Reccomented PC Build!
What an amazing game! I was lost a few times and ran from one end to the other, but I guess that's part of the experience. I really love the graphic style of this game!
The web version is a bit funky but I quite liked the visuals and dialogue! Especially the manta rays, I like the manta rays.
I really love the visuals and atmosphere of the backrooms, so I especially liked the visuals and sounds in the game! Unfortunately, I couldn't get past one level, and I also couldn't figure out the game when I downloaded it:(
While the game looks nice and all, I really could not figure out what to do in it. You should really write something about how to pass level one in description or smth. :D For now i just ran around like headless chicken clicking e at everything xD maybe i missed something. Menu looked awesome xD. Mention me if you want to tell me how to pass lvl 1 ;D
Unfortunately the web build wouldn't run for me. Could play because no linux build :(
@vokietislt We are working on it. To go further, you need to interact with shaking objects on the "E"
@sofia-miglan Thanks for writing back :D you just got your rating increased by a lot ;D
OMG, this is just gorgeous. I was in awe walking through the poolrooms and stumbling upon the manta ray scene. Love the nod to BioShock. Sound is top notch except for the walking under water noise which gets annoying quickly. I only understood that shaking objects were not just a style choice but a mechanic after reading your comment, even with the little tutorial prompt. Maybe some more hints to teach the player would be nice.
I thought it was coming from the web version but I'm only turning on myself and it's a bit complicated to find all the shaking objects so I didn't do the rest.
What a blast !! The atmosphere is AMAZING. Only negative feedback I'd give is I had to read your comment to understand how to play because I was stuck on the first level.
Apart from this the sound and visuals are so clean ! The dialogue makes it weird you're wondering what you're doing (which is cool) and the text to finish it ... Crispy clean !
You know how sometimes you see a piece of art, it moves you and you're not sure why but you know you like it because you felt something, this gave me the same vibe.
I never thought this could be done in 3 days, you are so awesome for doing this!
70885bb8b00f3f978faed985614f83e9.jpg
Looks like your embedded web build has the classic LD mouse bug, you'll need to use a non-even resolution number so instead of 640/480 use 639/480 and it should fix the infinite spinning issue on the mouse pointer hook.
I like the vibe but fighting the mouse and lack of guidance is causing me to not progress. Violently shaking an object without a button prompt on inspection to tell me to interact was not particularly intuitive. Additionally shaking the screen in the tunnel section caused me to not be able to progress after interacting with the oxygen tank as I could not see anything with as my entire screen shaking like it was having a seizure. Not sure if I just wan into a bad bug but there's nothing fun about it. Consider adding alternative or reduced effects for showing the madness of the player character.
This is one of the best atmospheric games I've played on this jam. Great surreal locations, if you like light atmosphere mixed with creepy moments and modern art, this is the game for you, the downside is that it's easy to get lost in it and not understand what you need to do, but that's kind of the point.
That was a pretty interesting experience, I really loved ocean's visuals, especially the part where you are going through the glass corridors, it's really pretty and well done. The story itself was pretty good as well, good job on the game
cool vibe, but it's not really clear what to do on the "second" level when everything starts to turn red and shak..
Amazing locations! Such a good atmosphere. How to progress wasn't obvious and had to come back to the comments to learn about the shaking objects. On my first playthrough I did actually E some of the objects but the range was too unforgiving and doesn't work unless you're right up to them. Anyway glad I figured out because some of the laters locations were so good! Reminded me of SOMA. Excellent work on the art and assets, and the low-res visuals. Thank you for the experience!
this is so cool! my game ended up being pretty similar to this haha, different theme tho.
i had an audio bug when i entered the water, the rest of the game the splashing sound effect followed me around, other than that, this was really cool!
Really amazing game, the atmosphere is just incredible. I love the art style, the pixelated look can be easily messed up but here it was done right. The colours of some of the stuff are just so vibrant and amazing too.
I honestly found pressing e on the shaking objects quite intuitive, the only time that went wrong was when the screen was red and shaking so much that I couldn't see what object was shaking in the tunnel.
The only big issue that happened for me was that on the ending screen my mouse didn't reappear so I couldn't click on any of the options so I had to force shutdown the game. Idk if that was just a "me thing" because don't really see any comments on that, but in case it isn't then that might be something you wanna fix.
Your team should be proud to have been able to make a game like this in just 3 days
This is the definition of a deep game. Got immersed fully. Loved the graphics and audio. Hate you for the jumpscare, but love you for the game
Wow, really amazing work yall did here. I really got into the atmosphere and storytelling that yall were selling here. I'm pretty amazed at the amount of 3d graphics work done here too! Tons of assets and really compelling environment.
/spoiler One small feedback I'd have is that during the first really intense section with FX red/shaking, it was difficult to find the object I was looking for. I had actually tried to click it earlier, but I guess I wasn't looking dead on at it. Giving a little bit more leeway during that segment might be helpful to players.
Really nice work!
Wow, there's some pretty deep meaning behind this game!
Wow, this is a real visual and audio punch—amazing atmosphere! It’s funny, because in a way, we explored a somewhat similar theme in our own game, and it’s really interesting to see how you approached it here. The game really gives off Mouthwashing or 1000xRESIST vibes, both in its atmosphere and overall feel. It’s really well done!
what a beautiful game! reminded me of a kid amnesia, cool!
wow this is freaking amazing! the artwork is stunning!
excellent use of controls to make the game interactable you clearly have an understanding of good user input design
amazing work on the environments too
what was the most difficult part to flesh out while you made this game?
The visuals are really nice, and the fact that you were able to complete this in 3 days is insane, great job!!
Yeah... i have no idea what to do. Please make some instructions or something
Very enjoyable game, the visual style is incredible :)
Excellent game, gorgeous and moody. I am amazed that you managed to build so much in such a short time. I would have liked a bit more time to reflect on the last sentence rather than switching immediately to the credits.
Pretty cool. Feels more like I'm walking through an modern art galary compared to a horror game, but anyway very liminal
So far, this one has the best scenes and 3D assets of all the games I have played. It is crazy to make so many assets and build them into scenes like this in 72 hours, well done!
Backroom feeling game. Cool submission
The atmosphere is great!
Incredible atmosphere, probably the most impressive I've seen so far in this jam. Fits the theme well. Bravo!
This game is so Awesome! Love the aesthetics and the sounds. The gameplay is really fun and makes you wonder what's happening :D
Great Visuals! Love the whole game. Great Job!
vibe
Great stuff! The only two things that bothered me where that you need to interact with every objects available in order to move to the next layer (and that I had no idea I had to as it wasn't written anywhere). So I got stuck a long time in the second part in the aquarium tube with the screen shaking (maybe this is wanted idk). And then the step sound is way too noisy and repetitive (maybe this is wanted idk). Apart from that great visuals and feeling.
I really like that idea!
I like this atmoshere!Very cool game!
What a cool experience! I played the web version and the PS1 style visuals really suited the vibe. So many amazing looking bits of scenery, it's such a carefully put together package.
I went a bit off-piste on the jellyfish section and ended up in a hole that I couldn't get out of - I didn't mind restarting the game though because the aesthetic was so cool! Also I thought the occasionally shaking objects were part of the scenery at the start so didn't think to try interacting until I'd done a few laps.
Had a blast though, great work team!
I shat myself, GG
I really love this kind of game! It was really cool. Only negative point for me was the swimming sound, which got really annoying at some point!
Meanepth's atmosphere is thick and apologetically unsettling. Throwing you right into the ocean to contemplate a set of events from drinking problems to loss of loved ones. There's a whole spectrum of emotions here and thick visual style, especially in that lighting.
I like a game that's got the scary stuff, but takes the time to establish a scene and buy me dinner before unleashing their true colors and that's pretty bold to pull off in a 72hr time frame. I think it hits the marks in the right places, stirring up that something's wrong and spilling the beans in context.
Short version, I had a good time with your atmospheric story.
Very atmospheric! I enjoyed slowly walking through the memories and contemplating life. While the game lacks in gameplay, I think it's a lot harder in some ways to make something more artistically meaningful, something you connect with emotionally - well done pulling it off in 3 days!
I had the same mouse drifting issue some commenters above had but I honestly did not mind it too much - felt like it could have been deliberate given that we seem to have a drinking problem. Though I suppose you'd expect more of a wobble than a constant rightward drift with that.
Great work on the visuals - both on the amount, variety and detail of assets but also on the consistent design and well-used shaders - helps sell the melancholy together with the audio design. Very well done!
What a gorgeous world you guys created, with such an intriguing depth of story. It’s so pleasant, I feel like I could walk in it forever
Vibe
Very impressive overall to experience, great polish, atmosphere, and presentation. Well done!
I would suggest working on guiding the player into the interactions more but aside from that the VIBE is so good.
HOT DAMN! This is an excellent entry. Top marks for audio from me. Graphics looked great, killer mood too. Really nice stuff. I NEARLY stopped playing as I thought it was bugged out. the end of the tunnel was blocked, so I thought I needed to backtrack, so I ended up back in the fall room and then went al the way back to the blockage before the level progressed. Glad I stuck with it as the later levels have some lovely atmosphere. one HUGE plus point I want to add.. the changing footstep sounds on each floor type REALLY added to the mood. Wonderful stuff. Great work.
The graphic and maps style is SO unique! As others said, the embed is not working well, but the web version on itch.io does. If anything, I'd make the elements more puzzle-like, but I agree that even this scope is already a bit crazy for a jam, great work!
Great game! The graphics are great, the audio work was really good as well. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the swimming sfx during one of the last scenes, I felt it got a bit tiresome after a while. But really, that's the only complain I have haha Everything is really well done, polished and beautiful. Great work you did. Thanks for making it
Captivating atmosphere and a clever take on the theme!
Previously I Accidentally commented the feedback for the wrong game here. Then I realised you can't delete comments just edit so now after I am edeting the comment to actually have the correct feedback after having played the game :D
The Artstyle was really unique and in general i liked it, i just felt in some sections the very high pixelation without anti aliasing just hurt from looking at because the pixels changed to rapidly when moving the mouse. Especially with the bright glowing jellyfish in the end. I don't really know how to fix this without throwing overboard the incredible artstyle. Maybe more muted colors?
Strongpoint is definetly the mood that this game delivers!
Interesting game with a deep message. I really like the entries in this jam which try to tell a story aswell and leave a message to the player. The whole atmosphere really adds to that. At the beginning it felt like a backrooms game but quickly evolved into smth less dull as a backrooms game, haha
The design was great and the sounds overall nice aswell, although I can recommend either using more footstep sounds in general or use some kind of pitch-shift under the water ^^
You got me, that jumpscare was tough hahaha. So the game is quite unique, there's something special around it, the aesthetics is gorgeous and the sound design reminds me a lot of old ps1 games. That was a really cool experience thanks !
As everyone else has said, the atmosphere and environments are really great, especially with the pixelation. The jellyfish are pretty, and I like them despite the jumpscare that one of them triggers.
I don't get it.
Dang I nearly shat myself! Very cool game, beutiful scenery, very clever use of the artstyle as it almost looks like the voxelization/aliasing combined with the camera movement provides a sort of "animation" of otherwise static objects. Technically impressive and interesting storytelling. At the beginning I got stuck for a bit in the first tunnel when everything went red as everything was vibrating and couldn't find the object to interact with.
Incredibly beautiful and interesting game!!
This is an incredible game :o Few technical issues (had some ray teleports in front of me), and the walking sound underwater is a problem, other than that it's a true gem! Also I feel the game could benefit from having a way to soft block the player if you miss an item. Loved the backroom into bioshock ambiance, it works really well, and the narration is on point. Congrats!
The scary atmosphere and setting are top notch. The memory items also add to the fear. Great horror!
Damn what a short yet great experience, had my hairs stand up and everything. Quite chilling, I think what got me is when it said "after all, she could've been saved". Great entry!
Cool atmosphere, it's like those liminal images you'd see online
This was very interesting, but the visual effects put into this game were nothing short of stunning!
Absolutely stunning atmosphere and visuals, feels like wandering through a surreal dream. The mood, audio, and environments are deeply immersive. Just a bit more player guidance early on would elevate the experience even more. Amazing work!
so atmospheric!!!
I'm confused, was I supposed to go somewhere after the manta rays? Felt a bit short  otherwise nice ambiance
Like art, but there is too much walking.
I got to the giant jellyfish and couldn't figure out how to progress. I was using the web build which seem to be problematic, so maybe I'll try the windows build later
Really impressive you create this mini world in 3 days. The environments, mood and audio are really good, and the sea creature are impressive. I also liked the text effect where it delete itself, and that there wasn't too much of it. I also liked the brisk walking pace, and honestly I wanted to jump few times, probably FPS habit die hard
I would really want to see where this goes - I think for this type of experience it's ok for it to be linear and obvious how to progess - the 2nd stairs for example were a little hidden
All in all, really impressive work
Great job, everything is just perfect here!
i liuked exploring, the scene set was weird nd strange nd i luiked finding all the vibrating objects``~
Interesting take on the theme, everything was well put together and created a great atmosphere and sense of mystery. In the first level the white text was sometimes a little difficult to read against the white in the level, but that's the only issue I experienced. Really good entry!
