LD37 — One room

DangerRoom by hermetic 2016-12-12T04:36:00

Good work overall. I like the background and layout, it has an unique feel to it, good choice there. I had a hard time telling which way I was firing, maybe make it a bit more obvious with a larger cannon or change the color of the rebounding bullets. I actually didn't realize I could move the ship during the first play through; I think it may even be easier if you just sit in the same spot!

Test Chamber by ema1ih 2016-12-13T03:07:00

Wow, very challenging game! I can tell some serious thought went in to level design here. You did a very good job of planning where I was going to jump and run, and did your very best to punish me for it :)
I really like the font you used between cut-scenes. Is that custom made?
All you need to add to make this perfect is a time-trial mode.

VacuumBot by Dvorgaz 2016-12-13T03:34:00

Great idea!

Solitude (VR) by neon 2016-12-12T02:49:00

That was a fun little experience! At first I got so lost in my drawing that I didn't even realize what was happening around me. When I looked up it was a true surprise.
It would be cool if you could walk through more of the world.
The paint colors were a bit of a mystery. Perhaps they should better correspond to what they paint?
Overall, good job!

Mortal by Robert 2016-12-13T02:36:00

Good looks and decently challenging. Spent a solid 10 minutes trying to figure out that 2nd room. I was both cursing you and praising you for a job well done!

DedecoratorVR by fdr 2016-12-14T23:52:00

Thanks for the feedback. The det cord thing is a known issue. As long as you don't try to pick up a piece after you have placed it you should be OK. I know there are definitely some issues with height bouncing around. Originally I was planning to keep the player at ground level, but it seemed more interesting to be able to jump to anywhere (with the cost of it being buggy). Thanks for playing!

DedecoratorVR by fdr 2016-12-17T01:23:00

I've uploaded an updated build which should address bugs with the det cord, low frame rate, and possibly the player teleporting issues. Note that grabbing an explosive and placing it under your head will still force you to go flying. Keep the explosives at a safe distance!

Roomba Rampage by PeachTreeOath 2016-12-13T02:43:00

Best music of the whole Jam. I liked all the various things floating around; they provided a challenging course as well as a fair bit of humor as I rolled around vacuuming a virtual carpet.

LD38 — A Small World

Extension by Pixetrichor 2017-08-02T00:00:19Z

I like a good puzzle, but this was tough. I could not figure out the eye puzzle even with the provided hints. I can see you made a lot of content based on the hint guide, unfortunately I don't think many people will see it all. Perhaps something in the game like a free pass token could be used (at least for a game jam) to skip a selected puzzle.

Overall the gameplay was smooth. Some type of audio would be a nice touch to add on, even if it is just clicking as you type or dings when you unlock an area.

LD39 — Running out of Power

I'm an (nuclear) engineer! by zgragselus 2017-08-02T00:19:14Z

Day 1: reactor exploded instantly. Day 2: reactor exploded instantly. Day 3: reactor exploded instantly. Day 4: decided filling the whole reactor matrix was not a good idea. 9MW generated. Reactor exploded.

Success.

Audio Hook (formerly Hook, Beat, & Keeper) by mrjoshuamclean 2017-08-01T23:38:47Z

This was a great surprise. The game started out fairly slow and while it was novel it was only moderately interesting. The suspense really picked up in that last level though and I could feel what this game was meant to be! I would definitely recommend for future jams you ramp up the game early on to catch the interest of people who otherwise wouldn't keep playing and wouldn't find out what an awesome game you made!

Deflection by Gnarly Narwhal 2017-08-02T23:12:29Z

Interesting game, I definitely like the concept, especially using the multiple threads to add addition difficulty. It would be helpful to have some indication of how the time is passing in the game. The help box says "laser moves at one tile per second" but that is not correct; it moves at one tile per tick. The text editing can be a bit tedious, perhaps a button clicking or drag-drop mechanism could be used instead.

The Crown Prince by Baby Dino Herd 2017-08-01T23:22:43Z

It was a bit confusing to start. I'd like to see the lore more integrated in to the actual gameplay. I liked the coin system and the combination of strategy and quick thinking it presents. Gameplay perhaps needs a bit of a balance; I had trouble getting to the end of the first round.

Coffee Hero: Powered by Coffee by Guilb 2017-08-04T23:44:50Z

I like the graphics style. Even though the shapes and colors look simple I can see a lot of time went into making them. For example, the way the head bobs when walking. Good attention to detail!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Orbits by tuism 2017-12-09T01:52:10Z

Tough game but great concept. It's a great feeling when those orbits are blasting around just narrowly missing each other. In order to extend the gameplay a bit it might be useful to add some progression, like allowing for more planet movement or a wider field of view. Great job!

Babies! Babies! Babies! by Local Minimum 2017-12-09T02:36:37Z

Hahahaha that was the perfect combination of creepy and hilarious.

Intelligent Fireball Cleanup Detail by smilewood 2017-12-06T03:00:36Z

I could see sinking a lot of time into a game like this. Simple mechanics can lead to addictive gameplay. Throw in some polish and you are good to go! My only question is...why is the fire mechanic tied to right click??

テッ球 T E K K Y U by simonhutchinson 2017-12-06T01:22:42Z

Awesome job with the audio. The artwork was simple in complexity but the overall composition has a very artistic feel to it which really adds to the experience. Great entry!

Dangle Copter by pkenney 2017-12-08T03:17:17Z

Very well done! Had a blast playing this. I'm sure the difficulty was toned down for a game jam, but having helicopter damage when you hit the walls would really step up the intensity! Great game.

Greed is a $in by Linky439 2017-12-10T21:27:20Z

Great job, a lot of content here for a compo. This felt almost like I was playing The Legend of Zelda. The music and sound effects really set the mood for the gameplay. I see lots of attention to detail; it's the little supporting details that really make a game shine! What engine, if any, did you use to make this?

Pirate Cat by valkyrie 2017-12-09T02:13:38Z

I definitely liked the concept of the game but that was pretty confusing to play! Cats? Money?? Air balloons??? Great jobs stretching the limits of reality. You might want to tame the sound effects a bit, they were a bit aggressive on the ears.

Tosser by Mik3 2017-12-06T04:49:44Z

Colors could use adjustment to make it easier to tell what needs to go where. In the end I just ended up launching everything into the gold bin cuz I had too much stuff and not enough time to deal with it!

sewer runner by wizord 2017-12-06T01:34:50Z

You have most of the parts of a working game here. The only thing that seems missing is either a goal to work towards or an indication that you are making progress. There seems to be a pretty extensive maze of a map which is hard to navigate without having some sort of marker or indicator to tell where you have been. Remember this trick, if you get to the end of the jam and your game isn't quite done, a brief story line in the description can help to fill in the gaps!

Bee Rush by FDR 2017-12-06T01:58:23Z

I tried several times to make a web build but had some issues with Unity. I'll see if I can get one published soon! *Edit: macOS build link added!

Bee Rush by FDR 2017-12-08T04:06:22Z

Awesome feedback, thanks! Control balancing was a very difficult part of this game. The current config was about as good as I could get it in the available time. There is definitely plenty of room for improvement!

I managed to hit a top score of 44, blasting through at full speed and only picking up 3 new bees right at the end~~

Bee Rush by FDR 2017-12-09T06:06:31Z

@thebox193 Thanks for the feedback. I can't verify a working mac build. I used a target of OSX 32 in the unity cloud build. Do you need a different platform build, perhaps OSX 64 or OSX "universal"?

Money Laundering Simulator by candlesan 2017-12-09T01:33:34Z

Fun game, I could feel the pressure building as I was scrambling to get the requested funds. I am a bit disappointed that after laundering $394k I was terminated for being short by just $1,000! My one suggestion would be to add some sort of calendar display so it is a little easier to track what day it is and when the deadline is. I also didn't make the connection for several rounds that the henchmen are what limit the choices you can make!

The Invasion of Robots by Swifttech 2017-12-06T04:35:54Z

Very impressive to build a playable, native OpenGL game in two days!

Bluemans adventure by Good Day 2017-12-06T01:55:57Z

Interesting take on the theme. I enjoyed playing this, I had to redo some of the levels multiple times so the difficulty was right on par. The pace seemed a little slow however, the game really starts to pick up once you turn into a rolling ball. Excellent job on the tutorial too.

Can't Save Them All! by Robert Newman 2017-12-08T03:26:00Z

I wanted to love this game but the controls were too hard to work with. I could not consistently go in the direction I wanted to and this seemed to change whether I was on the ground or in the air. Either way, it was a fun concept and the animations were great.

Beehaven by yupasama 2017-12-09T02:00:51Z

Great job fellow bee gamer! I like the artwork!

Beer Pong Arcade by banan 2017-12-06T03:23:25Z

I like the theme of this game and when I saw it I just had to play. I spent a fair amount of time shooting and missing by a lot (just like real life games, I suppose). If your intention was to match a realistic game feel then the attention to physics details would be key (ball bounce, arc, reaction to hitting liquid in the cup, etc). Good job for a Compo though, you managed to include good gameplay, UI, theme, music and graphics which is no small feat!

Health Choice by DarkAnice 2017-12-08T03:44:19Z

Good start but it could use a bit more gameplay or feature content (or maybe just a larger level). Initially I was confused at the first screen where you type in a number. I tried to accept the default of "100" but that doesn't work as expected - you have to actually type something.

AntiBucket by wsKilljoy 2017-12-10T21:38:14Z

69 seconds! antibucket_highscore.png Fun but tough little game. The high-speed bricks are really hard to dodge. Great entry!

Theme - The Game by Cubeeo 2017-12-08T03:36:22Z

I am not sure what was happening but I agreed with most of it.

CoinCase (Ludum Dare 40) by Billeclipse 2017-12-08T03:00:58Z

Great job for a first entry. Decent textures and you included music too. I'm not sure why a boulder would need to collect coins, but it was fun to roll around and listen to the tunes. This could almost be a zen-garden game!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Hamlin's Quarrel by BruReale 2018-12-05T23:11:00Z

I don't understand how to play? Are you supposed to push the animals into the sacrifice area? Is it possible to complete the game with just one player or do you need all 4?

Sacrifice LUL by jdelaay025johnd1788 2018-12-05T23:30:47Z

I enjoyed being a ruthless god and only sacrificing the plebs! Well done!

The Legend of Jam by Naboki 2018-12-05T23:38:22Z

Seemed like a 'drunk' version of left for dead! Took a bit to get used to four screens at once but I like the innovation there. I had trouble telling when I was actually dealing damage and when I was receiving it. Graphics were pretty decent for the time you had, I like the deer logo the best!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Blood Chest by PeachTreeOath 2019-05-03T15:19:06Z

Oh wow, I go AFK for one week and you guys make a game without me!! Freakin' hilarious idea. Art and music are spot on (as well as the thumping sound effects). There were a few hitbox glitches though where enemies seemingly went off in to space never to be seen again. A bit more AI in the code and I could see this as a AAA release.
