nicealexanderas 2011-12-19 21:06

Really when what?

nicealexanderas 2011-12-19 21:56

I test the game in 4 different computers with Windows OS (vista/windows) i didn't found any errors :D if there is one tell me (when i start, when i attack, etc).

kitch 2011-12-21 00:39

It ran fine, I assume RHY didn't notice the XNA requirment.

nicealexanderas 2011-12-21 17:24

My game is hard i wonder if someone finished. Im going to upload a video of how to finish this game soon!

saxon-douglass 2011-12-23 01:50

I couldn't get the game to run, and I reinstalled the XNA re-distributable. Shame that I could not play the game because the time-lapse was interesting.

Congratulations on your First LD entry!

Now, I got the game to run without the patch, as with the patch It kept crashing on startup (with the patch). Also as a side comment do provide the patch ready in the game:

So: Without the patch there was a bug with it that caused the gameplay to suffer: picking up anything had no impact on the Health/Hunger/Thirst.

The Idea however is simple, and could work, but for a prototype where you simply beat up baddies, this doesnt seem to have a straight away place, other than other statistics you have to worry about.

A Big plus is given to the ambient soundtrack, however it suffers slightly as the sound effects might be a bit too bright (for picking up stuff),

The unstable lights also give it to the mood, however they could be a bit more transparent as currently they appear to block the view than behave as lights. However, since there is no darkness in the game, all they currently do is obscure the view.

Anyway seemed fun, and you have good mood going on in the game it self.

The items collected are stored on you inventory , press 'i' to opened and right click to use them.... (why nobody reads the instructions?)

sirius_black9999 2011-12-26 12:35

it froze on startup for me, i do have XNA / .NET since i used to do some gamedev with it myself :S

murrayl 2011-12-26 12:37

The patch made the game crash on launch for me, but I enjoyed the unpatched version (not sure what the patch fixed; perhaps using inventory items?).

nicealexanderas 2011-12-26 23:18

Do not run the game inside the patch... unpack it to a new folder and play it.... the update only fix a music bug

The lighting for this game is pretty cool. I also liked that the character and enemies changes expression when attacking. It was a bit confusing in the beginning, the player is too similar to the background, so it took me a while to spot him. Also, it seems the combat is basically getting close to your enemy then clickfest :-/

Amazing timelapse.

Thanks for the game!

blahoink 2012-01-04 19:10

nice game! tiles and gameplay were a bit confusing, but good job!

zairon 2012-01-04 19:52

I couldn't get it to run. I installed .NET/XNA but no dice.

kellythomas 2012-01-08 10:42

i felt like i would have enjoyed hitting an attack button more.
combat implied by proximity that results in mutual damage feels too much like a was of attrition.

nickd3000 2012-01-08 15:51

sorry couldn't opemn the app on my win 7 machine

wbobeirne 2012-01-08 21:08

Game worked fine for me except that you most have coded it to be if right mouse down, use item. You want to change that on mouse up so it doesn't use every item.

A good start to a top down action RPG. The hunger and thirst seemed a little superfluous, but the idea of resource management is pretty cool. Combat was a little stale though, you kind of just... sit there. Great work though.

veralos 2012-01-09 04:43

I finished the game!

I found it annoying how the combat system forces you to take damage, and it's kind of boring since all you do is stand there. The graphics are good. I liked the lighting effects. well, it's not exactly lighting, but it looks cool anyway.

defiantburrito 2012-01-09 07:09

I finished the game. Having to open your inventory to use items is annoying, and it seemed like sometimes I used items by accident when I clicked.

The game is OK, but it seems kind of pointless. There isn't much strategy involved, just fight the guys one at a time and then use health packs.

The graphics are good!

For only 2 days, good job!

rawbits 2012-01-10 00:29

.NET? No way!

nicealexanderas 2012-01-10 03:37

All the rules of my game were planned almost at the end because the graphics were the first thing... o well, i can see that my game is good somehow and i'm happy with the results. Its my first game made in 18 hours(48 hrs - sleep/eat/etc) and the i very proud of my self. thanks for the feedback :D
