As a tower defence fan, I love what you've done here. Had me thinking by round 2. A part of me expected to "sell" or "destroy" like in other TDs but actually thought it adds and makes it different. I'm sure you've had your own ideas but you would love to see some humour from little characters reacting to being hit.
Top marks. Wish there was something to feedback but can't think of anything! Genuinely enjoyed playing this
Love the vibes and the world setup. Jump kept getting stuck and found it hard to keep track of all the things to do & how the lemming is doing! Kept playing though - good work
Love the art, the story, the concept, the colors, the humour... really nicely executed. Favourite game so far. The only feedback that comes to mind is the "rounds" could transition a bit faster... at least, for my taste!
Love the animations, visuals, and music :) Had similar issue to others with the controls, movespeed, and throwing in browser.
Enjoyed this :) Gets pretty brutal quickly. Would love to see more more "intelligence" around the ants and seeing some interesting ant patterns like you see anthill cross-sections. Maybe the enemies destroying some of the walls or something?
Nice lighting and concept! Found it hard to work out balancing the need to jump and hide the light. Super hard bit early on when monsters come at you from the front. Maybe zoom the camera out a bit so you can see more and have time to react? Would love to see more of the world in one shot & seeing the light bouncing around
loving the Limbo vibes. Really atmospheric! Would love to hear the spider making sound and some more exploration of the sound bubble mechanic...
Love the novel idea and the pico 8 theme! Would be nice to have the whistle combinations on the screen while playing... I kept forgetting the combinations, which made the gameplay really hard to pick up and master.
loved this so much. The art, the responsive platforming, the music... Favourite game so far! Only notes I had were the sudden track transitions and wanting there to be more levels.
Given more time, I'd love to see the beloved pet comes back but something goes wrong and the character has to instead learn to face their grief. Maybe it looks like the pet comes back but it's actually the character's grief in disguise and it starts chasing him down in the levels...
Really tugged at my heart-strings this game.
Really cute game. Played till the end and loved it. Wish there were more levels and abilities!
Agree with the other commenters that it would be good to make taking damage more visible and have a brief moment of invincibility to avoid dying super quick
Didn't manage to beat the game but I loved every minute. The mechanic is genius and tutorials just the right amount. Favourite entry so far :) The only thing I'd throw in is to have a Portal-style simpler puzzle first for the player to get the ah-ha moment on the double-dig and box-destroy mechanics before unleashing the big level. Such a slick implementation though - you nailed this
Skipping ratings - I'm on a mac and can't play :sob:
Some sticking points for me were:
- pressing "e" sometimes doesn't start a fire even when on an empty cell. Was expecting that you could run around and spam "e" to start lots of fire and cast cool spells but couldn't get that to work. - I wanted to change the spell i'm casting while in the top-down view but couldn't without exiting back to the game and pressing another spell key - being able to stand in the fire and creatures walking through the fire feels strange... in games usually fire = bad - using the spells could be much more satisfying!
I do like the general idea though of a survival-strategy-magic game!
Art is on point!!! Love the vibe and the atmosphere. A few points from me:
1. I initially didn't want to go into the water because my first thought was "that's acid". So I checked all options before even trying to walk into the water. Maybe start the character in water to show that it's ok?
2. Because there's no hint that the water has alligators, the first time I got caught, it felt like a hilarious and arbitrary death. Maybe show an alligator running into the water at the beginning?
3. Having to restart completely after dying was annoying. I would have loved to spend more time in the atmosphere and solve the maze and all that but it felt too punishing and I gave up :sob:
Feel like I tried everything but couldn't figure out what to do with the egg. Cooking it put it in my inventory and clicking it from inventory just put it back in the world and couldn't sell it. Or buy anything. And no new food was being spawned...?
Also - the tutorial screen could be clearer by explaining what to step-by-step instead of explaining all the UI in one go without a sequence
Cute graphics, nice sound and animations! :)
It looks great! Would love to play it but I'm on a mac :sob:
Art and music are on point. Couldn't figure out how to play the game...
