So it turns out that I am staggeringly bad at geometry - I do not understand how to set up a bunch of circles such that I can draw a triangle between them haha. But this is a really cool game idea, nice work setting it up.

I'm drawing castles out of chalk and this game is a storm washing them away. I look out the window and its dark now.

This game is super cool; However, it also reminds me that I dropped out of middle school xD
Oh. My. Llama! How did you guys pull off this effect? It's mind-blowingly awesome! Did you seriously nail this within 72 hours??? If so, you all must have been mainlining coffee and punching the creative clock like there's no tomorrow!
fraction.png @drgcandle a fragile mix of respect and disrespect for mathematics. To be fair, the more extreme approximations were only used while debugging to check whether I was going insane.

Wow... so much math, I thought I had a decent understanding of geometry but I couldn't create a proper circle after spamming a bunch of line and circle. Great job, respect!
I LOVE the gameplay and especially the fact that you have a fully working menu, even with sandbox mode! Could stay for hours in that sandbox trying to find any fancy way to make a lot of forms *-* Like i said, i also really like the gameplay, having to doge enemies while trying to draw good shapes to fight them is certainly hard, but its such an innovative idea of gameplay, well done all of you, great entry!

Really cool game! I just wish I was better at it to explore all the upgrades. The music was nice and the graphic style is pretty cool.

LOVE the game concept! It feels so fun connecting dots trying to form perfect triangle, knowing that my brain capacity is limiting me from doing it))

I really dig the concept but it's funny how quick I was overwhelmed with trying to figure out shapes while avoiding enemies. Also have a soft spot for LÖVE games!
Please publish a web build!
@cheesepencil Wish granted!
(please don't try to play it directly in the embed the sound's broken and the loadtime is awful)

@cheesepencil wish ungranted the game runs like ass in a browser sorry
Technically, it seemed to run fine performance wise. But on some browsers the sound didn't play, on others the mouse wasn't captured, and no solution allowed the game to be played in anything larger than a tiny window. So it just sucked.
Wow the concept is absolutely amazing! It is rare to see a math puzzle game here.
I didn't really get the machanics how the sigils and lines fade away. They just got easily destroyed by the overwhelming element enemies. But I managed to get a score above 100.

I drew a tutorial of generating 90 degree angles **for other players**. If you are struggling about geometry, you can take a look!

By the way, there is SOMETHING...

Float point error! Euclid's disaster! XD
It doestn't matter that much though, since the problem itself is not numerically stable.
After all 10 out of 10 innovative. Excellent work!
needs polish, needs spare player's accuracy! (with multiple points overlapping or seemingly right triangles doesn't work) once you get the hang of it the game is pretty repetitive, but the process of getting hang of it is so much fun, that this game is simply one of my favorites in this ludum dare! thank you all so much for such experience

Very cool idea! Unfortunately I got a bit frustrated for not managing to summong any triangles, to only later realize you can only summon equilateral triangles (right?). Making that clear in the tutorial would have been nice :)
Congrats on the submission!

It's been quite a long time since I last had to draw equilateral triangles, so I struggled a little, same with the square one. But somehow I managed to dig up the knowledge buried deep in my brain, and managed to draw the triangles, squares, and hexagons without needing to look up anything.
Amazing concept for a game, and thank you for bringing me back some forgotten knowledge! Great job!
Thanks for all the great feedback. I found a way to reproduce a triangle that fails to be detected as a sigil, and fixed it. I've made that the recommended jam release, 1_05_Bugfix, because it a small and pretty unambiguous bug. We have also made a post jam version that fixes a few effects and adds animations that did not make it in. Mostly for practise and our own amusement.

I am actually proud of surviving up to 200 while struggling with same as the most, which is not really knowing geometry that much (well I mean we all used to know this stuff at some point but then it faded from memory due to not capturing elementals). I thought I couldn't draw even triangle for my life, but then it's the squares that turned out impossible. First half of the game was me running between two squares that were kindly provided by the game and a corner of the map where I accidentally figured out the triangle procedure. Then the rest was spent constantly revining one big triangle, in what can only be described as geometrical camping. Ultimately, it was me who got captured in a rapture, caught between line drawing OCD and mind altering music. I signaled to a couple of huge blocks of ice and a bunch of lightnings to halt while I try something new, forgetting that these creatures have no faculty for reason, thereby perishing out of my own folly.
So anyway, this game commits that cardinal sin of making the player feel stupid and uneducated, but still deserves high marks due to originality, effort involved, and actually making me play for quite a while.

Geometry is magic, and you too can cast spells by making platonic solids with a ruler and compass – I love this idea!
I’ve had a great time tilting triangles, squares, and hexes. My top score so far is 380, and I haven’t been able to get an octagon to register yet (and not for a lack of trying). I’ll definitely be back to check out the post jam version, and would love to see a more polished and fleshed out version.
From a technical side, I’m impressed that you managed to get this working as tracking all these circles/lines/intersection points looks like a very cursed problem (detecting intersection points, detecting shapes, floating point rounding errors, etc.). I’ve definitely gotten into situations where I’m constructing triangles and squares, but they don’t register as shapes. I wonder if this is a detection bug, or if the game simply does not allow you to re-make the same shapes after they’re used up.
In terms of game design, I like what you’ve done, and could see how this could be extended with attaching more mechanics (walls/turrets/traps) to shapes/symmetries. However, I feel that the game is a little too cognitively taxing to keep up with running away while drawing and attempting to make new shapes.
I like the music and how it captures the clashing element idea, it reminds me of the Rite of Spring. However I did end up turning it off after my first few runs as I found the game to be a little less stressful without it.

Incredible and very deep work. Great job!
Really polished and fun, incredible use of the theme and execution!
