if it still doesn't work, I'll rebuild it with xna 3.1, so please let me know :)
ok...I'm gonna do a 3.1 build, then
ok, xna 3.1 build and source is up. let me know if it works:)
in case it crashes and you have the means to build the source, please let me know if you can run it from source. I just ran it on my eeepc and 2 other laptops I don't do dev on, and it runs fine
@Cybs hmmm...can you post your specs? maybe something's below the minimum requirements for XNA...also, can you pastebin the error?
@Cybs ok, I added some debug code and the console shows up now. if there's an error, it should show up in the console.
I don't think xna needs to downgraded. but please go ahead and install 3.1 redist, too. no need to remove 4, just run the 3.1 redist:)
@id0001, Endurion, mjb67 I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
@Dark Acre Jack yup, they do seem a bit loose, but I'm not quite sure how to improve them...hmmm
@Dan C wow, that's a lot of feedback! thanks! :)
I'm gonna start with the flamethrower. It's designed to work that way, cause otherwise it would be stupidly overpowered. now, it forces you to actually do something rather than just sit there and flame. flamethrowers are regarded as a close range weapon, so I went with that:)
I'm gonna replace some sprites for the bullets, but I ran out of time. got some sprites ready. as for the actual weapons, I'm going to improve the sprites a bit. they each have individual designs, but since they're so small, it's a bit hard to see the details.
As for the music, my initial thought while reading the rules was that I could use music that wasn't made by me, as long as I had the legal rights to do that. but now I see that extends only to sound samples and stuff like that. I'm going to make the author more visible.
And as for weapons, I'm going to tweak them a bit. the pistol is somewhat decent, albeit a bit slow, but the shotgun is close to useless. It was actually more of a test. And as for the black hole gun, I'm thinking of randomly spawning a weapon after you placed the black hole. Also, I'll stop firing after you pick up the black hole gun, so it won't end up being placed in the wrong position.
Again, thanks for all the feedback!
