So far the game is unplayable. You might want to fix that quickly and also make a Windows port. (More participants use Windows than GNU/Linux)
At first I played the game and I was confused. Then I read the instructions and got even more confused. It does strive for innovation but the game is kinda of unplayable because of the constant frame rate issues (runs a bit choppy on all the settings for me) and the constant flickering.
The idea is good, and it has potential, but I personally couldn't succeed in playing it and having too much fun.
Pros for the audio, thought, it really lifts the game.
Unable to run on WinXP SP3. Sorry.
Hey, good to see another person that submitted his/her first entry. Good luck with you game. :3
Here's my review: The game is not bad. The physics are quite okay, the jumping does what it job and the platforms are well placed, but I really have a bone to pick with the audio. The first being the necessity of having a res file (this will be fixed once you get more experience). The second problem with the audio is that it seems too loud and a bit too unpleasant, for me personally. You might want to work a bit on the collision detection.
Overall, the game is pleasant and it follows the theme pretty well. 4/5 ;3
Interesting game, seems rather unfinished but I had a bit of fun with it for a bit.
Decent game.
The things that held the game back were: Some text/menus looked a bit unprofessional, the character slides too much when moving, as opposed to the choppy movement in an actual gameboy game.
Other than that the game is okay. 3/5 overall.
Just realized there was a bug that skips the first 13 levels, fixed it now and I'm pretty sure no rules of LD48 were broken :3
@Tifu: Unfortunately no. I was planning for a self-moving side scroll action, where you would only need to jump in order to dodge obstacles and grab coins, but I was running out of time and adding a new game mechanic would cost some time, plus, I would've had to design those levels too.
@MrBlade: People like you make me proud that I am a programmer <3
Thank you for your nice feedback!
@Pickens Inc: Sadly it does not. I am unsure if rules allow me to fix that or not. As far as I am aware, you are only allowed to fix bugs that make the game unplayable.
Pardon once again for the bugs.
Impressing text based game! But I do believe should be the fresh new "Door Simulator 2013".
Nah, just kidding. Amazing work and looking forward to whatever you will do next time c:
4.5/5 ♥
Quite a fun game! A small thingy I saw is that the ingame skills are in russian, even tho I chose english. But yeah, simple and fun :3
The music is free for commercial usage from playonloop. I opted out the audio voting because of that reason.
I really enjoyed the game! It's actually a really good game :3 I know it's meant for singleplayer, but if it had local coop, this game would've been even more amazing! 5/5!
Looks and plays great! A bit laggy on my end, but nothing else seems wrong!
The graphics of the game are appealing, but the lack of sound effects and music, makes the game fall a bit short :< The game doesn't stick too close to the theme, but I guess it can be fun if you had another player to play with c:
Pretty cool game :3 I quite dig the concept of the game :3
This is a pretty good game, but you need to practice it to get good at it, it's quite difficult to master. But good game nonetheless :3
Fun but the graphic it's quite poor, I actually like the weapon yet there could've been more work on the graphics, I guess.
Amazing game! It's very simple and quite fun once you get used to the steering mechanics. :>
It's a nice little game! I quite enjoyed it! :>
I really dig the SNES/Genesis style of graphics, living the 16bit era like it's 1995. The music is great too!
The only real problem I have with the game (as stated by other people too) is that it's just too difficult because the collision, making it way more difficult than it needs to be :(
Still a great game tho! :D
The gameboy graphics nail it! I love the art style ♥ The controls take a bit to get used to. Very innovative :>
@TheMonsterFromTheDeep: Delete your savefile in the root of the game and it should be fine :>
@HuvaaKoodia: Thank you for the constructive criticism. I did intend to add more things, but considering the time constraints and because I was in full finals week I just couldn't pull it off. I initially wanted to add system where you could sell the resources tool upgrades that increases your XP gain per click.
Nice little game! Quite challenging! c:
The game does strive in the comedy department a bit XD It's a very unique concept of a game!
The music, though funny, it can get a bit annoying! o:
A sheep in a suit is chasing you. The collision is a bit annoying and needlessly hard. It's alright, but could use some work o:
Interesting attempt at a terminal game, but I think it would've been best if you have put all those remaining hours to work instead of posting the game so quickly. It feels a bit dull and it's easy to break (according to your source code that you kindly provided with the binary).
Don't take this the wrong way, it's a nice attempt, but I think you should put a little more effort next time. :)
Download not working. :(
Nice little game! I didn't expect to see Vivian James in a game O:
Hey! Nice idea for a game, that was actually what I originally intended to make but I scrapped it and decided to do something else! (Also a C++/SFML user c:) Would've been great if you managed to pull off the engine work by the end to get some gameplay done.
Sadly I can't really give it much in terms of rating because it doesn't have a gameplay, but the graphics and the engine seem stable c:
I love the gameboy graphics! But the random game interruption kind of ruin the experience for me, but that's just my opinion! The game itself is alright!
Great job with the game :> It's definitely something worth expanding on! The style and aesthetics are great! c:
Intriguing concept, but the mechanics are hard to figure at the start. o:
Interesting concept and quite fun to play! As other people said, it does get insanely hard quickly!
The music is not on sync with the bars, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a rhythm game :( Also the shrinking and growing feels a bit ... stiff. With some work, it would be nice!
The first level is incredibly hard, then it's easy. It's a nice little game, but it could use more work!
Hasta la Vista, baby.
Nice little game, but could use some more working on it c:
No Windows support?
That really narrows your audience :(
Strange and new idea, but if you literally tap A and D you can never lose, also the reaction window is so small, I dunno, it just doesn't click with me. It's probably because of the style or the music taste. Either way, good work!
It looks really nice and seems quite responsive, but the lack of gameplay kind of leaves me dry and there is a small problem with the resolution being too big. :(
Would've loved to see how the gameplay worked :>
Amazing game! One of my favorites! Pretty much everything about the game was good: the graphics, the audio, the controls!
It does take a bit to get used to the controls at the start, but once you do, it's great!
Sorry, but it doesn't follow either of the themes (uses more than two controls and no growing aspect) and a meme game is just.. ugh. Sorry.
A bit hard to get used to the controls in the beginning, but it's good once you do it!
The graphics and the audio are just amazing! :>
Good work!
@Everyone: Thanks for the comments so far, I really appreciate all the feedback given!~
@Ryusui: Thank you, I myself am a bit disappointed I didn't get to add as many features as I liked in the game. I had this idea that multiple resources can be attributed to one city and based on favour, you can gift those new resources, but I just lacked the time because I had a super busy IRL weekend </3
It's a nice game. There's a few minor bugs, but it's a nice game!
Interesting game, tho I have to complain about the physics. Moving feels like it's on ice entirely, jumping is just hovering (increasing on the y axis) as opposed to being anything and you can avoid killing all monsters as it will grab the "level" of the last one you kill. And the room is usually too dark.
The visuals and music and core idea are okay, but the physics kind of ruin it a bit for me.
Good entry nonetheless!
Nice game! I really like the concept, but the whole pyramid scheme seems just a tad bit overly complicated and the enemies put themselves in front of the games, which makes it almost impossible to shift.
Awesome game! :>
Awesome music! Good job!
Amazing lightning and atmosphere! It's a bit difficulty because of the shooting being only 2 directional, but oh well. Nice game!
Awesome game, the animations are pretty cool!
Interesting concept, but the physics and the camera just make it impossible to play! Otherwise nice game!
I got to level 5! (and then crashed the game ;P)

Absolutely addicting! One of the best games I played at this LD <3 Great concept, bouncy music, graphics on the spot. Excellent work!
Maybe it's just me, but it's a bit hard to get used to shifting, thinking the controls aren't super intuitive (W,S,X for shifting, but attack on LMB or T?)
The game looks great and it performs nicely, the only real complaint I can give is the controls binds need rework, but other than that, excellent work! :D
Nice little game! Simple concept and quite fun if you have some time to waste! :D
For a game made under an hour, it's pretty nice! Simple and fun concept, and easy enough to make you keep playing. The music is well done too!
Good work :)
