I'm not able to run this game in the browser, while I've been able to run other games from the compo.
The difference is that the other ones were uploaded to itch.io. I'd recommend you do that. It looks fantastic!

Hi, thanks for the advice, I have now uploaded it to itch.io, you can get it through this link : https://ilinx-games.itch.io/summoning-for-dummies !
Wasn't able to summon the Lord of the Pit. I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions (2 Gargoyle, 1 Specter, 1 Succubus).
Fun little incremental game! The first few summons are very linear, it really only gets interesting once you reach the Succubus. Could be fixed by giving some variety to the first summons. Poking seemed to have little use but it's fun to see them hurry up and it has some nice animation as feedback. The effects of poking shouldn't be permanent tho, I managed to get a Gargoyle permanently stuck on my screen by clicking it a bunch.
The secrets are a very fun bonus feature! And I really like the graphics!
Thanks for the web upload. A very cool game! I really like the graphics, the silhouettes are a good idea for this. I'm slightly lacking the game's friction: Am I missing a timer or can something go wrong? Really like the speech bubbles, too :D
Thanks for the feedback @jsmcag ! Yes there's a Typo, you need a Disciple of Baphomet Rune instead of a Succubus Rune for the Lord of the Pit ! My bad !
I tried twice to summon the Lord of the Pit, even took a screenshot to come ask about it before reading your comment :sob: !

Anyway, impressive graphics for a compo, good use of the foreground shadow play! The runes made me a bit nostalgique of the Diablo II era =D
It was a bit tedious restarting from 0 after a mistake, and I kinda wish that there was a mechanic to quickly re-summon a previously obtained monster. I feel like there's not much missing and the recipe exploration mechanic could be fun and satisfying! Keep up the good work ✨
A really interesting take on the theme, I loved discovering the different monsters, and the various quips the character writes! Also, an absolutely excellent name if I may say so, with my totally unbiased opinion https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/summoning-for-dummies-2 ;)
I stuck at the Lord of the Pits until reading through comments but it took me so long to get there TWICE nooooooooooooooooooooooooo but overall its fun lol nice entry!
Cute concept, great visuals. I ran into some small bugs when interacting with runes, where sometimes multiple runes could disappear together, and I ran into the Lord of the Pit issue as well, but overall I had a lot of fun poking at it!
Managed to finish my homework! I liked the plot twist at the end :)

Anyway, really nice game! I loved the premise, and all the different demons were very fun. The dialog was also cute, and I liked the poking mechanic. I did encounter a bug where summoning too many imps at once softlocked the game, but otherwise, great entry!
Very neat little game! Scratches the same itch that those classic "combine stuff" browser games used to. I wasn't sure if poking was supposed to be a mechanic or just a bit of world building, but clicking on the creatures didn't seem to do anything. The Lord of the Pit typo was very demotivating... or maybe, "demon-tivating"? Despite this, nice work all around. Oh, and the graphics and general "flow" are quite nice!
I enjoyed your game! I found a funny bug - at first, I tried to check out how many of the basic creature I could summon and I spammed space a lot, getting tons of the runes to spawn and go off the screen. Afterwards, I used the runes from the flask, but no new runes would appear, and instead sometimes I would see them falling from the top of the screen outside of the flask, without me being able to click on them fast enough to use them. I think I created some choke point off screen because of my spamming, and it prevented new runes from falling in :)
