One of the best pixelart graphics I've ever seen. Especially on the jam. Great job!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD57 → Scavenger Deep

One of the best pixelart graphics I've ever seen. Especially on the jam. Great job!
Incredible given only 72 hours!! Well-done!
Awesome game, pixel artist is god, but i have trouble button next collide with another button, and game do not continue(
it's look really awesome! nice job.
Wow, how?!
Daddy is angry
the art is incredible!
The art looks very professional and cool. I really like the atmosphere that the picture and the music creates, it completely consumes me and I feel like I'm part of this forlorn world from the first minutes.
I will look forward to the updates, I want to play and see all the ideas of the author.
Powerful atmosphere and incredible pixel art!
These are peak graphics! I doubt I've seen smth better in any jam. The game's looks are ready to be sold.
Thank you so much guys! btw the bugfix will be very soon :D
Wow such cool graphics and detail to everything. Somehow this reminded me of old zombie survival games like Project Zomboid with the atmosphere and sounds. The gameplay felt bit confusing at the start, and I guess the gameplay loop was a bit broken as well (money stayed constant, air regenerated if u moved ship a bit, etc) But overall amazing job :raised_hands:
I'm certainly not a fan of pixels. But this one. THAT'S PRETTY COOL.
Wow! I love this pixelart! Game is awesome!
The physics, graphics, surfaces, and overall atmosphere – there’s something about it... that really draws you in... like you're drifting along with the game's hero. I especially liked the boat physics. Considering this was made in GMS – extra respect for that :) You did a great job putting effort into such a promising gameplay concept! Thank you so much for developing and participating. Well done!
I love the graphic! Also animation is so good. But it's to dark underwater, hard to see anything there) In general great work!
That, my friend, is no doubt a 5-star graphics. I move onto the next day and then I suffer a huge frame rate drop though. Not sure if it is just me.
There is something meditating in this game! Liked the wire dragging along :) Got the suffocating sound loop which made me laugh. The pixel art is absolutely amazing. Great work!
Vibes off the charts on this one, absolute perfect audio/visuals combo for the mood. So many great little details as well like the putting on the suit animation - great stuff!
I have serious Fallout 2 vibes, don't know why! Maybe the color pallet or the music or something?
It was relaxing to go deep and back, although I had to boost a contrast a bit on the monitor.
Is there an end game condition to fulfill? I would love to finish this game.
The visuals are just incredible. Wow. And the vibe... Even the gameplay is quite good. Good job
It's impressive...the mood is incredible, a piece of art, well done.
i know its difficult to see under water, but the blackness suprised me slightly... the colour choices and lack of powerful enough light source kinda killed it.
best art so far easily
Awesome art and sound design. The atmosphere is sick — reminds me of Dredge. The lack of a clear goal is a bit of a downside, but overall, great job!
Thank you so much everyone, almost all the issues are known, we are fixing this!
One more masterpiece. Hope to see full version.
Incredible! What attention to detail for a game jam. I loved the atmosphere captured in this game.
On the other hand, for this game, I would have found it more sensible to have mouse-only control, or at least optionally.
I really like how you have to hold an old man to sail
@mumu thank you, this is the hero's father by design, we wanted to make an intro where the main character takes him to the ship in a wheelchair, but we didn't have time
The pixel art animations are absolutely insane! The audio design is just as impressive and really adds to the immersion. I did notice that the main character occasionally blinks or flickers on screen, but I assume that’s just a minor issue.
Amazing art, the colors and mood settings are incredible!
Cool!
Probably one of the best pixel art games for this jam for sure, amazing work!
This game is a vibe. What a thick atmosphere, I love it! And holy moly, those animations! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it!
The art of the game is beautiful and quite distinguishable, you have a very good artist. The gameplay loop is entertaining and it's pretty good for a Jam game, it feels similar to Dredge or Dave the Diver, I'd say that you could totally make this into a fully featured game if you continue working on it and add things to distinguish itself from similar titles
Incredible graphics, really well done with really fluid animations. It was a little bit dark for my liking, but I guess that fits the theme!
very nice, got only one bug, where the rope torn me back and I couldnt jump straight up. For this time and with this style very impressive :D
Wow, the art is amazing! The whole atmosphere and mood is great. The setting is also very intriguing and immersive. Everything feels well polished as well. Gameplay itself was maybe a bit uninteresting and repetitive. Otherwise very well made entry! Definitely stands out among the rest. Well done, and thank you for the experience!
WOW soo amazing art
I really like the pixel art and the atmosphere it creates, a very interesting game !
Incredible art, atmosphere and mood. Would be interested to see what this game is like with the cut features.
@vinnnie Thank you, ive added a link to the concept art in the description above, I hope we could implement everything one day
Beautiful graphism, animation and sound. Too bad i can't go back up in the boat, my only way is death :'(
The art and atmosphere are just incredible, and I'm somehow drawn into the "world", and could really see some larger story in this. Great job!
Incredible job! What a polished game given the short time, amazing
Visuals are goated! Would love to see some more gameplay mechanics though :)
Incredible game! Really like how some of the graphics are done, you did a great job!
This game was super atmospheric, which I already saw just from the screenshots. The gameplay matches this atmosphere really well too. It all feels very lonely, moody and a bit depressing to me, as I imagine such a catastrophic world would feel. I also like how you are never really told how to play in the game, but you kind of figure it out as you go. For a simple game like this it works fine, and it really adds to the atmosphere to not have any gamey tutorial popups.
Unfortunately I ran into some gliches at some point. The game started to lag a bit and my character would not move left or right anymore when I was on the ocean floor :/
Still, I think it is really amazing what you created in 72 hours. Great job!
@wuppos thank you, we will upload the first hotfix very soon and hope you can enjoy the game a bit more !
Fun experience, great job
Best game I’ve played so far! You totally nailed the atmosphere. Controls could use a bit of polish, but overall, 10/10! 🔥
Insanely cool art and mechanics, cool work in 3 days
Totally agree with all the glowing reviews! I’m so curious about the world’s history, Is it a post-apocalyptic setting, or what? Oh, and the music really reminds me of This War of Mine! Keep it up — I’d love to play the full game someday!
super cool pixel art, especially the equip/unequip animation, it looks great, found the fact that you didn't know how much stuff was worth once back on the ship felt a bit random to decide to go back home and sell it, maybe some estimation would be nice? overall neat game ❤️
As someone else said, the vibe is on par with this war of mine. Incredible art direction, graphics and music. The gameplay loop fits well ! Unfortunately I think a had a bug : I could come home without scavanging had I faced no consequences. I went up to day 100 !
God the visuals of this game are gorgeous. I can't believe you drew it in such a short amount of time. The gameplay itself is very meditative but repetitive. However, the overall atmosphere is handled very well.
@aleksey-salion its kinda pre-apocalyptic, like failed state
The atmosphere is incredible, and the feeling of sinking into the depths is unreal!
Amazing game, I really liked the atmosphere, smooth animations and beautiful style. Thank you for this game!
Lovely game with nice mechanics. Art and atmosphere are super cool.
The visuals and sound really sell this game to me, gameplay is simple but thematic and on point. This is inspiring, wery well done, comrades!
p.s. I would love to see artist social media (like artstation) but i can't find team members anywhere (though if aninymity is intentional, its understandable)
@mcramon check my profile
Art is somethink unbelievable.
Great aesthetics! Smooth animation, lots of environmental objects animations, etc...The game has a really high degree of completency given the 72 hours limit. It looks like a chilling game right now because I can't tell the player's goal. The game could have a little bit of tutorial and UI could use some work to match the art. I love this game!
Amazing pixelart!
Overall, EXCELLENT WORK!! The game has a cool underwater trash collection system, awesome aesthetics, and great sound effects—it’s clear you guys had a solid vision for both your goals and the kind of vibe you wanted to give players. Right now, though, there are some bugs. For example, when you're underwater and your oxygen is low, a suffocating sound effect plays, but it doesn't stop once you get back on the boat. Also, after resurfacing, you can jump onto the boat even if you're still a bit away, which feels a little counterintuitive to me. Other than that, WE CAN'T GO HOME!! NOOOO!!!
Absolutely stellar looking game. The pixel art is just SO GOOD. Love the atmosphere and great audio too. Well done!
Hotfix 1 is out!
+ Fixed low visibility underwater. + Fixed certain sounds are not playing in the html5 version. + Fixed a bug whith ui interaction in the html5 version.
Actually theres a lot of stuff laying underwater who can find a drowned plane ? :D
I like the way you made this theme, the animation is very cool, but sometimes it's too dark(( but I like it anyway
Your game has such an incredible atmosphere! I really love all the little details and animations — so much care went into it. This totally deserves to become a full game with a proper story and budget behind it!
This game is a statement in itself of what can be done in such a short amount of time — seriously impressive. Really cool idea to link your concept art too, gives a nice little behind-the-scenes touch. Great job!
the atmosphere is wonderful, perfect match for the theme my game got extremely laggy when finishing the first game, making it unable to continue
very well done!
incredible! put a side some bugs and glitches- this is wonderfully done! art/mood/audio and gamedesign are top notch. but i want to put extra credit on the teamwork itself and your time managment. i can easily say your are a good team by that game. congrats to all! loved it :)
That's some high level pixel art polish, good work! Sets the mood/atmosphere perfect with the audio and the game ran fine without bugs. Would of been great to be able to upgrade your speed, oxygen, etc with the money you earn to give it more urgency and have some sort of progression because the game feels a little too slow paced. It's a great looking game though, looks professional!
Wow, the graphics are absolutely stunning here. The animations are gorgeous. Definitely one of the best looking jam games I've ever played!
The gameplay side seems to fall a bit short, though. I'm not sure if there's anything to do besides diving and collecting scrap. You just scavenge stuff and then... nothing happens. I'm not sure if you can actually do anything with the money. At least I didn't find any purpose for it. I experienced some issues with the suffocating sound getting stuck on repeat even after coming to surface, swapping the air bottle and getting out of the suit. Also, when going up the cable seems to pull the diver towards the ship. This caused me to get stuck in an underground cliff at one point. I couldn't move anymore so I just died there. I also think going downwards could be a bit quicker. It took forever to go down to the deepest parts of the level.
Overall you guys still nailed the graphics, audio and mood. Truly a gorgeous piece.
Incredible art and nice gameplay, I love the mood!
Stunning art ! I wish I could do pixel art like that ! The low visibility in the water is a bit much though. A flashlight would have been nice. Overall, I liked it a lot !
The game is beautiful, with a very good music ! I would have loved to see a bit more in the water ! It would have been nice to have some kind of objective to make the return to home useful in some way !
Amazing job on the art—it looks fantastic! It's almost unbelievable that you managed to pull it all off in just 72 hours. Great work!
I don't want to repeat after everyone else, but the graphics are really awesome. I also want to note the excellent correspondence to the theme of the jam and the sound component
Sick art, and the vibe is really nice. This game could be something even cooler with a fleshed out storyline (as the setting is unique) and some more gameplay aspects that keep it fresh. Awesome entry!!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !
The art on this game is absolutely stunning, and so is the audio. Together they create a great atmosphere. Inceadible work!
The gameplay is abit buggy and slow. Several times I had to restart because something broke. Can't move under water, suddleny the game thinks I'm swimming while I'm on top of the ship etc. I hope you get a more stable version going. Ping me if you do! Unfortunately I have to rate based on the jam version, but this has great potential!
@ausstein Thank you, we are working on bugfixes right now
This is art! How did you make the pixel art in only 72 hrs o-O There must have been sleepless nights. As a pixel artist I am extremly impressed.
Great entry!
Great job folks! I wouldn't be the first one to say that the art and the vibes are great :D Keep it up!
@jona-scheidig, yeah this was pretty tough honestly, we pushed to the limit
Seriously beautiful game my goodness, unfortunately ran into a bug with the player animator that got stuck in a loop and I couldnt continue, happened twice :(
The art is absolutely stunning...The soundtrack and sound effects as well. OMG how did this get made in game jam. Well done doesn't cut it, I am seriously impressed.
Very beautiful, especially loved the muteness of the water! It feels very complete.
This is probably the most polished and beautiful game I've played this event. Graphics and sound is absolutely stellar, the gameplay is quite simple, but fun, and with all the mood and atmosphere, I didn't really care about the gameplay much. I simply wanted to chill in the water and on the boat. The little details are crazy, like little animations, changing clothes animations, moon animation, environment animations, and DRIVING THE ACTUAL BOAT!
Like comon guys, this isn't a Jam game, this is straight up fully flashed game. Well done. I'm sure you will be in the top 25 :)
Pleasant art and mood, boat and rope physics are perfect, but controls are bit clunky and I felt bored...
Very atmospheric and polished game.
Such pixel art in 3 days... Artists, are you alive there?
Good game! Really want some objectives to do ^_^
Stuningly beutiful! The vibe and music is superb. The object was a little confusing, but defintly a memorable experience.
Strong visual, but it's kinda slow. It will be great to see the next version with a lot of different gameplay mechanics!
The atmosphere of the game is awesome - well done!
As others already pointed out, very impressive entry and how tf did you do that in just 72 hours 😮
The only little nitpick I have is I would have loved to be able to roll up the cable again so that it could look clean again, especially for the driving.
This might be the most beautiful game in the jam! Very captivating atmosphere.
However, I don't know if I discovered all features, but I got bored quite fast. I guess you guys were too greedy haha! With that amount of polish, it's no surprise that things had to get cut. This game will be insane if you keep working on it. All it needs is some more content and cool gameplay mechanics and it will be top tier!
I really liked the style of the game, very nice artwork. Also the gameplay is quite interesting and most importantly addictive
Absolutely gorgeous game! So many visual treats to gush over - the distant smoke, the playing birds, the dive-line wheel letting out slack - I could hang this game on my wall and just appreciate it as art! Gameplay could use some extra features, some level of challenge - but I still thoroughly enjoyed my time just soaking in this beautifully melancholic seascape. Great work!
Excellent work in all layers
Dave The Diver - but make it a dark drama movie! Incredibly inspired and impressed by the work put into this. On every level – absolutely powerful stuff! Huge thanks, I happily spent almost an hour playing it!
I've never seen this level of quality in the artwork in a game jam before, I wish i could give more than 5 stars because it's on its own league visually. The gameplay can get repetitive but the visuals and the audio really teleport you there, making this a very powerful experience anyway. Great job!
Beautiful graphics, love it, wished the gameplay was a bit more elaborated though
The art is incredibly well done for such a short amount of time, kudos to whomever churned all that out! The lighting is well done too, and the gameplay loop is solid. As I continued to play though - my frames kept getting lower and lower to the point I was no longer able to continue playing, so I think something is causing your game to slow down in performance. I also want to add that it would be lovely to carry more than 1 item at a time whilst diving.
It goes without saying that the presentation is absolutely amazing. The visuals were amazingly detailed for a jam game, and the audio was great at selling the mood and atmosphere
I had a couple of bugs though. The sfx for the player drowing didn't stop when I got out of the water, and didn't stop when I went back in after changing my gas tanks.
Still, I'd say what was here was still fun for what it was. Solid job here on this one.
This looks incredible. The art is very well done! I am really impressed! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful cover, but gameplay is senseless - you pick treasures to buy oxygen and use oxygen to pick treasures.
10/10 art like everybody else said. I looked on github and every animation seem to be hand drawn. This is really tremendous achievment and boggles my mind
Absolutely fantastic art, oh my god. And the music that accompanies it, so atmospheric. I had chills! And it reminded me of This War of Mine. If it had some story, some more features, it'd be a buy from me FOR SURE.
How ? In 72h......How ? Not only the graphics are amazing but the Audio is also incredible ! You could honestly release this on Steam with a few more features
Insane art! 😍
Incredible art and very atmospheric music. As others have mentioned, if you are amazing in some categories in a jam, sometimes others might end up neglected, which I happened with the gameplay here. There simply isn't time to get everything perfect, polished and tested (Same thing for our game). But I really like the idea you guys were going with and I think given more time you could definitely have a very fun gameplay loop.
I did encounter a very annoying bug where the suffocation sound would not stop playing. Trying to progress the day when that happened madethe entire game lag very hard. I can provide a clip of it if you guys are interested in fixing it.
On a final note I really wish there was a fullscreen option available, or at least I didn't see it :/ Great job :)
Okay graphics, animation, atmosphere, sound, and music are like really awesome. Wonderful job on that. For me, the gameplay was a bit boring, or I should better say I wasn't sure why I was doing what I do. Maybe a bit of an introduction would have made the game even more atmospheric, but I guess you have planned that in, and we all know that time is never enough in a game jam. So I would say you have done an astonishing job! Would love to play a more worked out version of that game! :)
The art and the animations were incredible! wild that you did all that in 72 hours, great job!
Graphically very interesting and the mood as well is perfectly captured.
That feeling after my first day of diving when I got $6 for my scraps and that my expenses amounted to $5.49! My heart sank!
