Doesn't loading(
It took more than 5 minutes to load and then crashed my web browser.
It's stuck at 95% loading for me too
Really loved the opening sequence and visuals!
crazy good art but it isnt loading :(
It took a minute to load but it eventually did. I like the idea of mixing 2d and 3d in the same environment. It gives it some stylistic flare. Exploring around trying to find the wall switches was fun but I wish there were a little more variety in the rooms to help with knowing where I've already been. Overall I think this was a good entry for the jam, congrats!
No issues loading here! Omg the atmosphere is so cool! I really love the narration and the art style, they really make the mood. Great job!
I couldn't get the game to load so I don't want to give a rating, but the art style looks really cool!
Couldnt' see the openign sequence, but really liked the art. Whised that the final monster did a bit more, or apeared in front instead of behind. But great game!
@nikitastarostin @dyingwolfwood @shasaur @shtjg @ballen, thank you all for trying and sorry that you couldn't play it, the final build size was a almost 90 MB, we've just cut down that size to 50 MB, I hope now loads.
Nice audio! The enemy design is rad, too
Did load after 5 or 10. I love the graphics, they have such a charm about them. And having voice acting in a jam game is super impresive. Nice!
Wow, the atmosphere in this game is AMAZING. Everyone did a great job pulling this together, the soundscape is unsettling, the graphics and lighting create a really oppressive mood. The gameplay is simple but the visuals and audio make for a really cool experience, great job!
Love the opening and the gameplay, but I think there's not enough time to open the last door,,, I'm missing something?
Good atmosphere and narration, but I couldn't find any items and then the game crashed.
loving this, visuals are great, atmosphere is fantastic, the control scheme is really novel
@keilyn3d Theres a small trick to open the last door!! Its part of the boss battle to avoid it, the boss teleports into to your position, after using the key on the door meanwhile the gate is opening, run away from the door and wait for the boss to appear, round around him and enter the final room to grab the HOLY cross!!! You will like the ending!!!
@james-greenleaf Mmm thats strange, its the first time it happens, we are running the game using Chrome and using the chrome setting of hardware acceleration, what browser are you using? Hint to find items: In the first big room, theres a button that opens a metalic gate.
Great spooky ambiance, and serious kudos for doing bilingual VO and menus in a 72-hour game! I wasn't able to finish this one, but I still had fun attempting it.
Wow... I loved the art style in this one. Great atmosphere I felt really immersed in the game. Consider continuing to work on this project I think it has potential! Great Job!
Great atmosphere and good level design. Pretty simple gameplay but it works so well with the visual style and narrative.
I really like this art style, especially the enemies, they look so cool! As many have said: great atmosphere.
Aside from a long loading screen this is amazing! The art is great! Also has poison swamps 10/10
You are really great! The game turned out great!
Cool atmospheric game. Finished the game, but still haven't quite figured out how the alligators work :D
@roburab Hey thats very cool that you were able to finish it!! The alligators attack if you step into the bubble range after a small delay, we did a couple playtest with bigger range and more alligators and it were too dificult considering the small timeframe people may have after the event, so we scaled the dificulty a lot less so people were able to enjoy it and not die too many times!
WOW, atmosphere is awesome
An interesting and exciting plot, and I would also like to separately praise the work of the artists and say how cool 3D is integrated into your game
i love your art style!and atmosphere is amazing
cool artwork and such a voiceover create interesting vibes, peculiar atmosphere I like it, well done
Art is on point!!! Love the vibe and the atmosphere. A few points from me:
1. I initially didn't want to go into the water because my first thought was "that's acid". So I checked all options before even trying to walk into the water. Maybe start the character in water to show that it's ok?
2. Because there's no hint that the water has alligators, the first time I got caught, it felt like a hilarious and arbitrary death. Maybe show an alligator running into the water at the beginning?
3. Having to restart completely after dying was annoying. I would have loved to spend more time in the atmosphere and solve the maze and all that but it felt too punishing and I gave up :sob:
Overall impressive work for a couple of days work. Narrative, audio, gameplay, art etc. Pretty good!
pretty good and great mood!
what a charismatic look!!
@ lexi89 wow, what a profound assessment! Take a look at my team's project, please!! Your analysis is great!
Top, this was actually genuinely scary
Interesting little horror game. I was unsure about how scary the water was supposed to be initially. Figuring out how the things worked together was interesting. I thought the boss as the end was a cool little twist.
This was incredible!
Really enjoyed the visuals and the overall polish that went into the game, there were times when I was getting a bit lost due to the hallways looking very similar on either ends, but a very good entry overall!
The introduction was great - I really liked it's art style and the voice over! I was super excited to explore the mansion. (Kept getting crashes so didn't get to finish the game unfortunately.)
This is stellar! Love the introductory cutscene/premise of the game and the visuals and audio do so much to bring it together. Definitely could see this being fleshed out into bigger game. Kudos to you all! ^.^
The loading was fast for me, but the opening sequence was just a black screen without sound. Had to reload the game to see it.
The cut-scenes art and narration are great! The game ambient is cool, and that mix between 2D and 3D made me think to an old Doom. With a priest. And no shotgun. And where the demons hunt you and not the opposite...
Some animations on the character could be great though. More alligators too, I never got caught, even before understanding that they were indicated by bubbles...
Good job anyway!
Great game. Loved the atmosphere, art style and VA are on point. I died right as the last gate was opening which was _infuriating_ - would love a checkpoint system.
I love the cutscene art style and the idea of voice over, however I barely understood a what you were saying (no hate, still loved it), in-game character ain't bad either, but what I really missed were the moving animations. Great entry!
I like the art n this one, it's very well done, I saw the concept art in the post and I thought it was awesome so I had to check this out lol. I think this game would be really interesting with a lot more polish and time!
I didn't really have a problem loading the game, just took a bit, but maybe that's because I have a pretty good PC.
I found the fact that the game kicks you back to the to the screen having to replay everything again to be pretty punishing and somewhat frustrating especially if you if you die somewhat late in the run which I did a few times. Checkpoints or autosaves each time you unlock or collect something would be really helpful in that regard.
It would help to have some sort of map of the layout, even if the game isn't very hard to navigate and short.
Also as someone else pointed out it would be good if there was some sort of warning in regards to the alligators, but honestly I found it pretty funny when I died to one.
Pretty good entry!
Great art style! But I didn't realize for the first time that I needed to run away from that bishop, that it was all back to square one
The starting cutscene was really good mood setter! The audio and characters thoughts solidified the sense of danger, even though the bubbling gators did kill me once... on the first time the bishop got me, as I admired how it looked (the red flame-like sprites are really nice!)
I enjoyed the suspense and the art. I died at the door waiting for the animation to finish which felt a bit unfair.
I think the chase to the final door needed something more - maybe traps, things to avoid on the way, something that can potentially slow you down or speed you up to make it more thrilling as it felt a bit flat.
Solid entry nonetheless!
You've clearly succeeded in creating an eerie atmosphere. At first I didn't want to put my foot in the water! :)
Thanks for the chills, good job!
I think so far this is my favorite entry in the "mood" category and a pretty strong contender for the art and sound department as well! It's amazing just how much JUICE you were able to put in it with the limited time and manpower we're all dealing with.
Buen juego! Very atmospheric, very impressive with the intro and the voice acting (in two languages!). I do wish there were subtitles, as it's easy to miss something if there's a noise or a moment's lapse in concentration.
I liked the 2D/3D combination. I guess at least a simple walking animation would've been nice. The character seemed a bit blurrier than the foliage.
The way you showed the crocodiles using bubbles and spatial audio was really nice, so I'm glad I played with headphones. At first I was terrified to even go near the water, but then I realised I had to wade through it to progress. Eventually I got overconfident about how close I could get to the bubbles and was eaten 🐊 Tensions rose once again!
The puzzles were simple but nice (again the main challenge was the scary water), however I too was confused about not having enough time to reach the cross when the boss started following me, so I had to read the comments. Took me another couple of tries before I felt I understood how it worked, but I was able to beat the game twice in a row after that.
I wasn't confident enough in my Spanish to try it the first time, since I wanted to make sure I caught the whole story, but I selected it after beating it in English, and it felt like it was the way it was meant to be played.
Cool stuff!
