Loved it.
Loved the title, the graphics, the light from the gun and the enemies.
Simple good old style shootem up!
Jeremy1080, it's not real 3d, it's 2d trickery
Thought it was nice and simple, but the mouse movement was too fast sometimes, but I don't think thats a problem with your game?
Thanks for the feedback guys. I had accidently left some sounds files in there that are useless, They have been removed.
The R was to be for re-charging your battery in later levels to help game flow, you can recharge for for a score penalty.
I've changed the link to a ZIP file (same game just zipped)
Yes it ends when you get legs, I ran out of time for level design, spent too much time on code
^^ Fixed, sorry, apparently because I missed the Http:// it wouldnt show up
josefnpat could you tell me what the error was? like was it no lwjgl exception or something?
Uncomfortably I don't have an XP machine to test this on, i've only tested it with x64 windows.
if you open a command promp window from the folder where the LudumDare24.jar file is and type java -jar LudumDare24.jar then you can tell me what the error is, it could be that its missing a .dll or that your java isnt up to date.
I meant Unfortunately* not Uncomfortably...
Anyway I updated some Native Libraries for winx32 macosx and linux
you have to have the latest version of java installed. I'm pretty sure thats why you are getting that error. Its compiled with the JDK 7 so you need the latest JRE.
Thanks EnigmaBlade, its my first time packaging a game for distribution and people are getting all these errors, but thanks for helping me cut down space :)
thanks man :)
I know, I do apologise, It's my first Ludum Dare / attempt at making a decent game. so I intend to be much more productive next LD :)
Thanks, I appreciate it
Good Concept, Didn't really see how it fit in with the theme. Graphics were good, but the flashing lightning gave me a sore head
I really like this, the level design, objects and enemies were very unique, and you use sound very well to your advantage, it gets you right in the zone. Completed it, love it
I really loved the way you used different sounds, when you move or jump and they change depending on your level of jump move or fire, makes it blend in with the music background, I really liked it.
Game play was also good, but those turrets could get annoying , maybe take how much damage they do down a little bit or give the player more health :)I'd like to see this game again later
I really enjoyed this, say and played this on the train on my laptop for like 20 minutes!
Well done
Reall fun game :D
Didn't take me too long to whip this little game up. its not very complex!
However it's a lot more successful than my last Ludum Dare, which was a disaster :P.
feel free to let me know about any bugs.
There is 2 ways to start the game.
1:click the Run.bat (this will open cmd on windows and it will stay there)
2:click on the LudumDare26.jar which will start the game.
The game uses the Slick2D game library and creative commons sound.
Yeah! for some reason the applet will load and play from my computer but not if I put it on my webhost
Fixed it. However for some reason if I try to use the version with sound, it just refuses to load in the applet for some reason =[. Download the native for funkay sounds!
I didn't realise you could move on by pressing space. you're only suppose to be able to do that when you have a bomb. that's a simple glitch fix. Thanks for the criticism guys keep it coming :D
thanks :)
thanks for the advice. yeah a few people have mentioned the restart thing. I'm not sure if they mean restart the wave or restart the actual whole game. because if you press enter at the game over screen it takes you back to the menu.
My source is soo messy, I don't usually code like that. I think when I get a bit of time I will use stateBasedGame. I lost a lot of time at the start of the comp by half making a game then abandoning it cuz I made it in swing / awt, and decided to do this in slick2d
:)
yeah that's a big problem with my entry. it does eventually get impossible!
One of someone else's ideas was to move size with health, which I will do as out of compo addition. but thanks :)
oh no. Thanks. I forgot to resize the window when I resized the window
That was really enjoyable. Even thought it was a little short. but awesome! good work!
you should also make source available!
you gotta tell me how to get the sound working in an applet. it wont load for me in my game.
Pretty cool game though :)
Pretty sweet game, I like the music. but sometimes it can be really hard too fast.
you based this on super Metroid! I love that game and i love this. awesome
