a really fun game, with a classic but effective gameplay.
I like the "lose in strength with time" aspect of the game.

The window is a bit too small a x2 resolution could be good. Edit : my bad, it's possible to have a x2 resolution in the option panel ;) Good point !

I scored 682, my level was at 0 and the enemies don't want to die >.<
Good job though it's a really nice game, the retro graphics are cool and the music fits really well with the game ^^
I had a lot of fun with this one. I would have liked Greed Mode to have functioned a little differently, making it harder to not pick up gold but still possible rather than automatically sending the player towards gold. It was already getting difficult not to pick up the gold bags before my first Greed Mode triggered, and if I still had a chance not to collect the bags, it would have felt like more of my fault as the player for inevitably hitting a few of them. Overall though I really enjoyed this game and will probably come back to it later. Nice work!
Really fun to play. I loved the tiny little things implemented such as the the triple gun and shoot sounds etc. Nicely done.

@grentacular Thanks! For Greed Mode, you mean something like making the bags bigger? I also thought about making the character moving towards bags without loosing all your control (let's say it would go like 1 pixel towards the bag but you could still drag him in the direction of your choice), but I ended up with the current gameplay.

I enjoyed this game, with the different music pieces and basic gameplay with the greed-twist. I also like the addition of the different enemytypes and that the player attack became worse and worse, instead of the common way of making the player stronger and stronger.
@linky439, Yeah, something like the bags getting bigger or maybe giving them a slight "magnetic" attraction to the player or something. Not that Greed Mode as-is ruined the game or anything! I just prefer things where you theoretically can avoid negative consequences with enough skill (even if you can't in practice).

I really enjoyed this game, the music was nice and satisfying as well as the gameplay. The greed feature was interesting and fit the theme. It's different in the way of how the difficulty came more from you getting weaker than the enemies getting stronger.
Great sound and character design! And there is even a game menu with options! I also liked how the controls work. Thumbs up for this game!
Really nice game ! The graphics are perfectly polished and fun to play, and the gameplay is original and interesting. However I would have loved that we could be able to slow down more the greed, as even if we are getting money as soon as it spawn, we only gain few seconds (But it's fine, as a big part of the gameplay is dealing with the greed mod) Good job anyway, nice entry !
At first game was too easy but with time I change my changed my mind. Good luck
Music and sfx are nice, the game is well polished, if i could have a way to return my power back should be better, so far i'd only lose my power during the progress and it's quite frustrating.
Fun little game. My character seemed to bug out a bit during greed mode. He'd run down into the wall and glitch out while taking a bunch of monster damage.
Great job, a lot of content here for a compo. This felt almost like I was playing The Legend of Zelda. The music and sound effects really set the mood for the gameplay. I see lots of attention to detail; it's the little supporting details that really make a game shine! What engine, if any, did you use to make this?

I didn't use any particular engine, I programmed the game with Game Maker 7.0, but other than that, I made it from scratch ;)
That was fun. The game is looks and sound great. I'm surprised you made all that art and music from scratch in the allotted time and still managed to make a polished game. The game is too easy for a while at the start and only becomes hard after several minutes. You spend the first several hanging out in the corner not moving much.
Not sure if this is a glitch, but at the end when I was ready to give up I just ran around and grabbed all the gold. Then, when greed mode activated, there was no gold so my guy just rammed into monsters automatically till he died.

Complete games always get bonus points in my book, and this is really heckin complete of a game. You even have separate music for greed mode!!
Really well tuned gameplay, and the removal of powers through greed not only did well by the theme, but added a great difficulty curve. Super fun, great job!
Cool concept, nice use of the theme ;) the weapon reduction was a good idea, along with the "greed mode"; my best strategy was to avoid money so the greed mode was quickly ended :p it's really (too much ?) easy at the begining but I can't beat wave 11 / level 0 (after several tries). Musics are good, and overall the game is well polished ; Good job ! Cheers !
Interesting concept, liked how as you progressed the greed would take over was a nice unique concept. The change in weapon as the waves kept coming was also well done, liked that it changed the gameplay.
Quite the fun game. The power-down mechanic was cool but the Greed Mode was kind of annoying just taking some health or spawning more monsters or whatever would have been more effective. Also try to use a different scaling algorithm (nearest neighbor being the first one that comes to mind) to make the pixel art look more 'crisp' when zoomed in, because it was a shame seeing this art not receive the proper treatment. Good job.
