Yes! hahaha! no one shall defeat the black forces of Death! I will conquer you all! (I'll probably be beaten once some more people try this game)
awwww Windows
HOW DID THIS GET 24% COOLNESS seriously I love it.
That was so damn weird and silly and creepy all at once and I like it. XD
...Public restrooms. Can be like this. People should not talk while they are taking a shit. :P
A critical thought-provoking satire on capitalism with themes about life, death, and the futility of Space Invaders.
The pages seem to be down at the moment. I might try again later. ;)
I like the graphics, but that's pretty much the only thing I liked very much, it kind of drags on and it's really easy once you figure out how it works.. The music was just okay. So.. Thumbs up for graphics. I guess I'm going with the majority opinion here.
I had a lot of fun with this, for what it's worth, I played first the 1 second, then 4, then I played 10 seconds three times and got the rock in 2 out of 3 tries. Also my best with 10 seconds delay was 00:06:14. At first I thought there was a glitch but this was only because I had not learned how the throttle works, once I got that it was pretty easy. But still a great little challenge, so, good work sir. I also like the landscape and graphics overall are nice.
Yeah it's pretty clever.
Where the eff did you get that wizard sprite? Cause I think I know exactly where it came from. Do you have an account on the GMG?
I lost twice because I didn't know where the capture point was, so maybe you should make the map smaller and more focused? But if you're making it multiplayer, that could be fun, except I didn't see much of a way to really avoid enemy attacks or counter them so you should make it so there are more strategies to use... That's my 2 cents anyways.
Yes, a fine example of a good simple game.
Yeah, so, I really like the idea of the commentary responding to what you do in the game. I haven't seen it used often, but it's fun. But sadly I found soooo many glitches. I had to consciously try not to break the game so I could hear all the dialogues. Still, great ideas. I like that quote from Einstien.
Okay. I just saw the ending. It was pretty cool. Nice twist by the way...
Also, couple things I didn't put in the other comment.
I kinda like the random roll animation like he's trying to look cool, nice touch.
And the dialogue about stuff you examine, reminds me of some old point-and-click games I used to love when I was a kid. You know Humongous Entertainment?
Anyways... Is there gonna be a sequel!? xD
Awww yes the graphics and music are well done, so kudos for that. Quite pleasant to listen to if you don't have the thrusting sound glitch.
It was hard for all the wrong reasons, and level 2 and the final level were really annoying, and yet... It was entertaining and funny. Having to shoot to move backwards, is more confusing than I expected, and you have to time it with how you press jump... Annoying as hell, but I like a bit of challenge, therefore thumbs up from me. :L
The part where you have to get past the red things without shooting too many times that's clever.
Awesome. Like many entries it shows potential for being made into a full game...
I'd prefer it be a little harder. Maybe you move slower when you carry people?
I congratulate you, Sir, on this, clever little game. For something that seems so short it does require you to sit down and practice quite a bit, and I like the ending and it was fun. Just frustrating enough to make you feel good about finishing. Well done.
This game is really cool and I think you ought to keep making some levels for it. Maybe spiff up the graphics. There was a bug where it displays copies of graphics and I think it appeared if you press Space at the wrong time, but I'm not sure. Other than that, it worked very well. It was hard enough to make you figure out some fun stuff you can do with the controls and I would love to see more of it!
MOTHAFUCKIN' MUFFIN GUN.
The graphics design and audio really are brilliant.
The puzzles with two characters may have been done before, but I really like how it works in this game. The simple graphical details like the circular effects and particles and cool waterfalls make it so much more interesting. 5/5 would play new levels.
Yeah, the difficulty caps out. The plan was to try and add more enemy types and maybe even give the dragon another ability, but I didn't get that far. Looks like I won't even have it for the jam. :/ I also would have liked to work on the music a bit more. But overall, I'm happy with it.
I killed the hero and it was surprisingly difficult and fun.
You definitely got the feeling of panic across, and the foolish humans are basically destroying their own city as you scramble around avoiding bombs. It's both cute and fun. It's also simple which is good for Ludum Dare.
It's pretty fun and has clean graphics. It's also fairly hard, but luckily there are plenty of respawn checkpoints.
The music loop is reeeally short.

When I realized there was a jump button it became waaay more fun! :D stomp stomp stomp
Sometimes I couldn't control where I was going though, or I would only jump a little and I didn't know why.
Good game though very cute.
I saw the articles about the game; It's really well done. It actually reminds me of "Papers, Please", but with a more direct connection to real world issues. The money can affect how you see the passengers. Like, I could take lots of people to be sure I make a profit but it's dangerous to be overcrowded and some of them will probably die. Who do I turn down? Do I accept someone who looks like a liability if they offer me lots of money? It's painful, and it gets the point across. 5/5, would not play again.
This is great. Level 2 is the hardest, so it was a tad disappointing to see the game ends after Level 3. Still, it's a good idea and it fits the PICO-8 format really well.
I loved the intro, and the voiceover... And the graphics filter and everything just set the mood really well. The music is...strange, but so is the gameplay. And yet, in spite of the strangeness, this little one-button game has a decent amount of replayability. It was much harder than I expected since it's entirely possible to get a lot of one color in a row and get to big and/or small if you don't actively switch colors. Good stuff.
I got in a situation where all the humans seemed to be spawning in one or two rows for a while and there were enough humans built up in row #2, from different time periods might I add, that I could not make anything last in that row long enough to kill them all. I tried repeatedly making the carapace and saving up to build lots of towers but nothing worked. That's how I lost.
The lag is most noticeable when I'm in the selection menu, which is quite bad.
But hey, it really is impressive what you've done here regardless. I like that you parodied Plants VS. Zombies. Please keep working on the balance and whatnot, it's a neat little game.
Couldn't un-zip the zip file. But I am on a Mac. :/
Sorry man, I gave it maybe fifteen minutes and it didn't load. I think something IS wrong.
I tried it four or five times. I got kills, but not a single ammo-drop, so I always ran out of bullets. Needless to say I didn't get far.
The music was bad but those voices were fun. It gets hard surprisingly fast! I got about 30,000 after a few tries. I love all the Frankenstein jokes. Good stuff.
Gah, I wish I could run it on my Mac it sounds great.
First thing I saw was a rogue lawnmower crashing in the road and then I ran around and I was so scary that people killed themselves trying to get away and I smashed fences and things. Hilarious. Not very long, but hilarious.
This game is far too long. I got the controls working, but I don't like the shop. It's artificial difficulty and the gameplay isn't fun enough to make me want to grind for experience. I gave up when I reached the first 2-blocks-high jump and I was sick of restarting the level over and over.
I love that you recorded your own narrations. If only the story weren't so predictable... Of course, it would have been more surprising if I didn't already know the theme was "You are the monster". The twist ending would still have been better, though, if it were a little more dramatic than a single sentence of text. Overall, though, the story was fairly evocative and there was quite a bit of tension as you decide wether to incarcerate people even when you have almost no evidence.
Had to plug in the larger keyboard that has 2 control keys just to play it, but it was amusing. It's difficult when you have to look at the keyboard and move your hands to reach all the controls, though. xD
I didn't find it incredibly challenging, but this was mostly because I figured out that you can lure individual guards away from the others and pick them off one by one, so I had lots of skeleltons by the end. I still enjoyed it, though.
It took me a bit to figure out that you can order skeletons to attack but when I did it got way more fun.
The low poly art is pretty cool.
I saw naught but a blank, black screen.
I chuckled when the character shed a tear at the end.
I love the friggin' story behind this game, that is the most badass hobo on the planet. And also the only hobo... The mood of this game is great and I would love to see it rebuilt as a larger game. You could totally elaborate on the story and make the main character real interesting. What did he see, through his bloodshot eyes, when he got outside the wall? WHAT DID HE SEE?
The death was totally stupid and of course I laughed out loud.

I'll admit It's pretty infuriating if you're going for a high-score, and the sound effects got on my nerves, but it's a good job for a 2-day game in javascript.
There isn't that much to learn in this one but the resulting mechanics are pretty interesting, mostly because a lot of it happens without you. Stray zombies can still convert people, so there is a tactical advantage in not making every single zombie follow you. There are plenty of other games about zombies, but this one still manages to be somewhat unique and entertaining.
The down side? The sound effects tend to pile up on top of each other enough to drown out the music and they're really annoying.
It's basically a demo of the 3D graphics but it looks pretty interesting, the lighting and reflections are impressive anyway.
I think I agree with Cory's review here. The game is somewhat RNG driven and doesn't have a lot of depth, but the story is good.
The ending was really cute. It was kind of a twist to get to see an ending that wasn't really dark, there are a lot of creepy games in this particular game jam. haha.
Woooow there's actually a lot of goofy stuff in this game for you to find. BRING ME ICE CREAM, SLAVE!!
I too was confused but there is something to be said for a game that can get the idea across without needing a lot of explanation. That said, I sort of wish there was a little more depth to the strategy. Once I had a manor or two I basically alternated between "Charm" and the weird spell that lures people to you, to keep them from destroying my buildings until I had enough... number to build a monster condo.
This is your first game? That's pretty damn cool. I always enjoy learning the mechanics of puzzles like this, and you could absolutely make more levels for it. Well done.
Hands down the funniest entry I've seen yet. It really does feel like the postman does this stuff on purpose sometimes. I don't know about randomly ramming into peoples' cars, though. xD
This game is hard.
The low-oxygen effect is way cool.
It would probably be easier to win if I just let most of the fires burn, though. This means that in this game you play as a drug lord in space who doesn't really care if his employees are in horribley dangerous work conditions. I think it fits the theme.
This is fairly well thought out and I didn't get any levels that wound up impossible to navigate. I often felt like the enemies were difficult to hit, even with automatic aim, but it made for an interesting challenge. You have to be really careful about unopened chests because the bullets seek out the nearest shoot-able item. I actually killed the boss on my first try and it felt pretty good. I would have liked if it were easier to maneuver side-to-side on the ground since you jump every time you press a button and sometimes it takes a few tries to get inside small spaces. However, the controls work pretty well considering the 2-button constraint. I didn't have any problem with the "press both buttons to shoot" mechanic and i think it's a good way to use the buttons. Overall, this game was a lot of fun and it seems well-polished.
The game wasn't so much difficult for me as it was time-consuming, since if I fiddle enough I'll probably get the magnets deposited eventually.
I reached that critical point where I was generating so many units it seemed like I couldn't lose, and there were so many I couldn't even click fast enough to move all of my armies. I was unstoppable!
That's when the game reset itself.
Not only is it Mac only, but my Mac is too new to run it. Here's hoping someone out there can actually play review this game.
