Ace - I enjoyed the controls and gameplay, I'm not very good at it though so I only just about made it through the first level.

Couldn't get this to run on my mac, tried using winebottler. graphics look really beautiful though :)
Really enjoyed this game and not much to complain about..
BUT! i feel like the movement should be "go in the direction you press the button" not "accelerate and steer" it makes things really difficult and seems unfair with the small number of lifes you get
I found out that i survived alot longer if i just revolved around the planet (ocasionally going to get gold (or are those lemons?)) :P
also the pacing felt very slow because it seems like you need ALOT of gold to unlock the other levels :(
otherwise... really nice game.. one of the best i've played so far.. i like the level of polish :) HIGH FIVE for that
Thank you for your kind comments people. Yes, I agree on both your points. The planets are way to pricy. I'll upload a new version when the competition's ended which'll fix both issues. And no, these are not lemons haha, but they definitely look like lemons now you've mentioned it:P
Definitely very polished, but I agree about the controls... adds unnecessary difficulty to the game! Players should feel like they are in control :).

Wow, some more people need to play and rate this game! It is very engaging and interesting, from the great sound effects to the twitchy art, the fluid controls and the simple addictive game mechanic. Very well done.
Definitely an underrated gem of #LD23. Hope you'll keep working on this!
Very nice. The graphics and audio really give it a great oldschool arcade atmosphere.
I'll add another voice to the complaints about the controls though - it's really difficult to keep track of which way your ship's pointing and aim with the mouse at the same time.

Cool game. But soo hard.
Awesome graphics and audio. The game has a lot of polish and bounciness. The only problem was that for me the game was too hard to the point of being frustrating, and I could never stay alive longer than a few minutes. Of most of the games I've played, this one feels the most like a real game!
I think I echo another posting in saying it would have been much nicer to have each of the directional keys be thrust in that direction. Your game caused me to want to keep playing though, because I had to beat at least one level. The end of the level in which I had to destroy all the huge asteroids was very satisfying.

Thanks for all the comments folks! I see that the game is a bit to hard on you guys. I do agree about the gameplay, but once you get used to it it isn't that hard. Just fly in circles! Anyway, I'll add a second control scheme in the upcoming version so you guys can complete at least the first level=P And I'm terribly sorry, but I'm not able to convert my game for Mac user. Here is a gameplay video which shows u what I mean with 'flying in circles'.

Excellent work. Very polished and well rounded - graphics, sound, ideas: all cool. The one thing I'd say is I did find the controls very hard to get used to, and never managed to get past the first level - but I may just be a bit uncoordinated... :) I will come back to it again, though. This is just about the best of the 50-ish I've seen!
