This is really polished! Super impressive for such a short jam.

This is really polished! Super impressive for such a short jam.
Beat it in about 5-10 minutes. Special compliments for the art. The background art in particular was astonishingly good for a jam game. Nice, pleasant music too. I definitely felt the theme played into the mechanics. The game played well--it was easy to judge where my attacks were going to land and the player feedback was solid. Difficulty was just right for an LD game. It was a fairly straightforward take on the genre, so I can't rate as highly as I'd like on innovation, but everything else was great. This is the kind of game I could see buying if it were expanded into a full release.
Very Cool. Love the pixel art.
Also pretty hard. I'm stuck in the second level at the moment. I think I was almost at the end. :D I will try again tonight when I have more time.
Good job :)
I noticed one minor bug: I was hit by a slime after I already collapsed. I think it was mean, hitting someone already on the ground. :D
A great game lvl design great, sound is fantastic especially yooo in start of the game, animations very beautiful animations.
A very classic game but also very fun! Excellent work on the assets, the visuals work really well, like if it were part of a retail game.
That was so fun! I've played it twice start to finish and that, i think, says it all. I would love a bit more.. Lovely graphics with attention to detail. The music is very fitting, creating a moody but playful atmosphere and the sound fx, cute and funny. I would definitely play this game in a longer version. Cool job guys :)
How in hell this game has done in 3 days. This is finished just put it on steam or sth.
Well done guys!! really!
The game looks and sounds great and the controls are really smooth! The game view could a bit larger though and it's a bit too easy to accidentally click outside of the window.
yoooo for now it's the best game i have seen sound and movment so satisfying and the designe super cool
I love the music and art. Gameplay is fun but quite punishing, as a player who is bad at platformers i wouldve liked another checkpoint in the last level. ^^ Edit: Btw there is a rouge dark pixel on the bottom left of the player sprite.
The art is fantastic for such a short time. In my opinion the movement was to smooth it nearly felt like I was gliding on ice when I start/stopped running. And it is a bit too punishing if you touch a slime. But it is an awesome game you pulled off! Love it! :v:
That's some really impressive art! The scenery is stunning! Especially the backgrounds!
such an amazing art style, this is perfect
you could have exachanged the samurai with and avarege jammer and the slime with bugs and it would ahev also been perfect. Incredibly polished, the starting cutscene with the title is super nice and, although i dont like bordered pixel art, it was really good anyway, one of the more polished game i've played this jam good job
The feeling of hit is excellent~ but waving the sword will make character move forward a little, it happened many many time that the moment i kill the enemy,i also die as i move forward to touch it```yes, die in front of the battery.
A very good platformer, movement, jumps and sword attack seem natural. Plus great graphics and music. I enjoyed the game. And I just realized how good a samurai I am
Very well done! Impressively polished graphics and animations for such a short time! Mechanics are simple but good, the enemies have a very good difficulty. Great job!
Love the look and feel on this! Super polished, especially those attack animations and those backgrounds are freakin' gorgeous! Loved it!
Art and music are both super pretty, and the combat mechanics feel really nice. Only minor issue I noticed was that the you can reset your timer by sliding into an energy drink (i assume that's what they are) after dying, in which case you're still dead but have to wait until the timer goes down again to continue.
this is a really cool game. felt really fluid and easy to control. all the mechanics were easy to understand even without any explicit tutorials. very well done.
only thing i didnt like was that sometimes you couldn't jump while holding "right" up against a wall.
Great job! The controls were really solid and the levels looked great and were well thought out, its a shame there wasnt time for more of them. The art was cohesive and looked really good making everything feel alive. I feel like your created a really solid core of something in such a short amount of time, its really impressive!
Just finished the game, it was really cool, loved the art and the audio matched the mood of the game perfectly, really solid experience!
Excellect little action-platformer game! The animations are all lovely and the animated grass makes the world way more alive! The bamboo spikes is a great idea, it really compliments and fits the whole visual world of your game. Generally, the total aesthetics are very very beautiful. My congrats to the art guy!
The bad thing is that sometimes I felt like the attack controls are not responsive enough. I think that the attack system needs to be a little bit more instant, it could be an animation tweak, removing some frames of the slash effect. Also, I found a minor bug that kills you even when you just took the "health bottle" and the health bar went full. One more thing, something is going a bit wrong with the parallax effect on the backgrounds but I'm not sure what :P
Overall, I would love to play more of this game. I like how it forces you to fight in order to keep yourself alive. Great work to all of you, keep it going!
It's not the best use of the theme but anyway a very good game with an amazing pixel art, congrats!!
Wonderful pixel art. The gameplay is also really cool but I feel like there is more potential here to make it more unique. Playing through it for me was mostly about being fast enough. I think it would have been more interesting if there would have been strategy involved where to get the next fill up from and how to progress through the level with that in mind. It would be of course also much more challenging to make levels for that and more time consumning which is not the best idea for a game jam game.
Everything about this game was great. Audio, art, gameplay. And it was really well polished. Great work!
Fun little concept. Great art style and music choice!
Great Job. Very well polished!
Fantastic and very polished game. Everything fits well, the combat and movement is very satisfying. Good job! :)
Very cool game! The art was cool, I liked that the grass was animated, it made the world feel more alive, and the sword attack swings were satisfying! The only thing that I didn't like was that I had to replay a lot of the game when I died, I would prefer more checkpoints, but that is only a personal opinion. Overall the game was very good and well polished, I really liked it :)
Wow, very nice graphics and awesomce audio! Very well done for a game jam! The platforming was also solid but nothing special. Very well done!
It is great! I want more!
Great game! The audio, art, and game play all really work well together. I also like your approach to the theme.
Loved the idea and graphics. The game is fun and follows the theme well. Great job.
Nice pixel-art, really great game, though I expected to find the bed at the end  Camera & movement with attacks feels really good, good job!
@noiyy thanks! We had planned on making 3 levels with the 3rd having the bed at the end but we ran out of time :)
Really great presentation! I love the detailed pixel art and the parallax scrolling background. The lowkey music also added to the ambiance. The gameplay was simple, but enjoyable for what it was. I will say that I question the decision to bind attack to the mouse when the game otherwise doesn't use the mouse at all. Regardless, a solid, stylish game. Nice work!
One of the coolest yet. Neat samurai action! Maybe more narrative to why the heck it's happening. Not just the exhaustion. And I'd try less hardcore level design. But overall this game gets stuck in your mind, the visuals, the music, the concept is superb.
@ardorugus Thank you so much for your feedback! I'd like to answer your question about the narrative- why it's happening. At the start of the game it says Akubi has had a exhausting mission but it also states that Akubi suffers from narcolepsy, hence he is the 'Narcoleptic Samurai'
"Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder characterized by overwhelming daytime drowsiness and sudden attacks of sleep."
I hope this makes more sense now and to anyone that wasn't aware of what narcolepsy is.
@ginxel That's a very nice touch to the story, aye. I know narcolepsy. By the narrative I meant more working with the theme within the game. Like why such monsters/entities, why pills in them, is there someone waiting for this guy's return (maybe even there in his bed), etc. There's a lot to the mechanics from the point of narcolepsy also. So, I believe, this game could be developed further. It does worth it.
Really liked the graphics and the mood of the game. A simple concept but it works. Good job!
I loved the vibes and music of this one and the sword felt quite satisfying to combo. Of course I wish there were more levels but overall a job well done!

Thanks for the game!
