Love your art style, it's very reminiscent of yoshis island. The sprite warping looks really clean.

Excellent design. Very reminiscent of 1960's ad art. I love how the design on the blocks look like the iphone button, it's a nice visual.
One frustrating thing (it may be just because I suck at it) is that you can potentially mess up a puzzle so bad that you can't restart it.

I love the intro music. The harpsichord and flute just make me feel so happy. from the get go I can tell this is going to be a great experience.
The flow of the game is really nice and the writing compliments everything very well. The music in the main stage areas is a little too 'grand' for the feeling of the game. I love the whimsical feeling of the intro music, but the main stage music is a little much. Also the voice sounds get a little annoying when repeated over and over.
That being said, the main gameplay was a gas! I love the puzzle solving, and it never got stale, even in the later levels. The varying hats was a great take on 'unconventional weapons'.

Excellent job! It seems like a lot of hard work went into this. The end product is phenomenal.
Phenomenal game! The concept was incredibly well executed. The controls were fluid and responsive. The bubble mechanic was versatile and well implemented. The composition was pitch perfect and fun.
Really stellar entry, can't wait to see this developed more.

This may be my favorite LD game I have played yet! Summoning a horde of animals feels so amazing. Animations are solid, sprite work is spot on, movement feels perfect. Spot on game!

It's been said here a lot, but controls definitely need some work. However, I love the sprite work and the mechanic is really interesting. Would love to see this taken further.
As far as aesthetics go, I think the game could really benefit from a more comfy ice town feel, as apposed to ,what I'm assuming, is a frozen ruin type thing. Just personal opinion though, but I love comfy ice levels

Nice little game. I would try and put the directional keys as WASD though, as it was very hard to control
Your parallax-scrolling moves faster than your foreground, completely shattering the illusion of depth that parallaxing is supposed to do.
Also there's no indication that you shouldn't leave the screen to the right to continue the game, but when you do you can't get back on and the game is now broken. A simple solid object should fix that.
You have the start of a game. Develop it further.

Really cool take on a literal tower defense. The artwork was really fun and playful and the writing was silly as well. Gameplay was good, but I ran into a problem on my second play through where the story text wouldnt disappear and the game wouldnt start so I had to reload

Cute little game, but I would change the layout for the controls. It's very awkward using QAZ to play a game. This could very easily transition into a rhythm based game, seeing as you have to press the block button when the pizza is on it. I think that would benefit the game a lot, because as it stands it is very boring.

I will definitely be adding more content later. Some ideas are multiple characters (4-5), scrolling levels (like the ice climber stage in SSBM), level editor, and awesome power ups like bigger pillow, invincibility, heavy, etc.

unfortunately it is only local multiplayer ATM, but it would be great to get online functionality at some point (but I have no idea how to do that, lol)

Thanks for the input. I went with the different color pillows as a design choice, but it's good to know that that design choice doesn't work as well as I had hoped. Might go with simply a unified color.

What was the problem with the layout exactly? were the controls too cramped or was it just a weird hand positioning? Would moving the hit button to "T" fix the problem?

Thanks @RHY3756547 I'm making a new build for IndieCade and adding in a counter attack, which will add a little more skill to the game and make it more tactical when engaging your opponent. Also working on a much bigger level, but want to add a camera (similar to yours) which zooms in and out based on character position, but having difficulty implementing it in game maker.

This was a really cool concept done really well. Like you said, a radial menu (like secret of mana) would be really cool, but as an education tool I see the current layout as very beneficial. It would be great if there were a game that I could play with my Kawasaki keyboard and duel keyboard someone!

I'll basically just parrot what everyone else is saying. Sound and graphics look great, and I really love the intro. small stuff like that can really make a game into an experience.
However, the chef often gets stuck in the environment and the movement is very imprecise. Gameplay could use the same amount of creative flourish that the sound graphics got.

I looked at your AI tutorial and am trying to implement your advice into my game. Would love to learn more about how you did the smart camera, wall jumping, and animal physics. Everything in this game is so juicy, it feels amazing!
