Awesome art and animations! The sounds are funny too. Sadly no restart button when dying. Fun game well done

Love the art style, great job on the sprites and animation. SFX are on point (nice voice acting). Good game overall
A nice game!
It's a pity the wizard killed me immediately for *spoiler*, hoped it could actually be the hidden depth behind this :) so I've got move around a lot and jump. Also, some of the pits are not marked "danger" - would be great if I could find something on the bottom of those other than my death.
Still, good job!
I finished the game solely because the game has great visuals! I was also pleased with the sounds. The plot is funny, full of twists, I was especially pleased with the moment where you can jump over a bridge and get killed prematurely for your cunning :) As for the downsides, I would add yellow and orange keys here - some people will have difficulty distinguishing these colors, leave either only yellow or only orange))
A solid quality and the shared style is cool. And I do like the impact on animation. Bonus points for the bridge bringing me to the theme " Depth". Nice one.
Screenshot 2025-04-08 104506.png Great polish and very good for just 72 hours! The controls feel very fluid. I have two complaints however. First of all, I found it a little irritating that when I died I had to restart that whole beginning segment with all of the dialogue and such, restarting at the start of the area where I fell would be a much better choice imo. Secondly, in this screenshot I uploaded I got stuck here. This jump isn't possible and if it is it's frame perfect, I can't seem to make it...
the art is original and eye catching, making for a compelling experience. A way to restart after dying would be very appreciated.
Haha, the animations really made me laugh. They feel good! Going for a Metroidvania in a jam takes guts—I tried once and failed horribly. Amazing entry. Keep it up! :rocket:
Awesom!!!! Nice art style, fun sound that make you want to keep playing
Amazing art and the game is pretty fun, though would be nice to have some kind of checkpoints.
This art style is unique! I died :( FIVE STARS!

Well, that's a nice game you have here ! I love the graphics and the sound especially, pretty impressive to have all that in 72h ! About the gameplay itself, the only thing I have to say is it's too bad that you have to start from the tutorial when you die, but since it's a pretty short game it's alright. Also, it may need a little bit of tweak on the platforming level design. But other than that, it's really fun ! Good job !
Yay, sheep brought home! Really nice looking environment art and parallaxes! Nice red glow in the underground!
Great with all feedback! Sounds, particles, ui showing held key etc.
I was really missing a checkpoint after falling down the hole, I think it would be nice to spawn above the hole and lose one life instead. I understand the dark souls reference, but the part where you couldn't see the landing was a bit tedious.
In Hollow Knight you can fly down the camera a bit with the down button to see what's beneath you, I think that that would be really nice to have. I also think you could have had a lot more enemies, and then just give player more hp if needed for balance. I feel it was quite well paced though with just the platforming!
Well done!
@j4cko16 There is a worse jump ahead ;) Honestly never found this one too hard. Thanks for playing!
The visuals are fantastic and the metal music underground was a great touch the first time I arrived. I would have liked to have been able to respawn closer to where I die though (at the very least already underground).
Funnel Knight is an NES era game come to life in a gorgeous illustrated style. Complete with tasteful foreground parallax, lively animation and a metal rendition of the overworld music for the underworld.
If there's one thing I could point out, it would be I will happily exchange my *kingdom* for a checkpoint. It does feel very in the vein of those classic NES games to start you from there and it's not like, a super long game, but one death closer to the end just physically hurt my soul.
That said, it does have that "I get slightly further every time" thing that makes a challenging game like this good. I never feel the game is cheap, I just wasn't ready for that jump, or I need to sacrifice a hit or 2 to work out how this enemy behaves. I was also reminded of DOS with the colorful keys and doors, how Keen of you.
I've got a lot of feelings towards Funnel Knight, its original look sticks in the mind and it's packed with personality from the main character's various actions, to the sun's face to the "you died :(". Little gem of a jam entry.
I like the art and humor. I wish i could skip dialogue with the same button i play and to separate button.
Very fun game, the controls felt very good and I love the artstyle:) What I missed a lot were checkpoints as making a small mistake and having to return all the way to the start was quite frustrating
