Great idea! I think this gameplay will soon create a new genre, because so many similar games have been released recently. I like the root realization and nice pixel graphics!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Shroomer Caves

Cool! Reminds me of an old flash game called motherload. I also like the graphics. But, the game slows down pretty badly when you break a lot of the rocks, and some of the gems at the bottom part of the map can't be collected. Aside from that, good game. Kudos!
That's a nice copy paste of : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1637320/Dome_Keeper/ The point of a Game Jam is try new things... I gave you good points for your Art though!
Cute pixel art! The game itself felt pretty well balanced - a nice loop of going underground, getting resources, coming back up and upgrading so that you can spend longer underground each time and find even more resources. Really smooth, responsive controls as well. My only criticism is that I started to feel a bit OP from about the halfway point.
Cool idea with really cute pixel art. I do have to say that the game is far too easy. I was able to beat it without even having to use one carrot.
Really fun - can see this becoming a full game different veggies etc image_2023-01-10_152326694.png
I got to the super cristal ^^ I actually quite enjoyed the loop to explore, harvest and upgrade ! The control felt nice and the overall feeling is quite chill, really liked it : )
Nice entry. Only wish it was a bit harder. Graphics and sounds suits the concept very well.
It really feels like a farm version of dome keeper - i love it. Was trying to remove all the dirt instead of ending, and on the last few blocks i wasn't watching and stumbled over the golden jewel a few blocks to early x)
Great art, sounds and gameplay! I cleared almost the whole map and maxed out upgrades, I couldn't stop playing! I found that collecting the crystals underground was a bit delayed, I would have liked the items to get picked up instantly instead of having to go back after I already passed over it. Also a feature where you can zoom out the camera to see all that you've cleared underground would be really cool as well. Maybe you can only do this when on the surface or something like that. Super awesome submission!
That's a fantastic game! The only issue i found is that it can win without even harvesting one carrot, but that's not influencing the joy brought by this game :D
Great game, fun to play, well made, you got a lot done within the time! I really liked the pixel art and music. It was well designed, I knew what was happening and what I was meant to do at all time. Well done!
222.png Cool game, builds excitement when you see the edges of crystals in the ground around you, and the magic is about to end. Thanks for the game!
F Pressers pay you respect
Really cool entry! Enjoyed the gameplay loop, graphics and audio! Felt like it had a good bit of polish also with the screenshake and effects. Like others have said, maybe a little too easy, but still really enjoyed it. Completed in 07:37, good job!!! :)
I found the magic crystal, and enjoyed it! I didn't read anything upfront and disabled tips, and still understood it all. That's a feat for a game jam game, or any game really. I liked the graphics effects very much, especially the growing roots and the crystal particles. That had the nice side effect that i could follow the roots to find my way back. Disclaimer, dev of Dome Keeper here :D I implemented a fuel mechanic there too some time ago, for a peaceful mode without monsters. I really like your take on this - the carrots for refueling a meter work very well, as the meter stays consisten in terms of how long it will last, and you get a good feel for how long it will last with the extra carrots. Great game!
The purple roots spreading was a really nice touch.

I liked the concept of the core game loop. The controls were a bit iffy for me, there were times when a carrot was near the entrance and I wanted to grab the carrot but instead I went down the cave. I really like the carrot mechanic; having players grow a power-up that will help them explore deeper into the cave without hurting them.
A really great game.
Note: I realized that the super crystal gives the orange particles and thus gives the player an indicator of where to explore. Tip is for anyone who still needs to play this game.
The concept seemed a bit weird at first, but surprisingly it works very well and fun to play. Good job! ss.png
Cute recreation of other games with a harvesting twist, I liked it although it lacked a bit of innovation or something new to that genre... Nice overall, very polished! Congrats on the result :)
Very smooth, I want more levels.
Played it on Monday.
Added a lot of features that didn't exist back then. It's a little unfair, because the competition is to show the result in 72 hours, but now the game has really become even better.
Great entry !
The graphics are amazing, the music is quite nice, the controls are smooth.
Well done !
The graphics are wonderful, the idea is very good, the game is fun. The music is nice even if repetitive. Good job!
I really enjoyed the base gameplay loop! I think the game could be a little bit more challenging as I was able to get maxed out on stats pretty quickly and didn't feel the "survival" feel underground after a while with 10 carrots in my backpack, but this could be easily fixed if you ever plan to work on it further. I think it has a lot of potential!
Digging is romance! Can't resist it :joy: Great game, it was fun. Game is well polished, overall good, really enjoy the time spent in this game. Well done!
Amazing game and a lot of fun! Trying to optimize the path to the crystal is awesome

One of the best games in the Jam. Permadeath is a bit hardcore, but other that great game. 10/10 would dig again.
This is a REALLY cool game. I can totally imagine playing this on my phone, just chilling on the couch. It feels as a full release. Good job with the physics, movement response, audio visual response is very good too. and the art is just stellar.
I can't stress enough how smooth the gameplay is. Really amazing job guys.
13:33:99, then on my second try : supercrystalfound.png
I love this game! between Dome Romantic and a harvesting game. Good balance between management and action!
Overall really fun but before finishing the game just went white screen and couldn't continue... ;(Screenshot 2023-01-12 121555.png
Feels very familiar, nice job getting this far in three days.
A Second soft timer to give the player some urgency when trying to get back up would be nice, death atm is very sudden and no real way around it if you get the timing 0.1 sec off.
With this many magic crystals I will become rich! :diamond_shape_with_a_dot_inside:
I have no feedback; this is my favourite game so far! Congratulations!
Thanks for **providing a HTML5 build**! Since I am playing on Linux, I appreciated it!
It's pretty clear that this is inspired by dome romantic. The gameplay loop feels good. The graphics and animations are super nice. The whole game is very well polished. The only con I have is that you need to use the mouse to shop upgrades.
Great game! Everything was well polished. The art, gameplay, and sound worked well together. The upgrades were fun, as it let me feel a lot stronger by the end. Thanks for the game.
Good job with the game. It was pretty fun to play and the loop of digging and returning for upgrades was paced pretty well. I liked the carrot growing mechanic but I wish there was some more to it since it never felt necessary to have more than one or two on you. This is also due to the fact the amount of water you can carry is limited so I was returning to the surface to deliver that before my magic was running out. It was a good experience overall.
very nice game!
controls feel super fluid, art is nice, i love the fact that the shroom's mycelium is the think collecting crystals.
the crystals collect system is nice, the only "issue" for me is there are way more purple crystals than upgrade perks, and at the end it means nothing collecting them. maybe have less purple crystals around the map so it's not that easy to get an upgrade?
Cute game, feels like a nice callback to one of my favourite flashgames called Motherload back in the day, it's nice to see concepts like that revived.
I love these types of games! I found the super crystal around 11 minutes. I liked the simplification of things, like being able to float around or bumping into to dirt to mine.
I am the shroom lord and anyone who thinks otherwise knows nothing
My only criticism is I didn't find it initially clear what the roles of carrots, blues and pinks were. Maybe I just didn't read properly or I'm just dumb. By the time I knew what I was supposed to do I was almost a god in the game already. Perfect length for an LD entry too, didn't overstay its welcome but had enough content with the systems provided
