Wow, I did not expect that shark like that, that was awesome - what a great use of 3D!
Was very enjoyable. Didn't get that I was 'boosting' at first, after my first death and the help tip I got it. Fun art style, great work!
Yeah! The shark was crazy! I was like uhhhh why cant i go lower and then he popped out of nowhere lol. The gun was kinda hard to use tho.
Cool sound effects! I liked the art too. The boost was a bit hard to use.
Really nice looking game, it's fun to see all the critters floating around with you - loved that the squids made ink particle effects!
I agree with greysphere: the shark was really awesome. I like that you can sort of see it coming in the distance as this dark looming figure! It took me a bit of time to understand the mechanics of the game, and I always died by running out of energy, so that resource seemed to be the most important one to manage. Cool little game though, great job! :)
In my opinion, the game has a steep learning curve for the weapon. It took me a few tries to get used to it and I still cannot master the usage of it. I managed to beat the shark once but accidentally hit the sides of the ocean, causing me to lose all my health. I think the game is kinda tricky and could do with some tweaking of difficulty.
I did quite enjoy the balance between the different values. When I was dodging the shark, I had to make sure not to use the boost too often or my pressure would get too high. When I was attacking the squids, I had to avoid using up too much energy. And my health was always a problem.
The game was a little short, although maybe that's because I didn't play through the entirety of it.
The art style was great. I especially love the model for the shark.
Anyways, nice job on the game!

You did a great job of creating a mood and a sense of place. I would have liked to see more responsive gameplay mechanics, but over it was nice. It was hard to tell what the weapon was or when/if it was hurting the enemy. I did pretty well until I got to the bottom, once down wasn't an option anymore, I wasn't sure what to do except to die by the shark. Great job on that shark as well. It was pretty awesome. Well done!

Nice 3D assets - especially for a compo! You created a cool underwater atmosphere.
I didn't realize you were supposed to shoot the creatures with your cannon though, I thought it was more energy-efficient to just avoid them. Obviously that strategy didn't get me to the bottom!! I got to the shark but then I didn't get deeper.
Impressive that you have sound, music and 3D all done in compo, congrats.
Mwahahaha, as long as I use the down arrow and not S key to submerge, the timer never starts and the bars stay in place. Number one time ranking with 0.0s, here I come!
Jokes aside, I'm really amazed how much you did for the compo! I loved the gameplay idea, balancing the three bars while making a descent. Thinking about it, a sub is probably one of the places where running out of energy is something you'd want to avoid and that happens relatively often (at least in fiction, I hope not in real life). So yeah, amazing models, cool atmosphere and good use of the theme. All in all one of the best entries I've played thus far, though it might need a little polish.
What a creative and interesting game you created. I have to agree with everyone else, that shark was awesome! The graphics were well done and I loved the movement of the fish. The music and sound definitely helped immerse you as you played. I did find the gun a little tricky but once I got the hang of it everything was cool. Well done!
Nice visuals and theme. I think the pressure mechanic should be relieved faster as waiting around (for a long time) for it to drop isn't engaging. Well done for a jam game!
Very cool! Nice gameplay concept and solid execution. Good variety of enemies and excellent mood.

Good work! The art is really cool. Amazing you completed all this in the compo. I liked the idea of having a double line shooting submarin, but obviously the shark is the best :D

Hello,
I like the way gameplay is designed. On one side there is energy which is pushing you to move further, on the other one there is pressure that is slowing you down, clever.
I see that you have put a lot of work into models and animations. But I think that using 2D or some kind of 2D/3D hybrid on this type of game would be more beneficial, especially at Compo. It would give you more time for polishing the game and making it more enjoyable.

Hi, it was already say but i'm very impressed that you have create all thoses nice 3D assets and give birth to this virtual world, and in only 48h, it's not even a Jam, it's a Compo, wowowow !! The controls could be enhanced for be more reactive and give you more the sense of being underwater, and I've got an hard time controlling the canon, but anyway that was pretty good. And the audio helps too for get you in the mood. Nice little game and solid compo entry, good job !

The UI is a bit cluttered here, was hard for me to pay attention to everything and still play the game. Once I got past that I had fun but i think an updated UI could massively improve your game.
A really fun little game; only two real comments - firstly, there's no indication except in the video that you need to kill the fish in order to recharge your energy; it's quite frustrating if you don't know this! And secondly, your 3d art is great - I love the art style - but if you're going to keep working on this (you should, it's a really solid base for a game!) you'll probably want to rethink the 2d art (i.e. energy/pressure/health meters).

I really wanted to try out this game after seeing the teaser picture between the other games! I'm glad that I did.
The 3d graphics are very good! I especially liked the unique design of the sub. The particle effects were nice as well. Although I didn't think the 2d overlay complemented the 3d. It wasn't as clear or fitting.
I also liked the unique music a lot. It sounds very underwater-like!
My only other gripe with the game is that some things weren't immediately clear. Like why I couldn't descent any further. Or getting more energy.
Other that that, impressive entry!
Art was really good! Controlling the shooting was a little bit weird. The animations when you die was very awesome as well. Great job!
Really cool modeling especially the shark! It took me some time to get used to the aiming control and that is pretty cool! However, that's nothing after the shark, then it took me about 2-3 mins just to wait for the pressure down and get to the end. The pressure system is cool but it may need a better used :P

I had a lot of difficulty with the controls, my shots seemed to pass through things, or they would die when shots looked like they missed. Got down to some level ad I just couldn't move anymore and started taking health damage. I liked the feel of it, and the visuals were great, especially the shark =).

A very atmospheric game. You made a lot of nice art, especially considering it is a compo entry!
Finding out how the energy system worked took a bit of experimentation. I ran out of power several times before I got the hang of it. It was rewarding having to "master" the various concepts.
The game was rather hard without mouse-lock though, especially when trying to turn the weapon. My cursor kept escaping to my other monitor.
The shark was a very nice touch. It would have been the perfect place to add a small "Jaws"-like musical sting :D
It was an enjoyable game, with a excellent mood. Nice work! :)
By the way, you should consider "hearting" the comments/feedback that you find useful. It encourages other people to also leave good comments, and it is an important part of the new karma algorithm on the ldjam website :)

@captaindreamcast Thank you very much for your nice comment and feedback! Not going to lie, I read your comment while I was at work and my boss pulled me into her office asking what was so amusing. She was not happy with my answer, but I was still in a good mood all day. So thanks for making my day :)
@farhan-qureshi and @goldranger Thank you for the feedback. I will agree with you, the pressure mechanic didn't come down as fast as I would like for it to be engaging all the way down. It was one of those last minute balancing changes I tried to make, that I don't think quite panned out how I wanted.
@ctrlphreak and @estebe I appreciate your feedback and comments! I will have to agree with you on the 2D art. The bars were the first thing that I made in the jam and that was the last time that I had touched them. I had not thought about going back and cleaning them up at all. I will keep that in mind going forward! :)
@somnium Thanks for the comment!! I think you are spot on though, I didn't even think of a "Jaws" style song. That would've been cool :)
Wow, how did you ever have time to fit all this in 24 hours.. The graphics were great, the mood was amazing, I loved having to juggle the gauges as I went down, lots of tense gameplay. And the shark, wow.
I hope you're very proud of your entry!!!! Top marks from me!

Seems fun, but because of the way aiming works, I kept clicking outside the game window. You should lock the cursor to the game window even in fullscreen mode, because if someone has two monitors, they can still click outside the game. This is, in my opinion, the kind of bug fix you could implement while still in submission for the compo.
Neat graphics, the audio less so; it is all over the place.
The ship controls well enough, but the cursor should most certainly be locked and hidden to make the cannon controls clearer as mentioned by others.
It seems everything is scripted to the bone. I got the the shark bit, dodged right under the rockface, picked up some energy orbs, could no go any further down and then the eels came back for some revenge. Tried multiple times to get past that situation, but could not.
The idea is interesting, the execution not quite there.

This was a really nice game, the gameplay was a bit simple but enjoyable. I think the music was really nice and fit perfectly.

very nice graphics. Took a bit to understand all the meters you have to manage, but in the end it was a nice experience.
You made this by yourself in 48 hours, wow amazing, good game, although the gameplay could a little bit more intuitive, but I really liked, great job!

Amazing game ! I like your creativity, the way you let us controls and see the submarine and the use of the depth (the shark wow!). Great work with nice graphics, it's really impressive. Great entry, one of the coolest I saw !!
