LD21 — Escape

McPixel by Sos 2011-08-28T18:06:00

A little bit like Myst where the only strategy is clicking every single pixel on the screen. But at least, unlike Myst, it's designed for short attention spans. I thought this was one of the funniest entries.

Save the Miner! by AClockWorkLemon 2011-08-28T17:04:00

It was a little frustrating because of the short field of view - I'd rather see the goal and race to get to it, rather than have it concealed and stumble around. Other than that, very simple and fun.

Escape Cod by Tom 7 2011-08-28T18:03:00

Extremely twisted. This was one of my favorite games in the compo, by the way.

Escaparazzi by Felipe Budinich 2011-08-28T16:44:00

I like the way the difficulty escalates over time as a consequence of more paparazzi and more cars. It would have been nice to have some kind of score that you can play for after beating the game.

Rainbow Jail by Benjamin 2011-08-28T18:08:00

This might be my favorite game of the compo. I'd buy it if it were a mobile game.

A tale about life, death and a looser. by deepnight 2011-08-28T17:12:00

It took me a while to warm up to it, but I like it. I kind of wish there were more games out there in this style.

Caved In by alexlarioza 2011-08-28T17:33:00

More fun than I've had with most roguelikes! Would have been more fun without the fog of war effect - I'd prefer to see where I'm going, even if it's hard to get there, than to stumble around. I'd buy this if it were more complete.

Prelude of the Chambered by Notch 2011-08-28T17:57:00

Very cool. You did the impossible: writing clean Java code! Still trying to figure out how you did the rendering.

Slip Away by cambrian_era 2011-08-28T18:13:00

The controls were a little too buggy to be fun on my machine. I love the artwork, it kind of reminds me of Splatterhouse.

I Think In A Minute Or So I Will Explode by Hangedman 2011-08-28T17:59:00

This was one of my favorite games of the compo. I'd buy it if it were a little more polished.

City Runner by DGoodayle 2011-08-28T17:00:00

This is a great entry, although I prefer to see the goal and struggle to get to it, rather than have the goal concealed and stumble around.

The Cell by kevglass 2011-08-31T22:34:00

I could have used some instructions ("press space to replicate" isn't enough). Other than that, this is one of the best entries. Also appreciated having the source code, as I used Slick for my entry as well!

Freeway escape by Bartje321 2011-08-31T22:49:00

I like that the controls and gameplay are simple and straightforward. Also, the non-standard screen size was a nice touch.

Virtual Girl by splixel 2011-08-28T17:25:00

Great graphics and level design. It would have been more fun with a life bar.

Hell Fortress Escape by hulahulahest 2011-08-28T17:30:00

Love the graphics and level design. It would have been more fun without so many jumping puzzles, IMHO. :)

Heist by Orz 2011-08-23T22:03:00

You can actually touch the lasers with your hair without setting off the alarm. But teah, the timer is too long, the gate takes too long to close, and there's no "play again" feature. I might add those along with sound effects in another revision.

The Island by balorian 2011-08-31T22:45:00

Very ambitious for a 48 hour compo. I have a similar project so I know how tough it is to complete this. I found it slow and confusing in the beginning, but the graphics were really clear and functional, and I like the feedback on the AI state of the sailors.

Escape from Monster City by KevinWorkman 2011-08-31T22:54:00

This might be my favorite entry. I love the simple gameplay and controls, and the fact that the light is an actual gameplay element (not just atmosphere).

NO ESCAPE by kato9 2011-08-28T17:36:00

Not really a game, doesn't fit the theme, and doesn't belong in this compo. But I really liked, the graphics & animation and hope you make one for the next compo.

Tea Powered Escape! by Gachuk 2011-08-28T17:18:00

Kind of buggy and confusing. I still gotta respect someone who finished, though.
