Wow, this looks really polished! I took some screenshots because I feel like the logo by itself doesn't really do justice to how good the art and visual style is. This is fun! What's your highscore? One issue is that the menu option cycling is really hard to control. I would switch that so it only ticks up or down once per button press. I also didn't see any way to change the window size which might make it hard for people with smaller displays to play. Great job!

@daniel-foutz Thanks so much for playing it! And you were playing on a controller, right? I didn't test on that and I think I found a big bug using the joystick, so thanks for catching that! Just fixed and reuploaded a build.
And so far the best I've done is 249, but I just got a message from a friend that got 1447, i don't know if anyone will be able to beat that lol image_2022-04-04_125315.png
Wow that's a crazy high score! And no, I was playing on a keyboard.
The music is great! I loved the player character!
Simple, fun, and very addicting to try and do better and better
Simple, fun and while I've seen many similar games I've never seen this exact formular so well done on that. It was quick to get into, understand what you had to do etc. so great experience :)
Agree with the guy above, screenshots don't do justice to how pretty the art is in motion.
Also, god damn, I suck at this game! I'm freaking out over high 2 digit scores and there are people breaking 1000...

Great game, simple fun and fits the theme. The music is very fitting too, the only weird thing I found was the bomb sprite, for the first few playthroughs I thought it was an "instant death" sort of item, so I avoided it. That's kind of "general game language" talking, but maybe some less deadly-looking sprite would be better. I enjoyed it a lot, my high score was 790

Really liked this game! Kept giving it one more try even though I sucked haha! I only could get 49 but loved the experience and how clean and polished it was! Think the time was perfect and it's so instant that you have to give it one more try!
A simple gameplay loop with a cute parallax background to distract you from you being bad at the game because you can't seems to get good at jumping on those bubbles - Still a good game, would recommend trying it - my highest score is 43 but some people said they went as high as 200 and even over 1000s so I'm curious to see how people did it.

Very addictive and fun. Like others said, the loop works really well but I wish you needed to wait just a little bit less for more bubbles to come in to frame so you're instantly back in to the action. Interesting devlog too, the ten second time investment is really intriguing idea to explore. Great job!

Your game totally fits the theme! I mean it's obvious but done in a great way. A highscore game where every bubble gives you a timeUp is neat and it feels really balanced imo.

Super polished and fun! The game just feels right, being easy to pick up and play, and the use of the theme plays right into the mechanics. It's an absolutely solid package!

Honestly this is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It's so simple yet so satisfying to try to go for a higher score. Your video really explained all the mechanics, and they make perfect sense and work so well in execution. As of right now my best is 239, but I think I'll try for higher. At one point I had 18 seconds on the clock. If I *had* to give you any feedback it would be that the music does get a little bit repetitive, but really that's not that big of a deal. Fantastic job!

So, getting a really good score isn't that hard if you can get combos. I got a score of 1421, and the only reason it wasn't infinite was because I did eventually get bored. Obviously, you didn't plan for your players to play for that long, but, when I had to intentionally wait for like 3 minutes just so I could die, that might be a bit of a problem. Anyways, I just wanted to share my score :)
@mateu haha you’re awesome man. And yep I actually did something similar today and it inspired me to work on a post jam version that speeds up the bubbles as you keep going and limits the bonus you can get from combos. But so far it’s just you me and one other guy who have run into that, so maybe that means the difficulty is good for the jam but could be tweaked for post jam?

@barelyevengames yeah, I had to play for like 20 minutes to get to that point. Most people probably wouldn't do that, so I wouldn't worry. The beginning of the game is plenty difficult enough anyways. Also, I liked your devlog video I thought it was good. (I thought this theme was great though, but whatever)

This is a fun game! Fast paced, stressed, and time focused. Good idea to not show how many bubbles popped. The time distracts the player to focus on the game. The music is a little too loud for me. Overall, it's a great game! Great job!
Damn! This is quite catchy. Both gameplay AND music. Couldn't stop playing. Good Job!

Fun game, although it doesn't really relate to the theme much, seeing as it's *technically* possible to just "play forever" and hence not inevitably die.

Really cool and quite unique idea for a game :) My only feedback would be: I would love to be able to close the game on Windows with Escape button instead of ALT+F4 :P Anyway, good job!
@arihan10 thanks for playing! I think that’s certainly a way of thinking about it, though the timer will never stop so you are always delaying, never stopping, the inevitable. Although I think currently it’s a bit too easy to get a huge amount of time so I’ve updated that for future builds.
@zimny11 i appreciate the feedback! You can actually pause with escape and return to the main menu, and the main menu has the quit button. Good feedback though to have a quit button on the pause menu. Or did the pause menu not work? If so I’ll have to figure that out.

The Escape button does not seem to work when I'm on "Play Again" screen. When I start the round, then it works fine (what I missed the first time I played, because I was trying to close the game after I lost, and I was on "Play Again" screen).
