This was awesome! The graphics and the overall polish of the game is top notch, congrats!

I enjoyed it a lot. The use of the theme, graphics and the polishing is very well done. Here's my game, if you'd like to have a look: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/evolve
Really liked the idea and the use of the theme, I would agree with the comment on the controls though, but anyways, Good work! Here's my game, if you would like to have a look: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/evolve
Some really creative work here, well done!
Good job for your first Unity game. As already mentioned earlier, I would like to have the difficulty curve increase with time. Also, it would be nice to provide some visual/audio feedback to the player once they pick up a gas canister. Good job overall.
Good effort, I liked the art, music and the atmosphere of the game, however, the controls felt a bit weird in few places. A great effort overall :)
Hillarious! Very well put together :)
Really well-made game. Loved the amount of polishness put into it :)
Nice little game, well done! :)
Hilarious and very polished game. The tutorial's font was a bit hard to read, for example, compared to the `Diggi 'N' Grave` store font. The voice acting added great depth to it, well done :)
Enjoyed the game! Few things that I came up with are the bug where the enemy / player can jump and stand on each others head. Also, once I attack the eneny while it's not defending and keep holding on to the attack button, the enemy keeps on taking the punch / kick without bringing up his guard, so the rest of the game ends up being about just holding on the button till the enemy dies / has taken enough damage.
Hey @jestemstefan , thanks for playing!
(**Spoiler**) So the idea behind the first spikes is to sacrifice your life by jumping on the spikes (and turning yourself into a zombie) and using the next member (which spawns when you die) to use the zombie as a platform by jumping on it's head and crossing the spiked platform.
@jam373 yeah, I was divided on the placement, went ahead with the *'killing a zombie first'* tutorial since that would introduce the zombie without putting them into a mechanic directly. Probably wasn't a good idea since gamers are well aware of what a zombie is and people would end up killing the zombie first. Thanks for playing, glad you liked the game and the zombie programmer-art :stuck_out_tongue:
Everything about the game was very well executed. Easily one of the best games I've played in this LD till now!
I liked how I had to make a deicsion on managing the health when coming across multiple routes having a common demon gate for all of them, it made the level quite interesting. Allowing the player to sneak on the other side of the demon gate from an apparent dead end on the other side via the torch is also a good mechanic, well done on the entry :)
Great entry! Really liked the spider-rabbit mechanics was well done, the art and the music did a great job in setting up the mood. Solid entry.
That was very fun! The sound effects really added to the mood :D
Great concept and art! The one downside for me was the repeatative footstep audio, good game overall!
Loved the art and the puzzle. As for improvements, there were few physics related issues I faced, like sticking to walls (physics material having friction maybe ?) and getting stuck in the upper tunnel making it difficult to get in. Also, it would be nice to have a feedback on when the captain dies, like shifting the camera's focus to the captain when he dies to know what killed him or something like that. Great entry overall.
The amount of polishness put into this game is great for a 72 hour jam game, the well timed blocking was very satisfying. One thing I would've liked is probably 'un-blocking' the player after getting attacked a certain number of times since the start of the last defense so as to avoid the player from just holding onto the block button for too long and forcing them to go for the attack. But a very solid entry overall.
Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, the graphics were very well done :) As for improvements, I would've liked a bit of feedback on what was happening in game (like knowing the start and end of waves, or maybe replace the wave mechanics with timer or something if we don't want to shift the attention of the player from the game to a UI), via audio / visual effects, but given the 72 hour time limit, that's expected.
Loved the old school platformer vibes! Wasn't sure I had to jump towards the end there, but had fun overall!
@paprigames Thanks for playing!
The puzzles did turn out to be a bit vague, so a bit of spoiler: The goal was to have the triangles point to the "correct" direction at every floor, based on some hints. The hints are mostly in the form of items in one of the rooms. (For the fourth floor, the directions are based on the picture on the room with a single chair).
@kanity thank you for such a detailed feedback, much appreciated!
I will be adding hints/solutions here and on the descriptions for the puzzles: - Floor 1 -> There is only one puzzle piece, point it to the lever - Floor 2 -> The hint is on the note, the solution is to point the puzzle piece to the darkest side of the room - Floor 3 -> The hint is on the pot _without_ any plant on the chair. There are total 3 puzzle pieces, and they need to be pointed at the plant. There is a puzzle piece in a room with no plants, but there are a couple of plants in the hallway - Floor 4 -> There are 2 puzzle pieces here and the hint is in the picture on the room with a single chair, and the picture is about two chairs pointing at each other. The solution is to make the puzzle pieces point at each other - Floor 5 -> There are 3 puzzle pieces and the hint is in the pot _with_ a plant in the chair. The solution is to point the pieces towards the pots with a plant. In one of the rooms where there are no plants in the room, there is one on the next room (the one on the hallway doesn't have any plant) - Floor 6 -> The hint is in the room with the chair which is pointing _away_ from the plant, and the solution is to have the two puzzle pieces point on the opposite direction from the plants.
Thanks again for playing and such a detailed feedback!
Very solid entry, specially given that it's a compo entry, good work :)
Fun game, ended up replaying a lot! There's something about the fruits getting mixed multiple times that made it very satisfying. Good entry!
Really good entry! One thing that confused me was the shovel in the room kept re-appearing everytime I picked up, left the room and came back in the room, not sure if this was a bug? Great game overall!
Very polished game! The drawing mechanic was very well implemented, I ended up choosing some shapes over the other overall due to the relative ease of drawing their shapes, but a very neat entry overall!
Fun entry! I think I got it done once by pressing the bell without having anything on the tray, but good job getting it all done in 12 hours!
Fun game! took me a while to understand the summoning mechanics, but was fun after that was taken care of!
Loved the concept of the game! I do agree with some of the above comments on the animation feeling a bit slow, but well made entry overall!
The visuals and overall mood was on point! I was stuck in the boathouse where after taking the item from their to the first house and interacting with the body, when I go back to the boathouse I was able to take the same item again, not sure if this was a bug?
Great entry overall!
Fun game! The UI was a bit hard to understand initially, but had fun once that barrier was crossed. Good entry!
Loved the balance between keeping myself protected from the stones and summoning/throwing items back, very well polished entry overall!
Challenging, but very well crafted entry!
Very well polished entry!
Really enjoyed the visuals and the overall polish that went into the game, there were times when I was getting a bit lost due to the hallways looking very similar on either ends, but a very good entry overall!
Liked the use of the theme! I would've liked some feedback on standing on the green zones, which was a bit confusing initially, but enjoyed it after reading it up!
Very good entry! The amount of overall polish behind this is very impressive
Unique entry, Liked the art style! One thing that was getting in my way was the drawing area appearing outside the game window, which I had to adjust mid-way of a fight. Great entry overall!
Very polished entry! It took a minute to get into the modifiers in the first try, but really enjoyed it after getting a hang of it.
Fun idea! Kindof agree that it got a bit easier once I got a hang of it, and got caught intentionally, but the art and sound looks good!
Super polished and well made entry!
