Pretty cool. The enemies being invisible is kind of mean since the only way to see them is to get dangerously close to them.

Man loved the look, but this game is way too hard for me. I liked the whole visible/invisible mechanic, but feel that the enemies make it a bit too unfair. Sometimes you just makes things visible and die instantly because an enemy was on-top on you.

Also while I did get the game running on Linux using Wine, there's issue with the pathing. Specifically the data folder, which needed to be renamed to shadow_Data.

The art is really good, but the gameplay is meh. The idea of having invisible platform is nice, but it is not fun to be jumping into the dark most of the time. This makes platforming really frustrating, especially when an enemy pops up out of nowhere because you did a double jump. Most of the time it is easier to just dies on purpose to get a glimpse of the platforms.

Fantastic artwork combining persona style UI and p&s style characters! Also stylish background graphics. (“重金求子”广告牌也很接地气)

I vote 5/5 for graphics since it's more than adequate for a 72h jam game. Yet it could be better if adding more details and making the background look consistent with the characters.

When it comes to gameplay, as others mentioned, finding invisible platforms is not enjoyable. The hazard platform in the late game is better than the invisible platforms. However, I can see your effort that a larger portal spawns whenever the character fails, it does help.

Btw I wonder if it's a bug in the last level that I could stand on some hazard platforms even though I didn't open the portal. (It actually makes the level a lot easiler.) Also, the hitbox of the boss in the last level might be a little too large, since the screen height is less than screen width and player cannot see what's above.

I beat the last level twice just to see two different ending artworks. And it's absolutely worthy. XD

场景转换时的摄影机聚焦以引导用户关注点的设计很朴实,很脚踏实地,赞。 甚至还有过场漫画,画面质量这方面挺上得来。 也有一点小瑕疵,不过影响不大,比如广告牌处会出现略微掉帧的情况。 总体来说,这是个色香味俱全的项目。

This game i really stylish, I like the font you used for the menus. The music is great and I love the way you've made it zoom in and out at points, feels really polished and professional!

Great game, I liked it. It sounds amazing, looks great, and is fun to play. The very core of the gameplay, with invisible platforms and enemies, is really interesting. Controls are responsive. Good job.

PS: The absence of English is somewhat frustrating, yet it wouldn't be so difficult to translate a couple of sentences of the tutorial, at least with subtitles. I had to learn about invisible platforms with the poke method. Still, it wasn't that hard.

Shadow Thieves' is drenched in style. I saw the cover art, thought it looked rad, downloaded the game and it did not disappoint. It's easy to pick up and play, challenging to get through, has a decent number of levels and looks gorgeous. I like how you played with the various background elements to make wild looking scenes in the later levels, I especially like the cutscenes.

The game has a great art style, but the gameplay itself isn't particularly engaging. It's a typical platformer, but with invisible platforms, which could be interesting, but the execution turned out to be rather unsuccessful.

Things I liked: - The illustrations and style of the game are very cool! - Did you make the music yourself? It's very nice :) - The 'portal' mechanic is very interesting and innovative, and I like how the colors and the world changes. - I like that in the very beginning you show the evil boss character behind a wall. It made me interested to keep playing. - The invisible platforms were challenging and fun in one level where I felt like I needed to memorize it. - The camera movement zooming in and out to focus the level was very smooth. - Boss sequence that changed the pace by forcing me to go fast.

Things that could be better: - I think the execution of the portal mechanic could be improved. I don't like that I need to keep resetting it with shift. I also don't like that I need to sometimes just suicide over and over to understand what the level layout looks like. - I didn't like that the enemies were invisible unless there was a portal. They felt very difficult to avoid because of that. I'm not sure that enemies are even needed in this sort of game. - The parallax in the first level feels very strange. The level that the character is in isn't moving at all, so there's no reason that the background should be moving either.

Overall, great visual style, and really interesting ideas with the invisible platforms and portal mechanic. Well done! :)

This is awesome! Love the graphics and music. I think it would be better to not have the tumbling invisible enemies because the invisible walls is enough of a challenge already. The chase at the end was so intense! It was so long that I got really nervous I was going to screw it up and die, but it was a great payoff when I escaped. Thanks for the great game!
