Love the 8bit style, and the look of the creatures. There are so many to get! And then mixxing and matching... it's a lot. Love it.
Dang 3 days for a banger like this, i wasn't expecting something like this not gonna lie, good job!
super addictive gameplay loop, but the gameplay is not that fun. I still got a monke with 130 power though.

I dare u to beat me xD
I love that artstyle!
Wow this game is really addictive. Overall, the scaling is very well balanced; early on every bit of money counts and fights are hard, then in the mid game you grow in bursts followed by lulls where you build up your strength to beat a tough enemy. Later on there comes a point when you start to outgrow the enemies and scale exponentially, before finally tapering off when you can't kill enemies fast enough to pay for fusing. I think my score was about as high as most people have patience for, but anyone is welcome to prove me wrong... š

Yooo good job! The art is impressive and the balancing is on point. Well done!!!
Really nice music and clean UI! I also appreciate the tutorial. I think the gameplay loop could use an extra element somehow to keep it interesting for longer though, but not sure what.
Hah I got surprised by how well the idea fits the theme and allows for a quite a deep gameplay. I can see myself spending quite some time trying to optimize creatures!
Great job
The game is very polished for such a short period of time. And you have tutorials and stuff!
It really got me into the mad scientist mood. Got me thinking of Inspector Gadget cartoon
I wish the fights were more exciting though. Something you might consider if you decide to shape it up into a full product. It would make the game so much better for me personally. But for the jam, it's impressive what you managed to achieve! Kudos!
Cool little game! Good introduction and generally feels like there was quite a bit of polish. The UI felt a bit unintuitive at times, and I wish the fights were faster or more clear, especially at the start (I started thinking the game was bugged when nothing happened for more than 5 seconds).
I ended up losing to a PWR 11 creature as it was generally stronger than any of my PWR 11 creatures (faster than 12.50 it seemed). Did you know the "re-fuse" button doesn't check if you have enough cash? I ended up having -100 cash looking for something that could outspeed my enemy, but I must admit defeat.
@boodle Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention, we are implementing a fix ASAP
Nice job! It was hard to get the mechanics, but the game looks and sounds really great. I like how polished it is :)
variety of creatures is impressive!
@marra yeah we are super happy with that as well, theoretically we have 84,934,656 different creature combinations including colors xD
I thought I played long time: the game loop is really addictive [compared to my auto battler :(], but looking how people here go for hundred thousands of power.. wtf :D
I really can't stop playing it haha  Good job ! That's a very good game.
image.png Call me big Chonkus. Very nice game, keep up the good work! :)

@Dywanix, weāre thrilled that youāre loving the art style! We put a lot of heart into it, so itās great to see it hitting the mark. šØ
@Void4, itās amazing to hear that you found the game addictive and that the scaling felt balanced throughout! We worked hard to make the progression feel tasty, but we're still not 100%happy ourselves - Keep your glasses on to see the mad changes we're going to implement. That exponential growth followed by tapering off is all part of the Monkepok madness! And hey, if anyone wants to beat your score, the challenge is on! šŖš
@Laywelin, thanks for the kind words! Balancing is tricky, so knowing that it feels just right means a lot to us. Glad you enjoyed the art tooāitās all about fusing the visuals with the mechanics!

Hey peeps && sorry for the late response. The lab is really keeping us busy and fusing Monkepok can't be automated - Yet! š
First off, thank you for the love! Letās break it down:
@PlusMinus, weāre glad the game loop hooked you! Itās crazy how far some people push their Monkepok into the stratosphere with those insane power levels. š But hey, thereās always room for more experimentationāyouāve got this!
@Kyuz, haha, love that the game has you glued to your screen! Thatās the kind of madness we aim for. Thanks for the kind words, and weāre stoked youāre having fun! š š
@B4dHabits, Big Chonkus is officially the Monkepok MVP now! Thanks for the support, and weāll definitely keep the good times rolling. Stay tuned for even more! šµšŖ
Thanks again, everyone! More Monkepok madness is coming your way! š
i love the color scheme, the oldskool graphics are amazing! Loved trying out this game
Really awesome graphics and audio for such a short amount of time! It took me a short bit to get acquainted with the UI, mainly because the left mouse/right mouse click tooltips were the same color as everything else and I didn't pay attention to them immediately. Also wasn't sure if fights are going through as I had to wait a bit for the hits to happen. But overall, the loop seems fun, and the game is an awesome effort for just one weekend!
Very impressive for 72 hours' work! Unfortunately I ran into an insurmountable roadblock in the form of a Level 12 enemy that seemed to outspeed and 2-hit-kill everything I threw at it. The way the battle system works - with the first hits being simultaneous and subsequent hits being determined by Speed, which is invisible for enemies - means that's impossible to counter, and sometimes it looked like my Monkepok would withstand a second hit and then it didn't and I lost it.
Would have loved to have played for longer, though! There's definitely scope for this to be expanded out into something even bigger and better. Great job!
This is a pretty clever name! I'm genuinely surprised no-one has done it before tbh! Making a monster-fusion game is one of my dreams and you've done it so well! I'm can't praise the ingenuity of this project enough, and made within 3 days too?!? Wow!
Hey @magus77, @outstar, and @f1krazy! š
Thanks so much for playing Monkepok and sharing your thoughts! Letās break it down:
@magus77, weāre stoked that you love the old-school graphics and color scheme! We wanted to keep that retro vibe while splicing in the madness, so itās awesome to hear you enjoyed it! :DDDD
@Outstar, glad youāre digging the graphics and audio and thank you for rating/commenting yet again one of our games! <3 Thanks for the feedback on the tooltipsādefinitely something weāll need to improve simply to make things easier for you guys. And we hear you on the fights, we're currently working on displaying better indications for the battle! š Thanks again for the support!
@F1Krazy, we really appreciate the detailed feedback, we REALLY REALLY i promise you that! We made both creatures hit simultaneously to prevent that instant frustration of getting one-shot without a chance to fight back or letting the player hit first which would generate a one-sided STR only meta. But we totally see where youāre coming fromābetter balancing is on our radar for sure! As for that Level 12 roadblock, weāre working on making the power levels clearer, but remember you can always hit the shop and fuse your Monkepok for stronger stats! Sometimes it takes a few fusions, but you could land a powerful creature to beat that enemy. Weāll keep refining things to make sure itās more fun and less frustrating from the get-go! šŖ
Thanks again for playing my cute scientists, and stay tuned for more Monkepok madness! š
Very cool! I love the art and the cool names of the guys. For me, the main loop of fusing was difficult because of comparing 6 numbers to 12 other numbers. It would be nice to have the graphics be more analog, like seeing the two parents and the child lined up with a bar representing each stat.
I beat the first seven battles pretty early on but wasn't able to beat the eighth one.
Great entry! Definitely a great vibe.
Wow! The game is so wonderful! Keep making games!
Hey @weirdbitgames, @madbarron, and @sasa-2010! š
Thanks you guys for reaching out to us :D! Letās dive into another round of pure madness:
@WeirdBitGames, weāre super stoked you love the name! We had that same āwait, no oneās done this yet?!ā moment too. Glad we could bring your monster-fusion dream to life! Itās been a wild 3 days, and weāre happy the chaos has resonated. Keep it up, if we can do it you can too!!š
@Madbarron, appreciate the love for the art and those monster names! As for the fusing, yes sometimes a bit of strategizing is needed and keep fusing to get stronger monsters ofc :). A bar system sounds like a great idea, so weāll definitely be tweaking things to make it more intuitive. Congrats on crushing the first seven battles, and thank you for trying! Keep fusing and we're sure you gonna manage to clear the 8th battle soon !! šŖ
@Sasa-2010, thanks so much! Weāre hyped you enjoyed the game, and donāt worry, weāre not stopping anytime soonāmore crazy creations are on the way! š
Thanks again for the support, everyone! Monkepok madness will continue! š¹
Very creative game! It was an absolute pleasure experimenting with different fusions and see how monsters perform in battle! The pleasure I had when one of them defeated like 3 in a row! :sunglasses:
I don't think you were present on stream, but I did play your game there :)
