And slsly, FIND THE KITTEN
Agree on all three points and yeah, I heard crashing was happening but sadly was not able to repro. :)
Glad you found the kitten, big respect to you! Thanks for playing and reviewing
Next time I do Ludum I hope to have a none boring game, I have not managed to make one of those yet. :p
I really tried to get the hang of the controls, but failed - I couldn't make it around the course even once.
Great concept though, would love to see this made a bit more intuitive for us noobs.
Ace - I enjoyed the controls and gameplay, I'm not very good at it though so I only just about made it through the first level.
A nice polished and complete entry!
I like the concept, and think it has potential as a funny and real game, sad that there is only one level :-(
I enjoyed the mechanic of dealing with two things at once!
I enjoyed this - I found Venus to be pretty difficult, I like the thought that went into the various bullet patterns used :)
For a "non-polished" game, this is quite pleasant to drift around on, I skipped the reading instructions bit to begin with and flew into the sun - but eventually got to the space bit where you're supposed to destroy turrets/shields.
Aiming is a bit iffy, but overall I can see what you were trying to do and I like it
Well.... I have no idea how to shoot things, but I did manage to blow up a couple of saucers by chance.
I like the explosions, I like flying around the asteroid - I'm fairly sure I nearly reached escape velocity, but gravity won - what a bitch :-)
MarekkPie - that's actually intentional - hold down CTRL and you'll see that you zoom out (although if the game hung up I guess you wouldn't!!) - What browser/etc?
Maato - I noticed that it was a bit slow only too late, I'd been skipping to level 10 for most of my testing :-)
I enjoyed this, wished there as a bit more strategy to it :-)
Having the same problem as Graham, can't find main class in the jar - I'll try on Linux when I get home
I like the mechanics, but I wasn't sure why I was being chased by little yellow balls???
Great concept, it's entertaining to frustrate friends with :-D
(Btw, if you want to try my game again, I've fixed it in your browsers)
The ninja goat won :(
I love the jump and stick and roll mechanics, it would be great extended into a real game with more features.
Nice reversed arcade concept, no background music though - and it went all weird when barrels hit the people (crashed or froze sometimes)
I finally worked out what to do and then a tree fell on me, nice touch.
Good idea, it's a bit easy though.
I've fixed my game in the same way you fixed yours, which is to have two code paths for Chrome vs Everything else btw :-)
I was a bit confused to begin with, it just seemed like I had to click a lot on the boxes on the right. Seems looking at tim_u's post that there is some strategy but I rather missed that :-)
Good concept, and I liked the idea of THE EVIL GOAT KING KILLING ALL THE HUMANS, but it was a bit too easy - could have done with some resource management mechanics or something
I have no idea what I was doing, but there was a naked man and I did indeed keep tossing him (into the air), so that's good I think.
Surreal, certainly one of the more odd ones I've tried so far today
The jumping was a little bit slow - and it took me a second to work out you could double jump - I wasn't able to get past that final put on the first level thogh
Not bad at all, it could have been a bit more challenging to begin with - perhaps by making the trains something that you also had to avoid :)
The traps made me laugh - although they're a bit hard to click on the right one which made me lose a few times
Remarkably complete, although the unskippable dialogue making you unable to do anything was a bit frustrating
I can't seem to click the first button?
Wow - very nice graphics, smooth gameplay and great mechanics - I got just over 1000 points :-)
Fun concept - but it's a bit hard to put the objects down in the scene so by the time you do the hero already has the girl.
It could have been a good puzzle game actually
Good walljumping mechanic, it would be nice if you didn't have to complete the entire game in one go without dying though!
I was able to kill a pile of ships, but wasn't able to collect the people ( I don't think ).
I like the concept - shoot em up + fruit ninja gameplay.
I wasn't really able to win because the AI meant the blocks all went to the bottom and ganged up on me.
I tried several times but alas to no avail.
I liked the intro text and idea, and the shameless lack of texture :-)
I AM SO CONFUSED WHAT IS THIS :-)
I managed to get to the bit where I had to avoid people, then ended up back in the first place again and couldn't work out what I had to do if I wanted to continue.
It's still a good effort though!
I enjoyed this - I especially liked that you both were the builder of the village and then could play the people :-)
I did some running, but it's very hard to actually land in the right place in order to carry on jumping.
I managed to get 50,000 by just holding the right button and getting fast enough to not fall :-)
Great idea, I liked the music and style too.
Hard to play on a mousepad, but that's not your fault now is it? :P
I got it working and was able to drop a few enemies, but then it froze on me.
Shame, I like the idea!
Clowns! Bunnies! Classic tower defence game, it was a bit hard to place clowns for some reason though
Good effort, I always wanted to be a devil shooting angels from a cloud.
Well, the concept is good - firing chainsaws at bunnies - it was going well until my chainsaw vanished!
I worked out what was going on after a couple of attempts and got through - I still have no idea what adrenaline was and it was a surprise when a *green* guy shot at me - then I realised that people to shoot came in from the right/left and people who shot back come from the bottom!
Very nicely done, I liked how the protaganist looked like PSY :P
I stole lots of cows, good first attempt!
Some challenge would be good as an addition of course
Good idea, I wish there were explosions like in the film and it was a bit difficult to actually blow things up on account of those dastardly planes
I'm not sure if it's me, but the zip is empty when I download it
Thanks, giving it a go
Okay, I managed to get it running but the collision detection is a bit wobbly and he gets stuck quite easily.
Still, it's a working game and I can run around and collect gold and kill things so I'm happy!
Yo, if you're looking for HTML5 games - check out http://blog.jeroenverfallie.com/posts/155-bbgs-48-hours.html which is what I'm using to find games to review :-0
Enjoyed the idea, but was a bit confused as to what to do to begin with! I persevered and hired some guys and eventually ran out of money :)
Hahaa, okay it was very short but I did laugh at the punchline
I wasn't able to win (I tried a few times), so your point about the random levels holds (or I'm an idiot :-))
Still, nice idea and I like the graphics and the music - next time MOAR HELP pls
Great art, okay game - very impressive for a LD48 entry indeed!!
Very smooth, nice graphics and good gameplay idea
Great effort, I made lots of burgers, nice combination of (I guess the soundfx generator) and your own voice for the grunting?
Which button to fire with?
I like the hand-drawn graphics, there is just one level and the things keep firing once they're dead?
It's a good first effort - it takes a couple of goes before you're able to push a complete game
This is one of the better role reversals of this particular game I've seen in this competition.
It would have been better if there was a bit more interactivity though, it didn't really feel as if there was going to be more variation other than dodge and shoot once the shields were gone
Shame there was only one level, I liked that the princess was tapping her foot whilst obviously bored waiting for the 'bad guy' to come ;)
2730 on my first go, having three weights kept things fun when it got fast
That was fun - I think I won? The game restarted and I didn't get hit by a shell
Okay I admit, I lolled :-D
Very fun, now have it open in my other window to wait for the game to fail to see the theme connection!
Haha, I was wondering what the princesses were for and then I found out.
I like the variety, I counted I think 5 kinds of princess I could use to slay my enemies!
Nice to see a text adventure game, I wasn't able to finish it I kept getting back to the start for some reason.
It's good writing though.
Funny, I liked all the bonuses - I'd have liked it more if there were some sort of challenge to it though
This is a good idea for a puzzle game - I wasn't able to solve the last couple of levels - I guess I had to click them when they were moving and I'm on a mousepad :)
It just about worked on my iPhone, would have been nice if touch had been implemented :)
Well, I won - it's a bit easy because the bullets can be fired from as far away as you like
Lovely audio and rather mature game-play - impressive this is a 48 hour entry.
Well, I did some fighting and got some money but I wasn't really sure how to strategise in order to actually win - didn't feel as if I had much control over the outcome of the fighting
Good to see the presence of checkpoints in this game, was worried it would be another trudge!
I like the emoticons when hacking >:D
I like how you can pretty much herd all the animals into a corner and beat them as they try to escape ;-)
This is the better one of the two games like this I have played so far today :-)
Fun, although a bit challenging for me - lost pretty quickly!
Love that I could play on my iPhone :)
I ran the installer and got the various dependencies, couldn't run the game, then tried standalone version as I now have the dependencies but that won't work either :(
No error, no nothing :(
Oh yeah, I forgot to run the bake stuff - this is my first ImpactJS game, I bought it a few weeks ago specially for this.
Catmoo - sadface! I hoped by using an off the shelf engine I'd be able to mitigate such issues, I'm going to guess it's due to the sound support in IE9 as I had to explicitly disable it on mobile devices for the same reason.
I'm glad you apparently pulled out another browser to give it a real go :)
Alink, I should have probably given a note of that, the faster you pick up the flowers the more cover you'll get as you will crap out rocks when you're hit and when you pick up a flower (about 33% of the time)
har_g :: Which browser and OS? Most likely it's because of the audio which is really naff in IE and on mobile browsers
Ah, I decided that was a "feature" because you can get the rocks destroyed by the defender :P
arhpositive - there was sound but the world of HTML5 audio is a murky one and apparently even using an engine isn't enough to mitigate that :(
Okay, well I've no way of testing in IE but I'll have a look at Firefox
Right folk, append ?disablesounds=true to the end of the URL and it will work in Firefox/IE (ImpactJS is having issues apparently)
Thanks! I'm glad I chased after you now then :-)
Dark acre jack, yeah - I'm really not happy that impactjs hasn't seemed to sort the browser audio out as well as I have in the past when doing it manually - lesson learned :(
Haha yes - I thought the same thing, perhaps I'll set that up once this is all over as it shouldn't be too hard
TDR - impact is meant to do that selection or you, it has both ogg and mp3 available :(
When I did it manually, it worked fine - I guess impact is a bit buggy - will be reporting on the forums!!
Hi Namuol - thanks for the pointers, I'm using the .* syntax and that's why Firefox falls over (apparently). I'm only using MP3 and OGG though, perhaps I should have tried M4A as well as that would have helped with my Safari issues.
The audio files were indeed very short, I haven't heard that padding advice before so I'll give it a go next time - thanks.
(The way I fixed my audio issues last time was to Base64 encode all the data and keep them as Data URIs, that means that they don't need reloading all the time and I think that probably mitigates the issue you're talking about with regards to small audio sizes too)
(And nobody has ever accused me of having nice graphics before, *sniff* I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW)
Namuol - take a look at GitHub.com/robashton/swallow :)
ImpactJS :)
Nice fruit ninja style game, it starts a bit slow but after killing a few dozen chicken it becomes fun.
I like how you cut the chicken up exactly where you slice - nice touch :-)
I liked the transition from beginning to end - could have done with a bit more though
I have no idea what I am supposed to be doing, I put a load of cards down and got destroyed both times I tried - more guidance please!
A noble effort, with some more time this could have been quite a fun game to play on my iPad
Lovely graphics, nice game idea too.
I wish I could draw like that!
Great effort, lovely dungeon keeper clone - "WHY AREN'T THERE GOATS?" :-)
Good idea, wish there were more levels though - I got both bags of cash and strangled those folk like the good guys they were ;-)
I enjoyed this and played through quite a few waves, I like how you can still win as your princess falls down from a height just because the timer has reached 0 ;)
I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing - the man disappears within 5 seconds
Shame this isn't finished as it looks like quite a cool simulation that you had fun doing
Cool - I have no idea how to play it but I dig the technology!
I kept getting stuck in the room with the four orange bits, I suspect I was supposed to warp out of it after 10 seconds but it never happend :(
Took me a few attempts to work out that my peeps were the red blobs and that they were needed to collect the white circles - after that all groovy though - good game!
I wasn't really able to work this out - my minions just kept going from left to right and not to the exit - what gives? :)
I completed it - but I did cheat by shooting through the walls as soon as the game started to where the victim was (I didn't even see the victim even once).
I am a dirty cheat :)
You could do with handling the mouse/keyboard events (preventDefault or return false), as I keep selecting the whole canvas and it turning blue or moving it around by accident :)
Good game though - glad to see I'm not the only one doing a bullet-hell game in canvas :D
Very nice, I got about 1lK - I guess that's about what you'd expect with the time.
Some way of extending the time and being more difficult over time would keep my engagement for longer :)
I admit it, I cheated - but I beat the highest difficulty level :P
The swimming felt very fluid and rewarding - I didn't complete the game but I got pretty deep :D
I couldn't work out where the 10 seconds comes into this - it seems I had infinite time to make the kills?
I just don't even what is this - I loved the dark sequences :P
I couldn't work out what to do - some better instructions perhaps might be helpful!
Beautiful use of transformations and style - and the concept of the game itself - fabulous. Really fabulous. I got about 3500 drift over the levels :)
I'm not able to load the url?
My brain is FRIED after yesterday, no way am I remembering more than a couple of these.
Good effort though - and a nice innovative game to go with the theme
I managed 62 seconds, what do I win? :P
I wasn't able to "hack the planet", but the other levels were good and I got close!
I like the names of the evil terrorists - but I lack the patience to sit there and get blown up over and over again because of the loading time involved!!
I really like this kind of game (I've played quite a few of them) - I'm going to keep this open in the background while I do the other games :D
I'm not very good at wall jumping so I gave up at the level in screenshot 1. I like the style and the music/sounds though - totally cool
"the in-game cursor was offset compared to where my mouse was, so I could only shoot to the right." <-- ditto, please fix this :)
I very much enjoyed this - it took me a while to work out how to jiggle free, and the puzzle element made me want to succeed :D
Browsers people, browsers??? :)
(I got some issues in Firefox I'm looking at now, I can't test in IE but it works in Chrome)
Fixed at least @Tork's problem I think - I can't do much about that first issue unless I know more about it
Yeah - it's a little slow, I was trying a different way of writing code for this jam and it went hideously wrong :D
Afraid I was at my girlfriend's house for this and didn't have any instruments with me. I played with a synth to see if I could get some sounds in but linux kept crashing so I gave up :)
Wow wow wow wow - My brain has melted and I'm not 100% sure if I'm ever going to be able to see straight again - but what a game!
