Looks like fun! Any chance of a Mac or web build?
I tried several times to make a web build but had some issues with Unity. I'll see if I can get one published soon! *Edit: macOS build link added!
Awesome idea. I've never seen a runner game where the player has to control multiple characters.
I would suggest making the left/right movement less acceleration based and more responsive, as it is already difficult controlling multiple entities at the same time. Very cool!
Agreed, this is actually really unique. 3d Runners are a pretty tired genre so it's good to see something new. I didn't realize the flowers were actually rocks until the 2nd run, but other than that the game makes sense to me. You uh, definitely have the theme right lol
Made it to the hive, but it took a couple turns. Sort of wish left/right speed was a bit faster, but it was still controllable enough to beat it. Nice job
Nice work exploring a new idea. I played a bunch of runs, my best score was 40.
I started to notice, wow, I haven't got any friend bees in a while. I think the game doesn't respawn all the stuff when I hit space to retry or G. I had to quit and restart the game after I had sucked the map dry of all flowers.
I couldn't quite get the multi-bee thing to its full potential. I experimented a little with toggling on and off the bees but it was tough with everything happening so fast and me getting confused. I wasn't successful. So I resorted to a simpler strategy of just controlling the whole swarm and giving up on some bees but trying to snap up more pickups this way. That was pretty fun. I would have definitely gotten into the zone with it more if the horizontal controls of the bees felt more snappy. It was kind of a huge effort to cross the map.
I wonder if you can experiment with a different control scheme to capture the flavor of your multi-bee idea. I feel the toggle is simply a bit too slow and clunky for the speed of the game. Experiment! It's an idea worth looking at from a few angles to see if you hit on something really fun.
If it was me, my first experiment would be to 10x the horizontal speed and make it so WASD controls the Queen and the arrow keys affect all other swarm members. And then I'd make the queen more visually distinctive so it's ULTRAclear. Then you could be juggling multi controls without toggle, and still have swarm? I dunno, just riffing on it because I feel like you had a cool idea but I didn't get to really experience it at full potential.
Nice entry.
Awesome feedback, thanks! Control balancing was a very difficult part of this game. The current config was about as good as I could get it in the available time. There is definitely plenty of room for improvement!
I managed to hit a top score of 44, blasting through at full speed and only picking up 3 new bees right at the end~~
this is a good fun game, Nice work dude
Mac build looks broken to me. Just a bunch of read boxes.
Should have definitely named it Rush Bee :) An interesting idea. The game would definitely benefit from the control adjustments, still.
@thebox193 Thanks for the feedback. I can't verify a working mac build. I used a target of OSX 32 in the unity cloud build. Do you need a different platform build, perhaps OSX 64 or OSX "universal"?
Interesting idea. I managed to get to the hive making sure I was just one bee. I have no idea how I would be supposed to navigate the more than one. Keeping the pace slow and health up was a bit too much too so I opted for health and letting the final obstacles hurt me. So I think the idea is neat, but for me it would be challenge enough if the more bees just kept following whomever was the furthest towards the hive.
Interesting idea!
It is pretty easy to reach the end with the Queen only, but when there's more than one bee, it's pure CHAOS! It is pretty funny. It is a bit hard to control though, due to the camera that tries to follow the leading bee. But I like the idea, too bad there's no sound!
Overall, a nice little game. Congrats!
Yep, mac build is broken I think. This is what I see:

Yep, that's what I see on a mac as well.
