loved the *Atmosphere* and *Vibes*! Maybe a little repetitive but it's a neat idea and well executed :)

ntmalichi 2026-10-19 00:32 ♥ 2

The vibe is crazy good! It's so Eerie and trippy.

wormkingboo 2026-10-19 02:58 ♥ 1

This game is so chill and uncanny at the same time - great work on the atmosphere! The gameplay was very smooth, and it was nice to break it up occasionally with a new article of clothing. The music also fit the mood perfectly. All around a great entry 👏

the VHS look is spot on, feels like a cursed tape from the 80s. and the title pun is great. only did the first anomaly hunt but the mood is eerie in a good way

tasakasama 2026-10-19 17:42 ♥ 1

You really have to have your eyes wide open to find the anomalies, but the style is very nice.

anima-animus049 2026-10-20 03:09 ♥ 1

The style is unique and attractive, I like the atmosphere, though I need to stare at the pictures to find the anomalies,it makes me relax while playing. Really good game!

This entire game is such a vibe! I loved clicking around and discovering anomalies - it took me a while to figure out that watching the "crosshair" lines scrolling across the screen distort when they overlap anomalies, allowing me to find them more easily. Once I discovered that I felt pretty unstoppable, hehe, kinda like I was getting better at my job as a paranormal investigator, or something. The audio in particular is a huge standout to me, it really creates an incredible atmosphere! Awesome work <3

Such a relaxing game. It's so simple yet eerie at the same time. As if something will just come at you at any moment. Good stuff

What a spiritual journey man, sometimes got me scared of what comes out next, but beautiful at the same time

beareye 2026-10-20 18:31 ♥ 1

I was ready to run, but the weather was rainy so I stayed and just vibed. Cool game, atmosphere is great and gameplay is addictive. I think those white lines should've been something like a temporal hint and not an always-on-screen thing to make the player focus more on anomalies, but nevermind just vibe. Good job

nnnnneeeedddd 2026-10-20 22:07 ♥ 1

So kinda weird. Good job!

caeonosphere 2026-10-22 07:13 ♥ 1

It's like a real-time spot-the-difference drawing, but with just one drawing! It could be even better without the scan lines; I found that I was usually seeing them distort first, and so I wasn't looking at the image as much. I liked all the spooky/chill images as well.

And am I crazy, or was there a subtle pan on the staticky SFX that hinted which side of the image the anomaly was appearing on? If not, that could be cool too.

khaotom 2026-10-22 15:04 ♥ 0

@caeonosphere you figured it out 👍 i was very concerned that the warp effect might not work on some browsers/systems, so i added the scan lines and the audio cues as a back up,

fifut 2026-10-22 19:31 ♥ 2

I'm not really sure yet if I was playing a game or if I was in the backrooms.

What on earth is this thing?

Capture d'écran 2026-10-22 212538.png

The idea is very original 👍

cogcomp 2026-10-22 20:38 ♥ 1

Very moody dark Alice in Wonderland feeling I'm getting from this one. The swirly effect was cool and suitably subtly enough to make it a challenge to find them. Well done!

mrdumpling 2026-10-22 21:12 ♥ 1

It's mysterious.

~ Positive aspect: - There is an aesthetic of backrooms in this. You're looking at pictures you've seen before... It's interesting ... - An interesting approach to the “spot the difference” genre, where you’re looking for less obvious distortions. And the nostalgic vibe is very pleasant.

~ Didn’t like: - I got a bit bored at the end, searching for anomalies. The mechanics are too monotonous.

A good little game

Don't even know how long I "just chilled" at the end. Left it running while I did some other work, great vibe.

I had experiences with the mood of this game:

At first, I thought the meter at the top was a timer, and that I was in a race against time. I would see an anomaly and spam-click to get it as fast as I could, and say, ohman I'm really running out of time! Wait now I have to find SIX? I had my eyes peeled and frantically scanning.

I thought omg if this game lures me in this frantic intensive staring and then JUMP SCARES me with that weird smiling tooth-man, I'm really going to get got.

But then I noticed the bar wasn't always moving, and after a quick experiment I saw that it only moved when I spent my click dust. Ohhhhhh.

Well now that was a totally different pace. Much chiller.

Honestly I think I enjoyed both!

Cool entry, I had no idea that I could be basically staring right at a distortion and not notice for a while. Surprised me. Great job on the photos, the effect, and the sound, really came together in a nice way.

Great atmosphere! The sound fits it really well.

outstar 2026-10-24 15:58 ♥ 1

I really liked the overall atmosphere, both the visuals and the sound did a lot of heavy lifting, I was at the tip of my chair worried about incoming jumpscares! My only issue with the game is that I thought it was a bit easy, but I really like finding "odd" things in a bunch, so I had higher expectations for the challenge - and I also thought the bar at the top is a timer that moved only when lines crossed the anomaly (I think that would add extra tension) :)

liam 2026-10-24 16:04 ♥ 1

I have to say mood and audio were top marks from me, loved the soundscape you built, almost Vangelis-esque and loved the world you pulled us into. I think with a bit more variety and a little more of a difficulty ramp (the length of the game suited it v well) then it would have up at the top, but still, I really rate this one. Thanks for making.

bentglasstube 2026-10-27 08:50 ♥ 1

The sound design and the aesthetic in this one were the best I've seen. The pixelated photo look combined with the distortions were a really cool look, especially in full screen. It gave me vaporwave vibes and I loved it. The music combined super well with the rest. The gameplay it self I found a little bit lacking. It wasn't clear what the gas mechanic was for. Perhaps to punish misclicks? I always just waited until I was sure where the anomaly was to click so it didn't seem to make any difference. The sounds being linked to the lines passing through the anomalies was a great touch. Thanks for sharing this.

khaotom 2026-10-27 17:41 ♥ 0

I agree, the gameplay itself was lacking. I had no clear idea going into the dare what I wanted to make, and I tried a few different concepts before having to make a decision on one, and then tried to at least make it somewhat compelling. Definitely not my favorite mechanically, though I'm pleased with how the visual and audio turned out. Thanks for playing all! See you next Ludum Dare!

cupofcuppuccino 2026-10-27 20:19 ♥ 1

Really creative idea!! The distortions of pictures combined with the sound effects contributed to a great atmosphere (slightly tense and quirky but pretty fitting to old-tech). The game it self is actually a bit easy, I'd say the lines are really helpful in aiding the location of distortions. With no time limits it gets a bit casual to spot where the issues are, and then it gets a bit repetitive. Great idea worth making into a longer, enriched game!
