A good little game. It seemed that the jump happens on release rather than the press of the space bar. That took some getting used to.

A good little game. It seemed that the jump happens on release rather than the press of the space bar. That took some getting used to.
I love the lighting and the block-like constructions. Nicely done.
I like the simplicity of this design. It would have been nice to hear some audio.
I like the multitasking aspect of the gameplay.
I did consider that. It would make the game a lot easier, but it's difficult to know if that would make it better without a fair amount of play testing. I didn't have long to devote to the competition this year. The whole thing was made in about an hour.
Out of interest, what's your highest score? Mine's 25 so far.
Yeah it's random. It would be great to play a tune though. I definitely would have experimented with that if I'd had more time.
I did change the intro music. Originally it was just CEG but that sounded too 'final' when played and replayed. So I changed it down to CEF. Now it sounds 'incomplete' and the random additional notes carry it on.
Thanks. It helped that I stole a game idea that was already fun. It's a shame I couldn't think of anything to make it a little more innovative without adding complications.
Hm. It seems that the link doesn't work. But you can download the source from the game page. The link is at the top right of the page.
Okay, I think I have the link for the source working now. You will need a copy of Scratch to open it of course.
Or maybe I could have the walls closing in :)
I've posted an alternative web link because the Scratch web site is going down for a few days to upgrade to Scratch 2.0. I'll post about how to do that on the blog.
Done. http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/05/06/hosting-your-own-scratch-web-player/
I like that the mustache gets bigger the more you collect.
I love the music.
An enjoyable shooter.
I didn't get any audio. Was there any? I like the simplicity of the construction. It would have been easy to overdo the gameplay. I think you got the balance right there.
A worthy winner, well done!
I got it running with DOS box. I wasn't sure what you had to do though.
The download link doesn't appear to do anything?
I can download the files now, but when I click the pyw file, nothing happens. I'm running Windows 7 if that's a problem?
I like the camera view, it adds a kind of adventure dynamic to the game without complicating the game play.
Beautifully minimal!
I did feel as though I was not in control some of the time. Are there any subtle in game clues about which way the wind is going to blow next that I'm missing? My strategy is to see which way the box is headed and attempt to push it back to the centre. But it seems at times that even with a direction key held from the moment the box started to drift it wasn't enough to overcome the wind. So it seemed that at some points you would have to predict the wind change.
This game oozes style. I love the grating audio and the bizarre narration.
I like the thousands of pages of legal agreements. Nice touch.
I also got stuck getting into the transporter. But I started again and on the second run I just walked straight in!? The music and style of this game is excellent.
I couldn't get it to run. I'm using Windows 7.
Good fun game!
The interaction mechanics were quite quick to use, once I got the hang of them.
This has a nice visual style. Was there any audio, because I couldn't hear anything?
Good fun. It would make a good phone game I think.
A nice and simple idea but still challenging. Well done.
I liked the floating text instructions.
A nice remix of The Impossible Game. Was there any audio? I got no soundtrack / effects.
Nice game. I liked that the CPU players had a bit more variety in their movements than the usual chase and shoot.
I liked the flicking between the standard landscape and the minimalist one. That would be an interesting avenue to explore further.
This is a great idea. I love the concept of discovering larger and larger elements as progression.
The game didn't run for me even after installing .NET. I'm running on Windows 7.
Nice atmosphere.
Broken for me too. :(
I wasn't sure what the purpose of the game was. I like the way the cubes fill the space.
I think this is my favourite so far in terms of pure minimalism. And thanks for introducing me to Atanua! I may get my students modelling some circuits in their course with this next year.
This reminds me of my experiences playing Demon's Souls.
Good minimalist gameplay. The sudden changes of level (colour) really threw me at first.
A brilliant combination of style, simplicity and fun.
It doesn't run for me on Windows 7.
I like the art style.
This game conveys a lot of atmosphere with minimal components. But the gameplay is difficult to judge as the rules are only discoverable through playing the game and it would take a while with two players to figure out what the good strategies are.
Nice use of colour and fractal triangles.
Yeah, I do need to tweek the controls to make things a bit easier. I'm using the real gravity value for the moon and for the scale of the landing module.
I did want to make more levels, but ran out of time. Other commitments.
I think I might start on a post competition version. I'll put in more scenarios so that the abort mission option will have more meaning.
Yeah, I think I needed multiple levels to give a greater sense of loss from failing to land within the fuel limits.
I've started working on a post competition version of the game:
scratch.mit.edu/projects/12021906/
Issues addressed in this version:
* now easier to land
* sound effect volume reduced
* you can no longer crash into the warning messages
Thanks for the video. The compo version suffered quite badly from the rule that the feet had to land together. From the video it looks like that was what was causing most of the problems after getting the initially drop under control.
I've relaxed that rule in my post compo version. I needed to try out some alternative hit detection as the mechanisms Sctach has for this kind of thing are quite primitive. I think this has now made the game overly easy although I plan to release harder landscapes at some point to vary the difficulty and provide more of a campaign gameplay which will make aborting the attempt a proper risk / reward.
I love the graphical style.
Nice. The shooting seemed remarkably accurate. The inertia on the panda made it difficult to control though.
Also, getting 404...
Great fun. Nice use of the mouse wheel!
I tried with Linux Mint. It opens a zero size window, which you can resize, but the content is blank. That's about as far as I got. I tried with JDK 6 and 7
Really good idea. This game would be great on mobiles.
I've since found out that there was a make of screen that used a yellow sub-pixel in addition to the red, green, and blue. So that would have been even closer if I'd zoomed right in on one pixel.
It's surprising how hard it is. I think 5 is the best I've managed so far.
A nice take on the Cow Clicker style of game.
Good little game. I like it.
Nice mechanics. I think this would make a good little game. The style reminds me of the early Atari games.
People fear the unusual I guess.
Thanks. I like using Scratch for these kinds of things as it's easy to do, the source is open and accessible, and it's easy to embed the result into a web page.
I did think of maybe expanding the collection mechanic. Initially I was going to have a dance button but I ran out of time for animations.
Thanks. I got very lucky that the pacing worked out. The A.I. is aim at the troll and then +/- 30 degrees at random. Initially this is easy to avoid, but gets much harder as the number of lumberjacks increase.
I wrote up some more on the idea here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/08/25/a-trolls-life/
This is a nicely packaged game. I like the art style and the collection page offers a nice hook for re-playability. It's definitely a good fit for the theme.
Nice cathartic ending!
Great use of graphics and sound. Very well presented.
Great idea. It took a little time to figure out what to do, but it all worked perfectly. Well done!
The story and atmosphere were nice, but after I click on the first tile I couldn't get anything else to happen.
Sorry, I wasn't able to get this to run.
Amusing, but I'm not sure how it fits the theme.
Great atmosphere, well done.
This is a good mix of art music and gameplay.
Works for me in Chrome. A fun little game. Nice.
Great environment. I had some trouble with the mouse controls with the pointer leaving the screen and centring on the objects.
Nice spooky mood.
Sorry I couldn't play. I get half the screen and then "plug in failure" on the web version. Playing in Safari on a Mac.
This was a good use of the theme.
Cool! I love that there are two different modes.
The graphics were really great.
Great little game! It reminds me a lot of some of the home computer games of the early 80's. And that's no bad thing.
I loved the use of auto fire to allow the simple control. Nice sprites and music too. Flying into the start button to start the game was a nice touch.
Nice game. I like how you can control the speed to make it harder or easier on yourself.
I love the concept here!
I like the amount of customisation available in the set-up. The usage of the buttons was a little odd. Good fun game though.
Great work! I love the fuzzy TV effect!
Very interesting. I wasn't able to solve the puzzle, but I managed to successfully combine several of the items.
Thanks, I will pass on your comments.
Thanks, I will do.
Good idea. I had fun playing. Some ambient audio might enhance the mood a bit.
I like the inventive package of the theme and the mini-games. Very well put together with nice assets. What were the things you had to avoid in the coin collecting mini-game?
I love the idea here. I had problems with the interface and got stuck early on, but the main mechanic worked well.
A very nicely put together game. It fits the theme perfectly. I didn't figure out how to switch weapons using mouse and keyboard but it was still a fun game.
Excellent animations and art style. I think a small amount of audio would have helped with mood. Obviously it'll be better when it's more complete.
Good fun and quick to play. I like the graphical style. The gameplay mechanic of spot and focus was interesting. I felt the ghosts weren't afraid of the light because they never backed away.
Tough to play but fun. 4 was my high score.
I like the way you tell the story through the mechanics of the game. I wasn't sure how much of an effect I was having on the narrative.
Great graphics and audio. I liked the idea although I had difficulty actually crushing the nightmares.
Great use of the theme. I love the continuous conveyor, it creates a real natural time pressure. Good fun, but I think it needs more aim; perhaps a sequence of challenges with specific win conditions.
Nice original gameplay and well polished too.
The downward spiral is vicious. Nice game.
Really nice idea. I'm not too sure about the image recognition. I got a couple of 100% images that were ... not my best work.
Great game. I lost more goblins because I accidentally did a double reset.
Why Scratch? The honest answer is that I only had a few hours free this weekend, and you can throw stuff together really fast in Scratch.
It's a nice mechanic. You don't know whether to stock up on health or go for money.
Nicely put together. I found it hard to make much progress.
Great idea. I had some problems with the mouse selection, I had to kind of sneak up on the words to select them.
This was good fun. The timing was a bit tricky, particularly when you got two food items overlapping.
Great game. I found picking up the hard drives to be tricky.
How do you get more CO2?
Impressive quality. I got stuck entering my name until I figured out you could use the one of the keys to delete. Z or X, I forget.
Are you able to move through the circles as they fade out? It seemed like sometimes I could and sometimes I couldn't.
I started the game by running away from the hacker. Lol.
This was very well put together. A good collection of jokes. You have a good voice for voice acting. One criticism I have is that you right / wrong answer comments tend to grate after a while. But I thoroughly enjoyed playing.
This is brilliant. I found it a bit difficult to control will the mouse, but I think as a touchscreen game this would work really well. Well done!
This is a really well tuned game. And even has a tutorial. Amazing work.
This was sometimes hard, sometimes easy. I found it easier to just retry than try to recover a bad run. It has a good variety of puzzles.
This is a fun game with lots of character. I like how you need to juggle making the pancakes with driving. The hardest thing I found was finding enough customers.
