honestly, really solid game, found myself replaying a few times. Music is good, and art is great. overall fantastic game !

awanami 2025-10-06 22:04

Looks so cool. Good job!

captaincorgistan 2025-10-06 23:44

Love the idea, love concept, and all about game! You should consider full release!

greenpig 2025-10-06 23:47

The game looks incredibly, it's crazy what a few people can do in such a short amount of time. The elements are very responsive and the game play looks clean, reminds me of Heartstone. Very good job!

re-markable 2025-10-07 00:03

I am in love with this art style! You guys did such an amazing job capturing that medieval strategy game vibe and its insanely well polished!! Steam release when..? :eyes:

salmy-gondy 2025-10-07 00:28

Fantastic game. I won !!

braeden 2025-10-07 01:12

This game was super cool and unique! I really like the art style and the music

artur-hawkwing 2025-10-07 04:04

Very well made game -- I loved the music, and the gameplay was very fun! I think I would have enjoyed the player and enemies having lower health -- by the end, it felt like I would win by default because the enemy was not doing enough damage to me to defeat me in the time allotted. That said, it still felt very fun to play -- and the tactics of it were very well designed.

Aside -- I ran into a null pointer exception after 9 rounds (right before I would have been crowned king of the world!), in case you want to take a peek at that.

ranejeb 2025-10-07 06:46

Thank you guys everyone for kind feedback! We are super happy you are having fun with this prototype!

@artur-hawkwing Speaking of balance considerations, we're also willing to make a few tweaks here and there, along with fixing the annoying bug in the end we were never able to reproduce in the editor. We're not sure though how would that work with LD rules, as we're only making a web build. I'll take a look if we can have two Jam versions on the same page for more transparency (once I'm a bit recovered after such a crazy weekend !), so if you're interested please stay tuned for more updates!

d3kryption 2025-10-07 07:16

This is a really really well made game. It feels so polished. The music cannn get a tiny bit repetitive after so man y rounds haha but thats nit picking at best!

It was a lot of fun. Reminds me a little of a mixture of gwent. I enjoyed it a lot. I sent it to a few other people :D nice job!

optimatica 2025-10-07 09:53

Amazing game! Has some really nice combos, but there should be a speed-up button.

sharky3188 2025-10-07 10:42

Really solid game entry! I found myself feeling quiet invested in each battle outcome, i was quiet surprised at how well it played. I love all the ways the strategies can play out. I do wish that you could reset a round, instead of starting over. The general visuals and audio feel really good. Really great entry.

flinge 2025-10-07 11:46

At first, I was thinking this game would have a different kind of gameplay, but it turned out to be really cool! For me, it has the vibe of Backpack Battles. A really interesting concept kind of a board game. Great job!

rogaven 2025-10-07 12:18

A game I'd like to see on Steam!

rionisse 2025-10-07 13:13

I really enjoyed playing this game. It has potential for a full release! I don’t really see how it fits the theme, but it’s fun and unique — so I guess that’s all that matters in the end. Also, it’s nice to see a jam game that’s so clearly explained and intuitive.

momo-hunter 2025-10-07 13:49

Fantastic game with a great game loop and impressive visuals. I really enjoyed it, well done!

aleksey-salion 2025-10-07 14:05

Neat!

justuspan 2025-10-07 14:42

Towers are the key to combat, and once you grasp this trick, the battle goes very smoothly. However, my game crashed when I reached the last crown, and I'm not sure why. It's a very fun game, and the setting and background are also very cool. Snipaste_2025-10-07_21-50-59.png Snipaste_2025-10-07_21-53-25.png

ranejeb 2025-10-07 14:48

@justuspan hey thank you for playing! Sorry for the bug, for some reason game does not want to show people our "Thank you" scene, so I will say thank you here! You can check the screen itself if you scroll down the itch.io page

olddog 2025-10-07 15:40

The creativity behind this game is absolutely brilliant — it’s truly amazing! I really love the feeling it gives while playing, and the level of strategy is impressive. It’s a bit short and lacks content for now, but it has incredible potential. I really hope to see a full version in the future.

nekobones 2025-10-07 16:33

Very polished, the loop and the gameplay are fluent, the tutorial is super clear, perfect game! Have recommended this to my friends. Would love to play it even if it was not a jam game. Plus, it will be better if i can speed up or just skip the resolution.

cocoming 2025-10-07 16:34

This is the game with the highest completion rate I have played on LD58

crygos 2025-10-07 21:24

This is the game where I stayed the longest (so far). It is super polished. One suggestion: a setting to allow users to speed up the fights would be good. Otherwise this sequence can become a little long over time. Great game.

lehmy 2025-10-08 00:39

Nice game I can only second the other comments on the speed up option. The art and music are very fitting and I like the small tutorial at the beginning, but would have liked a skip option, so that you don't have to replay it on page reload. Also I would have found more interaction between each decree (building) on the map interesting, like the tower and the blacksmith.

jordan-neff 2025-10-08 03:07

Wow this game is super cool, congrats! I love the little character talking sounds, and the tutorial and on-boarding was really well done - something I rarely see in a jam game. The card/tile design reminded me a lot of the board game "Cartographers", not sure if that was an inspiration or a coincidence but I liked it. I must say the UI is very smooth and polished. I could see this turning into a full release title, lots of room for additional units and even more high-level strategy. Very cool!

ranejeb 2025-10-08 08:15

@lehmy thank you! If you complete the tutorial once, it should not be forced again, unless browser cache is cleared or something. Sorry if you encountered a bug.

As for more interactions — that's to come! Stay tuned!

ranejeb 2025-10-08 08:15

@jordan-neff thank you! I AM A BIG FAN OF CARTOGRAPHERS. But the funny thing is our artist has no idea what that is :D Glad she conveyed the similar vibe just from my words

porcupine-sashimi 2025-10-08 10:36

This is a very fun game, and has nice polish as well. I really appreciated the tutorials, and the audiovisual style matches the gameplay very well. The gameplay is fun and addictive, but lacks explosive synergies and sometimes incentivizes some un-fun strategies (for my second run i found out i should just do all-mines to build money first for the first 5-6 battles). Also an isolated wizard on column 2 is too OP, and spikes are just incredibly powerful compared to unit increase (which makes the unit increase upgrade obsolete imo... spikes shd perhaps be -1?). Overall, I think the game would benefit from having some long-term game plan incentives (wizard-build, economy build, stable-build etc.) and some tweak in game design to accommodate different strategies instead of making every round feel different.

schatzi 2025-10-08 12:04

Amazing 2D art and sound effects. Very addicting gameplay. Probably my favorite ludum dare game so far.

hjalte 2025-10-08 12:18

Great game!

It's super polished and I like how the art makes you feel like a king making big picture strategies.

The tutorial was pretty good, but I had no idea, how the scoring would work. I thought maybe enemies would come in from the right. I also didn't understand what units did until a couple rounds in. I figured everything out eventually, but I think it'd be neat to be able to hover the units/damage/speed/armor to see exactly what they do. Once I did get it, the game worked really well and I felt like I could strategize!

Oh and it'd be nice to be able to speed up the scoring.

Great concept, hope you keep working on it, because there's something there!

melomaner 2025-10-08 13:32

This game reminded me of the board game Cartographers! It looks and plays really well, though the talking old man got a bit annoying at first :) I’d really love to see how the game develops in the future — adding it to my favorites!

aviv-levy 2025-10-08 13:55

An extremely polished experience and great attention to details, super impressive, congrats! It took a moment to figure out how to play. I ended up not finishing the game because I felt like during the construction stage I was often preparing to fight an enemy I know nothing about - so it felt like "thoughtful gambling" in a sense. I just spammed wizard towers and obliterated everything.

diralf 2025-10-08 14:18

Very beautiful and captivating, the content is delivered gradually and clearly. It reminded me a bit of the board game "Cartographers". Good game! (your and board one )

ranejeb 2025-10-08 14:24

@melomaner @diralf being able to please Cartographers' fans is the best compliment for me  It's one of my favorite board games. Thank you! Look forward to more updates!

yuriscat 2025-10-08 14:31

The level of completion is impressive! It's amazing how much you've managed to create in such a short time. The consultant's chattering voice is so amusing (he doesn't sound as old as he looks, haha). I noticed you've used a very rich variety of effects and sound effects, and every resource settlement comes with satisfying visual and audio effects. The tower settlement reminded me of the game Artifact. I really love your game! If I have more time, I will definitely continue playing it. I think it has a lot of potential and depth!!

yatsu 2025-10-08 15:35

Очень приятная и интересная игра, но как по мне в игре не хватает сложности на начальных этапах

juanrod707 2025-10-08 22:41

Very solid game! I'm impressed at how intuitive your mechanics are. You rarely find a strategy game that is easy to understand. Amazing job!

gonutz 2025-10-09 05:20

Awesome game and I still have to beat it! :-D

Played it on stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/schmonutz

jorbits 2025-10-09 11:28

Well made strategy game.

mrpaket 2025-10-09 17:16

It's a very pleasant city center. The first time I saw a unit coming out of my cabin, I was very surprised. The game is generally filled with details that are pleasant to watch, and it is highly polished! I wish there were more hints to the characteristics (as well as on the buildings), because during the game I forgot what speed was for and wanted to focus on it and find out) But these are small things, there probably aren't many players like me. Good job done!

lereveur 2025-10-09 17:55

Didn't made to the end (I lost when I became too greedy on gold ) but I really enjoyed playing this one! I like this innovative way to play a strategy base turned game, and the arts are very fine for a LD. Good job, well done!

ranejeb 2025-10-09 18:13

@mrpaket ты абсолютно прав насчёт подсказок к характеристикам. Это та вещь которую очень нужно было сделать, но не успели. В планах обязательно добавить в пост-джем версии, вместе с более разнообразным контентом. Рад, что вам понравились детали!

mr-mesmer 2025-10-09 20:19

Скинул вод в дискорде. После 3-его уровня хотелось дропнуть, но переиграл и победил примерно одной стратой. Хз, как дорабатывать игру, если честно, но, по крайней мере, механика интересная

cataclysmicknight 2025-10-09 21:39

Oh hey, a tabletop game! This is really clever and unique, I love it! I'd love to see a physical version of this too, to play against another human player 🙌

jasminej2003 2025-10-10 02:13

The graphic is nice, the music is perfect. The way you've coupled the mechanic creates a puzzle dynamic I've never seen before. It feels like a natural evolution of concepts from Braid.Your approach to visual storytelling here is masterful. If you have a moment, I'd be genuinely interested to hear your thoughts on my own project, ICE BOMB RUNNER.

eggnisi 2025-10-10 02:46

很难想象是72h做完的。完美的动效,极其创新的玩法,令人震惊的内容填充度。像是马上就可以拿到steam上发售的水平。

yibirabbit007 2025-10-10 03:14

So perfect, this is a rare piece of art for Jam! Whether it's the direction, visuals, or audio!

dumchevdev 2025-10-10 11:47

Well done! I really like the visual style and music.

dagon 2025-10-10 12:27

This game is amazing! Great job on game design

willoxs 2025-10-10 21:06

This was really new. The "combat" system is really cool and it's impressive how well it works within just the time of a jam. I think the combat would work even better as a kinda rougelike deckbuilder, because right now there it's really hard to reliably use any synergies because the options are so random, and you have no idea what the opponent does so you need to be a bit lucky sometimes.

I found it to be a good strategy to farm gold in the easy early fights and later on go to scale people and strength quickly. I think there are slight balance issues in the jam version, but you seem to have adressed balance already in the post jam patch. Also good job on the sound effects.

coderaurus 2025-10-11 08:28

Love it, such a polished piece of art! I like how the scroll opens up. I think the balance is there, even when I got destroyed at ninth crown by tower spam (which I didn't get that much). Appreciate the interactive tutorial at the start.

Great work!

amunonra 2025-10-11 11:51

One of my most favorite games this jam, even in the 1.0 version. I like the different combinations you can plan your turn with and almost every combo feels viable and rewarding. I don't know whether it was due to clever balancing or just your luck that even though armor didn't work for the enemy sometimes the game was still pretty hard to beat, though. Of course I will asume it was the first case ;)

The polishes and bug fixes you implemented since then make the game even rounder and more enjoyable than in its innitial state.

Great job!

unitedfailures 2025-10-11 19:20

This game is so impressive, it's like a fully fleshed out strategy game made for a game jam. The game is simple, but has so much depth from the timeline mechanic. Like I don't want to win too early before I mine my gold, strategizing about where to put your spikes or walls to turbo wreck the enemy. Great work, y'all!

daveco 2025-10-11 19:22

I really enjoyed this one! It was both intuitive and in-depth.

outstar 2025-10-11 19:44

Easily one of my favorite games this jam gameplay-wise! I managed to get to around level 7 I believe, with 100 hp enemy equipped with four wizard towers, and I failed miserably :D My only two pieces of feedback: - Attack icon is a red sword which can be easily mistaken for a red arrow pointing down in small UI - for a while, I thought horse adds speed but subtracts attack! - More visible grid lines on the scroll would be awesome

That's literally it - you could easily add some more buildings and themed "years" and release it on Steam :)

ranejeb 2025-10-11 19:47

@outstar thank you for the feedback! themed years is such an amazing idea! I'll write that down

sibi 2025-10-11 20:46

This game is so addicting! Really brilliant and unique puzzle game. Would only love an option to make the animations faster.

ranejeb 2025-10-11 20:59

@sibi heya thanks for playing! Please checkout the web version for faster animations! There is a speed-up button on the top-right

gonutz 2025-10-11 21:18

Man, I finally beat this game! It took me so long to get there, maxing out the health was a key part I think. Thanks for this awesome game!

sibi 2025-10-11 21:28

@ranejeb Oh that's brilliant! I'll jump right back in :)

adamwigs 2025-10-12 06:05

Had a lot of fun and would've played a few more times if I didn't want to give other games a chance too! Really liked the mechanics and would love to see a full release at some point!

placeholders 2025-10-12 06:23

finished it! i was hooked until the end. amazing job its feels like a really complete game. congrats!

b0guslaw 2025-10-12 14:10

Well, you have a crazy good project on your hands here, that is extremely well polished with lots and lots of cool ideas, visuals, music and overall cohesive art, so let me just say the one thing that I didn't like: I wish I could speed up the rounds manually.

That's it, everything else was truly perfect for a 72 hour project

dominosxpizza 2025-10-12 14:15

Great polished game, simple gameplay but it creates interesting choices. I could definitely play a more polished version of it.

ranejeb 2025-10-12 14:28

@b0guslaw thanks for the feedback! You can try post-jam version in the browser - it has speed up button

ditam 2025-10-12 15:28

This is one of the most complete games I've played this jam, congrats! (I've only played the web build, but looking at your changelog, this must have been pretty complete at the initial submission too.)

I did not manage to beat it yet, but I've given it 6-7 goes already, I've enjoyed it so much. The speed changer in the top right was very welcome, and I didn't notice any instability, having played mostly at 3x and 4x speeds.

I did notice some balancing issues: as it is, the game seems to be way too reliant on the unit count metric. If you get unlucky to get no houses in your draft, you will deal 0 damage. If you get lucky enough to get spikes, your opponent will deal 0. This makes houses and spikes way too imba. This is mitigated to some extent by the reroll option (which I've only noticed on my 2nd try), but still - any other items are almost always inferior to these two. Maybe this could be fixed by having some non-0 starting values, to decrease their relative effect? The way the money mechanic is incorporated is very interesting - a waste of space in battles, but necessary for long term survival. Great addition.

UX-wise, I think it was unnecessary to split rotation and flipping into different controls, almost the exact same effect could be achieved by just rotating - which could then be _either_ right clicking or scrolling. Selling decrees also seems needlessly complicated, which slows down the entire game: just have a "sell remaining decrees for 5/10/etc gold" option somewhere, so that you don't need to confirm your placement manually for every piece.

One more idea for improvement is to have an indicator of how much HP (maybe also decree count - but that might make it too easy) your next opponent will have, so you can start planning ahead whether it is worth selling your decrees.

All in all, excellent, kudos to the whole team. I think with some fine tuning of values (which surely needs plenty of playtesting), this could be released as a proper game. Visually it's already great, and the game loop is very satisfying.

stefan-b 2025-10-12 16:58

Nice mix of stragey and tetris. First i wanted to suggest adding a speedup, but then found it on the top right. Very nice and polished!

jordanfb 2025-10-12 18:25

Lots of fun! I beat it after a couple tries, honestly the only jarring issue was that I could never figure out how many decrees I had left to place. Controls and music and vibes were great. I think I was confused about the dwelling houses (name on the card) vs the barracks (named in the field card). Also hit the classic deckbuilding issue of too many types of buildings so you don't get the buildings you need, but every once in a while a reroll did save me. A good time I look forward to more! I played the latest version since I'm not able to rate anyways :)

rosday 2025-10-12 19:02

Really cool premise, game was super understandable too, the tutorial was solid! On one of the rounds, I didn't get any houses as my option, not sure if I'm misunderstanding something, but currently the balance feels a bit RNG heavy. Even so, had fun checking it out! As all the commenters above have mentioned, it's an amazingly polished game

wdebowicz 2025-10-12 21:01

I finished the game with a lot of satisfaction. I could easly imagine this being a proper physical board game to play with friends. Great work!

sergs-workshop 2025-10-13 09:07

Extremely polished game! Great visuals, sound design, and core mechanics. The only downside is the slow pace — after a while animations start to tire, and it’d be nice to have the option to skip/speed up them. Fantastic submission!

ranejeb 2025-10-13 09:23

@sergs-workshop thank you! You can try post-jam version in the browser - it has the speed up button

captandrey 2025-10-13 19:02

I liked buildings and animations. But i didn't understand how many thing i can build.

ranejeb 2025-10-13 19:39

@captandrey sorry we didn't manage to include that information! You can give 5 orders per draft phase

cameronpenner 2025-10-14 04:05

Please keep developing this game. No joke, the design is brilliant, and the execution is already really impressive. What a fresh take on autobattlers, tile placement, and kingdom warfare. I just wish I could have seen an ending, I really like where this is going!

I just imagine players' kingdoms sent to a server to be played in async multiplayer like super auto pets. So much potential!

I really love the aesthetic of the hands revealing the scroll one move at a time. It's so cool! Wow, I'm blown away.

kallico 2025-10-14 11:59

Really awesome idea to represent "action economy" as tetris puzzle pieces

ranejeb 2025-10-14 12:17

@cameronpenner thank you for kind words! We want to keep working on this game, so if you would like to receive updates, make sure to join our discord! https://discord.gg/Dn9cvBYjbz

Wow, really a masterpiece here! Make such a great game for a minimum time - it's awesome! Good job ^_^

nija463 2025-10-15 13:15

Wow, such a nice game! I spent about an hour replaying it. I really appreciate how polished it is; from the art to the sound design, and the little stretch & squash while the guy in the tutorial is speaking. Zero bugs, very relaxing. I’d love to play a longer version of it. I really hope you guys make more of this kind of game! Great job; you’re all really talented.

ellaris 2025-10-16 10:42

Really cool game, I loved the tactical and strategical aspect of it, the medieval theme and its presentation. One thing I'd like is to be able to see how many decrees I have left, after buying max decree it gets complicated to remember, and I think I started with 5 while the tutorial said I will have 3?

ranejeb 2025-10-16 12:21

@ellaris for tutorial it's 3 because we wanted to quickly throw you into the action, but yeah unfortunately we didn't manage to make a nice indicator of decrees left. That's something we absolutely want to add in the future. Thanks for playing!

taximan981 2025-10-17 03:00

Wow wow wow! Recommended by a friend and this game did not disappoint, great work!!!

2025-10-20 16:29

I really dislike having a post Jam version as the easy accessible browser version while you have to go through the efforts of Downloading for the Jam Version. You know many people won't do the extra steps of downloading a windows build. Imho this leaves a very bad taste and is borderline dishonestly gaining the system. Please have a separate LD Browser Build or update your post Jam after!

coleslaughter 2025-10-20 18:57

[Thanks for submitting your game to stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2589159756?t=01h57m00s)

My favorite of the jam so far. Very novel concept with some REALLY solid UI/UX (it's usually pretty easy to skimp out on those during a weekend jam). Well done!

yellowkamel 2025-10-22 19:51

It was honestly super cool and has huge potential, something like stronghold crusader voice lines would 5x the humor.

usumidori 2025-10-23 02:55

I'm really into games with this style! You did a great job making it so well - rounded. I just couldn't stop playing once I started.
