Simplistic, but unlike so many HTML5 entries, this has decent sound, music, graphics, and controls. Being able to shoot incoming cannonballs makes it kinda interesting :)
If you don't hear sound/music, try Chrome or Safari. They only support MP3 and Firefox only supports OGG due to patent BS, so we poor HTML5 devs have to transcode both. Damn media industry!!
LOL. Minion is our alternate name for our cat Minnie :)
The controls feel like some sort of ill-conceived contraption out of an Austin Powers movie... so not fun it's funny, I guess?
I saw you talking about a DopeWars clone on Google+... glad to see you're onto something a bit different. Just needs more time, and some decent work furniture :)
BTW, try <meta charset="utf-8" />
Sorry, this is too much like work :)
Smooth out the interface, get rid of dialogs, pick up the pack, add a soundtrack, and you'll have a pretty fun game. Then you've gotta spice it up somehow...
Good. Smooth, responsive, not too fancy.
Congratulations to all Ludum Dare 25 teams!
Yeah, halfway through the compo we started to rethink the controls & scrolling, but we ran out of time. Oh well, we'll get it right in v1.0. Glad y'all like the music though!
@robashton - thanks for the tip!
Too hard. I think you need to keep the character toward the left side, like in Canabalt. Also, no sound?? But hey, you finished in 48 hours and it runs smooth :)
Weave and slow down? meh.
Push 'em into the median so they can't go fast? 5 cars go by while you're off-roading.
Go 150 and explode 'em? ok that's more like it.
Go 150 the wrong way? Heh.
Go sideways? WIN. 0.2 mph :)
Not bad at all, especially for only 1 day's work. Sound, music, html5 FTW!
No sound... tried Chrome and Firefox... I'm on Linux.
WIN! Final score 26550 :)
Starts out looking like a crappy game with like 2 levels but it just keeps going and the music is pretty sweet.
Wait till you get to Firefox... hahahaha
-1 for not using HTML5 :-D
+1 for being the first HTML5/JS entry I've seen besides our own. Runs fine! (Except for the audio issue.. yep, I did it manually.. there's a trick to it.. and you need OGG for Firefox and MP3 for everything else, unless you use uncompressed WAVs. But it's manageable :)
