fun to play this. The way the level transforms fits very well with theme. Great Game!
I loved the idea but it was waaay too hard to find the right guy. Too many people^^
Fun clicker game. Somehow abstract concept with the cube. It was very addictive to play. I wish it also had sound and music.
Cool - the communication is a hangman game. Nice idea. The hit on the theme is good. MMO in LD? Nice!
Looks like a solid game. Very SCUMM-ish, I like that! Nice music and writing.
It would be nice if you could click on the time points, so the date is entered automatically. Or the option to decrease a number in the time machine. Otherwise I do a lot of clicking that feels unnecessary.
How do I open the inventory?
Nice idea! has some bugs though =)
Nice graphics. The big hammer is funny. But it didnt know the other player back. I expected it to do so. Had to play it with myself. Single-Player option would be nice =)
The compo version was very hard to control. But with the WASD-Control of the post-compo it was managable for me and got really addictive. The online score didnt work btw =(.
Reminds me off flappy bird =) As well as the sounds.
Great Game!
lol, the planting looks really weird, but funny weird^^
the graphics are cute and the theme fits reasonably well, gj.
lol, very funny, gj
Uh, nice chiptune music. Also fits very well with the graphics , gameplay and sound of the game. The jump sound when growing really made me feel like playing an old nintendo game.
Themes fit both perfectly.
Very nice solid execution. Enjoyed playing it a few times.
Growing Theme nicely fit. Tetris as space station builder. How awesome is this!? 5 Stars, really wanted to play more of this. It felt very polished, only needed more levels.
fun fight for a few a minutes. my combos don't seem to hit when they should sometimes. the music rocks
The music adds a lot to this games experience. The game is very simple, but, like others said, it is surprisingly hard to click the pollen. I think the theme "Growing" is very obvious with this one. Had a nice few minutes, mostly enjoying the music^^ We absolutely need something similar for our game :P
I felt the text display took too long. I liked the idea, and with a little more complex story I could have actually played this a little longer. Unfortunately I won too fast too really be able to enjoy it^^ The turning stars look charming.
I felt the text display took too long. I liked the idea, and with a little more complex story I could have actually played this a little longer. Unfortunately I won too fast too really be able to enjoy it^^ But not before loosing once, because the AI decided to self-destruct. Had a good laugh at this xD
The turning stars look charming.
(we need a edit comment function)
Unfortunately can't play it, looks interesting though
Yea! I really like the idea to place music sources into the world. Always thought about something similar to this w.r.t. music generation. The music quality is very high. The execution of the concept looks solid. But I wasn't quite sure what to do in the game. I need a guide to, well guide me what to do next.
When I read you writing about harmonies, I thought that I would get some kind of feedback from the game if I hit any or if I loose any. Didn't see this in the game though.
I can also totally see making a haunted house with this framework. You would need to add some scary objects with proper sounds that can be triggered to get activated by stepping on some tile. If you give theses objects some crowd control (like fear), the players goal could be to get through the haunted house as fast as possible or so.
See a lot of potential here, don't let it be wasted please and continue working on it^^
at the first glance i thought to myself "bah do i really need to play that?"
than i relaxed, sat back and read through the story, then suddenly! it was very exciting and then very funny.
i enjoyed this very much
awesome game, music didnt let me go, made me play until the very end, very enjoyable experience!
Brilliant use of the theme. Reminds me of Magicka. Figured the protal spell out quit fast, spent the next few minutes learning to type it correctly fast enough and then skipped each level XP
Nice that that was possible =)
The storytelling was very nice, but a little bit behind my own discoveries mostly.
Music and graphics fit very well and look/sound good.
both theme fits very well. its interesting to the growing concept of a seedling with this gameplay. gj
that was very awesome! nice music and sound, that graphics where amazing. i grew my world tree until the end. very satisfying. even though the controls where hard to master^^
Nice and almost complete game! I just need some proper kind of end and a loading screen. The dialog was fitting and humorous. The theme was well used as a motivating story element. Graphics, Sound and Mood played well together and of good quality. The dark areas in the start area of the last scene where kinda frightening^^ I was glad to see that my fireballs could be used for light. One could use this element in future levels. Overall very nice game and I had fun playing it through!
Interesting innovative concept! The style was unique and beautiful. It was hard to find out why I die the first times. The for "power bars" should have been promoted more in the beginning. I would have liked to be able to vote for humor, some things where quite funny. Great idea good job
Awesome Game!
Nice pixel arts game. The name was kinda misleading. In a good way! The story setup was very well executed. The game play was good, but too tough for me^^ I gave up after a quarter hour. 60 seconds can be sooo long. Theme was well integrated and I could feel it while playing. Perfect. Overall nice game and it was fun to try to get to the end =)
Nice idea! I always wanted to play the robots =) Some subtitles would have been nice for the voice over. But the voice over was very fitting for the setting.
Yay that was a fun game!
If not for the bugs I would have loved to continue playing a few hours. Sometimes a character info dialog will always reappear and won't let others dialogs open. I also had a bug when executing revolting characters they won't be executed and their card stays, can't be removed/replaced and can't be killed with action card either. I couldn't even advance to the next turn anymore.
Anyway very great game; please fix the bugs so I can play longer =) Sound was good chosen. The character portraits where funny. The event system filled the game world with life. Your interpretation of "power" (in running out of power) was innovative!
All in all great work!
Cool idea with the paper art style! Looks really nice. I could imagine a story where the world starts to fill with color while you progress.
Interesting idea how you put the theme together with a stealth/lockpicking-type game! Had some problems finding the white boxes. I think I sometimes got lost in the everywhere same looking town. Some random decors and dirt would help that.
Overall good game
Really nice music!
Lol, that was like the funniest unexpected game explanation ever. Nice game!
Enjoyable read. Mommy(my first guess for the writing person) only was after money after all? I offered her all the time but she wouldn't take it^^ So I refused to give money for daddy XP I can only approve of the suggestions hecticgrape made.
There where some funny passages (e.g. supply&demand). A bit short, but fun experience
Nice shooter. The graphics fits nice together and is perfect for this game play. The theme could be recognized very well. But I would suggest to change the parameters a little bit: The inertia in the movement was a bit too much for my taste. The "running out of power" feeling was not intense enough; maybe (increasingly?) slow down the movement when out of power? But the game title says "solar powered guns" which fits better to the way it is. Some background music and some basic sounds would have been nice. Some kind of level progression, a score and/or a winning condition would round things up. Promising project.
Awesoooooome! Everything fit so well together. But so hard. Good our hero still has his "Continue" ultimate power^^. Actually that goes well with the game story. I really loved the coughing effect. Makes you feel with the hero much more Very great work!
Nice graphics, but I couldn't really figure out what to do. Standing and just spamming 'z' worked though. Some ingame explanations for the Z and X functions would be nice.
@jason200101
Too bad, you really miss out on a cool story! If you don't like my interpretation I suggest another one, the actual story is great! The audio book that abductedplatypus found is good for example.
"not just writing the script on a programm made specifically to save time." Wow! Do you really only program in assembler? ;) Wait, No! Even that is specifically made to save time.. Saving time is the essence
Anyway thank you for taking the time to write feedback =)
Nice game. Fitting sounds/graphics and game concept. The screen shake effect is very nice. Had fun playing it, but a little bit too hard for me^^
Nice game, reminds me of my first game "ways". There you also had a maze without any light and you had to completely find the way by guessing. The light element made this game here more playable. It was quite challanging seeing the complete maze and figuring out and rememembering a route in a blink of a second.
Hi fellow "The Last Question"-inspired! Your interpretation of it was supreme! I especially liked the player integration. Basically making him reverse the entropy, awesome. Perfect gameplay for this story. Theme of course perfectly fits, graphics and sounds where well made and fitting. Good scene cuts. I had a lot of fun playing it.
Awesome!
Congratulations for 1st place in category Mood! Your take on "The Last Question" really hit the spot, good job!
Welcome to Ludum Dare!
Nice first entry. More complete than my first try^^ All with title screen and options. Normally I don't like high inertia movement, but you implemented in a good way. I felt like I could control the spaceship quite well. When taking your time and flying slowly it maybe gets to easy. A constantly decreasing power would help. It would also make the "running out of power" feeling more salient. Still the theme is definitely recognizable. The sounds where fitting for the game. Some simple background music would have been nice. The graphics fit together with the sound and overall game concept. Some visual overlay could be used to give more feedback for the power level and help flesh out the atmosphere. I liked the auto generated levels.
All in all I had quite fun to play to the end
Good job, see you next LD
Yay awesome game! Kinda reminds me of "Made in Abyss", an anime I am currently watching. I personally like the underwater artifact searching concept. The theme resonates very well with the game concept and the "running ot of power" feeling was well conveyed. The graphics are awesome! Had quite some fun playing that Good job!
Very nice game! I especially like the retro feeling you created with the sound and graphics. It was entertaining. Destroy destroy destroy destroy^^ The theme was very well conveyed and could be felt during the game. Overall awesome experience ~ Good work!
