Creative use of one screen constraint :) It is something that easily could be played on short bursts so maybe if you will be expanding the idea try mobile platforms ?

Really neat idea for a game :) Definetly something I would like to see developed further :D
Simple but fun idea :) It would be nice if you would add power ups etc. in the future. And if you would allow to chose key scheme that would also be nice :P I'm from european country (Poland) but we use here qwerty keyboard scheme.
Great music (percussion sounds like from trackers for amiga old dos pc :D) and I like "crude" pixel art graphics (reminds me of playing shareware games when I was younger :)).
Can't get my head around controlling characters but it is still fun. My only complaint is that everybody should have awesome mustache like Jake.
I can't emphasize how cool this mechanic is :D Really neat idea and something I would like to see developed further.
As others mentioned music with mellow gameplay creates very interesting atmosphere. I really like graphics style on second screen :D I noticed that on one repetition main player character changed color to pink :) Does something controls it or is it at random ?
Really interesting idea and usage of one screen constraints. I think that it could really benefit from adding two player mode.
Game can be very challening but it is still possible to beat so balance here for me is good :) And good choice of music :D My only complaint would be that graphics are small (I'm playing on 15 inch screen laptop) but without this it probably would be hard to fit in theme :P
Nice graphics stylization and are those bass guitar sounds when you move left or right ? :D
really neat idea with the sonar. And it runs without problem in firefox and loads fast so this will definetly help to gather more players :)
I liked the graphics and idea. And really good idea with putting tutorial so player can know how to play a game (a lot of people including myself forget to put obvious stuff like this in games ;)) I would just maybe replace music with some rocking chiptune :D
Overall very polished game for something created for game jam :) I loved that you could use your own bombs to speed travel. I think that it is definetly worth developing this game further.
Despite the fact that you're claiming that you're no pixel artist I think graphics look really fine :) At first I could understand how to shoot so maybe a little explanatory at start of game would be helpful but at the end I found how to shoot myself so it is not something tragic :D
Nice graphics and music :) As everyone mentioned game is hard but not impossible and I think that with practice high scores are possible :D I think that it would fit on mobile platforms because it can be played on short sessions.
@asobitech thank you :)
@mechalis at first I wanted to exclude shooting but without it was almost impossible to kill an enemy so I finally added it. I hope I will not miss start of next jam and will have a little more time.
@Random crash is kind of weird because it started to occur after I added splash screen, but it was hard to pinpoit exactly what was going wrong. Generally on the next game jam I will probably try Unity, because writting everything myself using java and proessing generates a lot of overhead.
of course I meant @BubbleChien not @Random, sorry for that :)
@xaedes I have been playing guitar for some years so rules applied hear are my own and to be honest I don't know about any literature about procedural music generation besides the one paper I saw yesterday on reddit -> https://www.academia.edu/9696759/Computoser_-_rule-based_probability-driven_algorithmic_music_composition but from what I see this paper covers most fundamental topics.
And yes I agree that I should do something with shooting because currently game ends too fast too hard :P
@crazyrems Unfortunetly the game won't start in java older than 8 because I used stuff like streams api etc. so porting it to older versions of java would require code changes.
I had fun playing your game :D I liked that you could escape any time you wanted because that created mechanic were you had to decide should you try to collect some more money (but could fail and die) or double the amount you currently have. And having high score in game is a nice throwback to times when games would compete who could get the highest score :D
